Thanks.

Both of their faces were alert looking at the black hole visible at the entrance of the cave. Lu Yan was rather skeptical of his warning but still decided to believe in him. Li Yang was someone who never appeared serious whenever she saw him but now he was tensely watching the movement of the black hole. She narrowed her eyes and intently watched the entrance of the cave when a sound came from inside the black hole.

There was a whoosh sound resonating throughout the valley and soon her face paled when she saw hundreds of swords flying out of the black hole. The sharpness of the swords caused even the surrounding leaves to cut into pieces. It rushed out endlessly from the cave and started attacking the cultivators who were standing at the entrance of the cave,

Those helpless cultivators who were not ready were ruthlessly cut into pieces even before they had a chance to defend themselves. The Yang siblings were lucky enough to have their elders present with them blocking them from these words effortlessly. The force of the sword was not something a cultivator with a weak cultivation base can endure.

Some high-pitched screams and groans were continuously transmitted from the valley. Her mind shook at the sight of the massacre that was happening in front of her. For the first time in her life, she was made known how cruel the cultivation world can be. If you are weak and powerless, all you do is present your head to a sword in an unknown valley.

She clutched her sword tightly and slashed in all directions at the swords which were attacking her in all directions. When the swords felt that the opponent was powerful enough, one more sword flew and started attacking her from the side.

Lu Yan danced among the swords using her strength to evade and defend against the advancing swords. She was like a fairy with her jade-like face and her red robes that were fluttering in the wind. She twisted her sword and stabbed it right in the center of the incoming sword making it powerless to advance anymore. The slight delay helped her to retreat from the array and come closer to Li Yang.

She wanted to protect him from the swords so that he would not be hurt but soon her eyes widened looking at the situation. Li Yang was casually swinging his sword as he walked forward and backward in a strange way. She looked at his feet and started to notice that every time he came forward the range of the attacks from the sword weakened and when he went backward the other sword that was attacking him had its range weakened. He used this way to continuously weaken the attack from the swords.

Lu Yan looked around and found out that all the words that were attacking the people had the same strange trajectory. Lu Yan observed closely and started to imitate him handling the swords and she predicted she too was able to weaken the range of their swords that were attacking him.

After an intense time, several people died and some were gravely injured. A lot of people were on their last legs facing the incoming swords. Some of the geniuses started gritting their teeth and using up their protective measures. The sounds from talismans, armors started resounding around the valley.

Suddenly the swords stopped and dropped to the ground. The ferocious aura from the sword disappeared without a trace. Cultivators heaved a sigh of relief and started standing up from the floor but were soon scared because the swords which were lying on the floor lifelessly started moving. They were scared and took a step back readying themselves to slash with their sword.

But soon all of them were surprised as a strong suction came from the black hole and the sword was sucked into the black hole. The swords were completely sucked in and then the black hole disappeared from the entrance of the cave,

Only the entrance of the cave remained and the dark narrow path leading inside the mountain welcomed them like a monster that was going to gobble them up.

The hands that were holding the sword trembled and Lu Yan turned towards the boy beside her. She has now completely confirmed that the boy beside her was not an ordinary existence. This was someone who knew about the rules of inheritance. Even her family which was a behemoth on the continent was not able to gain a lot of information about the trial but a boy similar to her age was able to predict what was going to happen.

She shuddered thinking about the power behind this seemingly gentle boy beside her. But this also raised her vigilance against him. Trust is not something that can be given to someone with a lot of secrets. Especially to someone who can kill others without even raising his sword. She was fascinated by the boy but to the level that she was stupid enough to trust him completely.

Li Yang knew what she was thinking looking at her face she was in deep thought. He nodded in approval, if the other person was stupid enough to trust him with her life just because of this situation then she would suffer a lot in the future.

For him, she was someone who fit the plot perfectly. This trail and inheritance eas, not something that he was helping her due to his selflessness but rather due to his selfishness. He looked around and saw the pile of corpses that were littered around the valley. Now that the number of people was eliminated to the third of the actual number, It was time to enter the valley and face the challenges inside.

**************

A palace stood on the top of a mountain. The majestic view of the palace and the people who were flying around the palace with their swords boasted a very majestic aura of the people who were at the bottom of the mountain.

A middle-aged man was sitting opposite an elder who looked wise and powerful. The middle-aged man looked at the board in front of them and sighed.

"It has been so many years master and still I am not able to beat you. Can't you just give up sometimes so that your favorite disciple can win?" the middle-aged man complained as he drank the tea in annoyance.

The elder looked at him with a gentle smile and tapped his head.

"You have always been sly, you brat. You think I don't know what you were doing when you encouraged the little ones to compete for the throne. Every one of them is now like headless chickens running around trying to gain power for themselves" The elder shook his head and stared far into the distance.

The middle-aged man chuckled and said in a deep voice.

"Even if they amass power, what can they do ?. All of them think of themselves as the most powerful in the world. This is a good time for them to understand the real forces of the world. Even our puny continent is going to be part of this bloody battle and I don't know how many of them will survive"

The old elder thought about something and then shook his head.

"We should select the correct party to stand beside otherwise the consequences would be terrible" The elder cautioned the middle-aged man who was relaxing beside him.

"What about the child of prophecy, He should be able to stop this bloody battle right?

The middle-aged man had a hopeful smile on his face when he questioned the elder.

The elder shivered thinking about the boy whom he have once seen several years ago.

The memory from all those years ago made his blood go cold.

The smile of the boy who was sitting in the middle of thousands of corpses. Their face was unparalleled but his body was drenched in blood. The blue sword that was stabbed into the corpse in front of him.

The only thing was, the blood on his body was not his, But from the Thousand people he had massacred in a single night
