Part XIV: A Day Out with Kireina Part 1

Next morning came, they sat for their breakfast together in the palace's grand dining hall.

"The stakes gonna take effect today, Sun-sama." Meishu told them.

"Sure. Flower, wanna join us?" Sun replied and he asked her.

"This is no good. I was making him like my sister." Meishu told himself.

"R-really?! He is inviting me while he is with another girl?" Flower shouted deep inside.

"It is okay if you want to refuse." Sun told her.

"S-sure, Sun. It is fine." Flower responded spontaneously and she blushed.

"Oh no! I didn't clarify the stakes! I should have told him that he would be with her alone for a day." Meishu screamed internally.

"Well then, let's go out to the town later. Fossil, join us. We might need a helping hand." Sun told them.

"Him too! How many people does he want him to join them?!" Meishu screamed more internally.

"Let's go out after breakfast." Sun told them.

"As you wish, Your Imperial Majesty." Fossil replied.

"Sure, Sun." Flower replied.

"It is an honor, Sun-sama. Onii-chan, don't do anything stupid while I am away." Kireina responded and she told Meishu.

"Control your behavior in front of Sun-sama." Meishu told him.

"I know right. I am not cocky like you, Onii-chan!" Kireina told him and she gave him a sharp look.

"At least, I am not as uncontrollable as you!" He replied as they gave each other a sharp look.

"Well well, let's eat our breakfast." Catacius said in a smile while looking at the siblings.

"Do the honors, Your Grace Duke Catacius." Sun told him.

"Well then, Your Imperial Majesty Emperor Sun. For friendship and alliance." Catacius said as he raised his goblet of wine.

"For friendship and alliance." Sun and Meishu responded as they raised their cups and the others raised theirs.

They ate their breakfast and as they ended the four went to the town.

"It is a bright day, isn't it?" Sun asked them.

"Yes, Sun-sama." Kireina replied.

"Where do you want to go?" Sun asked them.

"Market!" Flower shouted.

"Mountain!" Kireina shouted.

"Kitchen!" Fossil shouted.

Hearing each other's answers, they all looked at each other in a moment of silence.

"Where do you guys wanna go?" Sun asked again.

"Mountain!" Kireina shouted again.

"Kitchen!" Fossil shouted again.

"Market!" Flower shouted again.

"Guys. I am serious. Where will we go first?" Sun asked them as they looked at each other again.

"We are serious too." They replied.

"Fine, let's just go downtown Kandainos for some shops." Sun told them and gave out a sigh of relief.

"Yay!" Flower shouted and blushed.

"Don't worry we can go to the mountains later. We still have more time. It is just morning. We can go everywhere except the kitchen." Sun told them.

"Yay!" Kireina and Flower cheered.

"As you wish, Your Imperial Majesty." Fossil replied in a gloomy response.

"Why are you so gloomy?" Sun asked him as they started walking.

"Nothing." Fossil replied in a sad tone.

"Come on. Cheer up!" Sun told him as he pushed him.

"Fossil! Look out!" Flower shouted as he hit a nearby pole.

"Oops. Sorry. Are you okay?" Sun asked him as he aided him to stand up.

"You are bleeding, Fossil-san." Kireina told him.

"B-bleeding? Quite unusual." He replied.

"Restituere. Salutem." Flower casted and Fossil healed.

"T-thanks." Fossil told them as his head stopped bleeding.

"Let's go." Sun told them as they continued to walk.

After an hour of walking they reached the shopping district of Kandainos.

"Woah." Flower expressed in her amazement of how big the shopping district is.

"Where do you want to go?" Sun asked Kireina who was looking at the mountains from the distance.

"I-I am fine, Sun-sama." She replied as they walked.

"Come on. Don't be shy." Sun told her as he grabbed her hand.

"Sun-sama." She replied in her surprise.

"See you later guys." Sun told them as he pulled her hand and they ran away.

"Where are they going?" Flower asked Fossil she saw them ran away.

"I don't know. I am gonna go this way to buy some food." Fossil replied gloomily.

"I-I am alone again. Maybe I will just buy something and go back to with the rest of the crew." Flower told herself as she saw Fossil walked away gloomily.

Meanwhile, Sun and Kireina are having a good time visiting souvenir shops. They suddenly passed an empty alley where they heard someone screaming.

