Chapter 32

"What do you mean?" Jonathan touched my hand again. The familiar pain shot right from the hand up the spine and down to the tips of my toes. The memories of the death and many others as an added bonus. I focused on my breathing to steady myself in.

"Stop touching her. You are hurting her." Jake jumped in breaking our connection.

"Jake, I am barely touching her." The pain stopped. I opened eyes, Jonathan moved back in his seat, his hand in a safe distance from me. Once more I focused on the simple act of breathing before continuing with the story. I didn't want to linger, though - I really wanted to get over with it as soon as possible so Jonathan disappeared from my life forever.

"As I told you. I know only what she told me. I saw Annie. I saw how you broke her heart. I saw her die." I skipped the part of her lying in a pool of her own blood. It was rather a graphic picture I was not keen on remembering.