"Hold my dagger. Let's check what is happening in this alley." Sun told Kireina as he gave her the dagger.

"S-sun-sama, where are we going?" Kireina replied.

"Shh... we will look what is happening. Someone is screaming." He replied as they sneaked on the empty ally.

"You can still fight, kid?!" One of the voices shouted and screamed.

"I-I can do this all day." Another voice replied and another scream was heard.

"Hold tight. We will fly high." Sun told her.

"Wh-what!!!" She shouted as Sun jumped to the roof.

"Saw ya!" Sun shouted as he saw the source of the voice and he jumped in between the man and his enemies.

"One vs five, huh? How fair do you think it is?" Sun asked them.

"Now you are two! Charge!" The gang leader shouted and charged at him with their swords.

"Well, let him rest. I will fight you alone." Sun told them as he pulled his sword and a man jumped to attack him.

"Got you!" One of the man shouted as he was about to land a hit on him.

"Too slow. How cute." Sun replied as he blocked his sword and punched his stomach.

"Twin blades!" Two of the man shouted as they charged together from both sides.

"How pathetic. Kid, sword!" Sun replied to them and he ordered the kid.

"Here!" The kid shouted as he threw the sword to him and Sun blocked the attack of the two men.

"Tsk. Boys! Get him." The gang leader shouted as they charged at him.

"I will go easy on you." Sun told them with a sharp look as he blocked their attacks.

"Come on! Beat him! He is just one and there are four of you!" The gang leader shouted as they fought him.

"Pathetic. How cute. Dual Spin!" Sun told them and he shouted as he leaned on his right foot and sped up his movements until his sword pointed on the gang leader.

"Uh-uh." The gang leader replied as he saw his sword pointing on his neck.

"Pathetic." Sun told them as the gang leader ran away in fear of his life.

The four men dropped their swords and kneeled, begging for their forgiveness.

"Master, forgive us. We won't do it again!" One of the men said.

"Master, please forgive us. Please teach us the ways of your sword." One of them added.

Master, please forgive us." The four begged as they kneeled.

"Teach you? For what? To return to your old ways?" Sun replied.

"No, master. We won't do it again. We promise." One of the men replied.

"We promise." The three added.

"Are you sure about that?" Sun asked them.

"Yes, master." The four replied.

"Well then, if you really want to learn the ways of my sword then by tomorrow morning present yourselves on the manor of Warhambe. Tell the manor guards that you are looking for a man named Sun. You understand?" He told them.

"Yes, master!" They replied.

"Well then, fix yourselves and go home." He ordered them.

"Yes, master! Thank you, Master." The four replied as they picked up their swords, put it in their scabbard and went away.

Sun approached the man who was injured and can barely stand.

"You brought up a good fight, kid. What is your name?" Sun praised him and asked for his name.

"My name is Gabriel. Gabriel Toledo." The man replied.

"You are good at fighting, Gabriel. Where did you learn those?" Sun asked him as they aided him to stand.

"I am a student from the Barhambrian Naval Academy, Sir." He replied as helped him sat on one corner.

"Restituere. Salutem." Sun chanted and healed him.

"Feeling better?" Kireina asked him.

"Y-yes. Thank you, Sir." Gabriel replied and thanked him.

"What year are you?" Sun asked him as he gave him Gabriel's sword.

"2nd Year Student, Sir!" Gabriel replied with a salute.

"Nice. Wanna join our naval academy? It would be easy to transfer you to our academy." Sun asked him.

"May I know your academy, Sir?" He asked them as they walked aimlessly.

"It is the Solar Naval Academy located at Taiyou City, Taiyou County in Sun Empire." He replied calmly.

"S-solar Naval Academy?! Are you sure, Sir?" Gabriel asked in shock.

"Yes." He replied and nodded.

"I want to study there but I didn't make it in the exchange student program. I spent two years in our naval academy in hopes of being a sailor." He told him.

"Well then, if you really want to go then present yourself tomorrow morning in the manor of Warhambe. Take this sun amulet. It will guide you there." Sun ordered him and he gave him an amulet.

"Thank you, Sir." Gabriel replied with a salute.

"Well then, you are dismissed." Sun told him and they saluted at each other and Gabriel went away.

"H-here is your dagger, Sun-sama." Kireina told him as she gave the dagger.

"Thank you, Lady Kireina." He replied.

Meanwhile, Flower was walking around when she bumped in to them.

"F-Flower?" Sun asked her as he saw her sitting on the ground.

"O-ouch." Flower replied as her head hurt.

"What are you doing alone? Are you alright?" Sun asked her as he helped her stood up.

"I-I am fine. Thank you." She replied.

"Why are you alone? Where is Fossil?" Sun asked her as they walked around.

"I don't know. As far as I remembered, he said he will eat at a nearby diner." Flower replied as they continued to walk.

"Let's just let him eat. He was so gloomy today he only needs to eat so it will go away." Sun replied and he laughed.

"Oh, Your Imperial Majesty. You are here." Fossil told him in surprise.

"In speaking of the devil, Fossil you are here." Sun replied.

"I just walked around the town." Fossil told him.

"Let's eat lunch now. I am kinda hungry." Sun told them.

"Me too." Kireina replied.

"Same." Flower replied.

"You guys are not eating yet?" Fossil asked in his surprise.

"Yeah. Let's go eat together." Sun told him as he grabbed his neck.

"Y-your Imperial Majesty..." He replied as they started to walk.

"Come on. You are kinda heavy to drag though." He told him as he let go of his grab.

"Yeah. Su-" He replied but didn't finished because he fell out of balance from Sun's hand.

"Are you alright?" Sun asked him.

"Y-yeah. I am alright, Your Imperial Majesty. Don't mind me. I am alright." Fossil replied with a monotone voice.

"Come on. It sounds like you are very careless today, eh?" He asked him.

"N-nope, Your Imperial Majesty. I am just sleepy." He replied.

"I know a nearby diner. Come on, we would wait a long line if we didn't go there." Sun told them and they ran.

They ran across the town to Sun's recommended diner and they arrived a bit late. Lucky for them, people are just started flocking the diner and they had the opportunity to wait for a shorter line.

"We made it." Sun told them.

"Ah, Your Imperial Majesty. It's been a long time. How are you?" The diner owner approached him as he saw him waiting in the line.

"Yeah. It's been a long time. I am fine, how about you? How are you doing?" Sun replied and asked him.

"I am very fine and very strong as ever. Come sit here. I will prepare our special meal." The diner owner replied with a laugh and prepared a table for them.

"Thank you, Mr. Leonid Nimbus." He thanked him as they sat on the chairs.

"Your welcome, Your Imperial Majesty. This is a rare occasion so I would like to treat you with our specialty. Please wait for a while." Leonid replied and went to the kitchen.

"It looks like you are very close?" Kireina asked him.

"Mr. Leonid was a former cook in one of the Imperial Academies' and he became one of the Imperial Family's Cook but due to his old age he retired and established a diner. He spent his retirement in managing this diner." Sun replied as they wait for their food.

"I see. He looks very strong despite of his age." Kireina replied in amazement.

"He is actually 95 years old." Flower added.

"Wh-what?!! 95!" She said in shock.

"Yes. He is actually very strong. He served three generations in our family." Sun told her.

"He sounds like an immortal." She replied in shock.

"Yes. He still cooks good food." Fossil told her.

"W-wow." He is amazing." She replied.

"The food is here. Sorry for waiting. Presenting the Solar Master Dish!" Leonid served them their food.

"Wow! Your timeless masterpiece." Sun exclaimed.

"Yes, Your Imperial Majesty. Specially made for you." He replied.

"Thanks, Mr. Leonid. You are the best." Sun praised him.

"Thank you for the praise, Your Imperial Majesty. Enjoy your food." Leonid replied, bowed and he went back to the kitchen.

"Well then, since it will be your first time to taste Mr. Leonid's cooking. You do the honors, Lady Kireina." Sun told her.

"R-really?" She asked.

"Yes." Sun responded.

"Thanks for the food." Kireina stated as she got the first bite from the dish.

Kireina's eyes sparkled and they started eating. They ate the special dish and rested for a while. They bid their farewells and proceeded on travelling.

"Where are we going now?" Sun asked them.

"To the mountains!" They replied happily.

"Well then, the mountain city of Nocerro is just nearby." Sun told them.

"Yay!" They all shouted.
