Independent Mode

On his Journey Back, he had stealthily moved around and was on alert if someone was tailing on him. After making sure that no one was, he could relax and move on more smoothly, He hoped that while he was still going back to the fields, no one was hunting slimes and continue going on making the wolves there have a bad time, He could only sigh on this reassuring thought. After all, There was always a chance for someone also to accept the same quests.

Navigating around the dense forest that served as the path towards the Open Fields, He had manage to arrive to find out that there's still a decent amount of mobs to kill. Including Slimes which seems to not have been touched.

"This is great" He thought. There were still players hunting but no one seems to pay attention to the slimes. He took this chance to check out the slimes.

[Slime (Ordinary) | Level 2 | Skills : Corrosion Spit]

Looking at the terrible stats, he now knew why no one was hunting it. It was too weak and offered little experience compared to the Wild Wolf. He can only shake off his head and prepared his hunting routine. Contemplating on what weapon to use, He tried using his staff and started using the 3 magic skills he learned.

He tried [Arcane Arrow] first, It hit the slime and dealt -25 magic damage to it. Directly taking off 1/4 of it's HP. After that, He tried using [Fireball], dealing -28 magic damage to it and -18 burn damage extra. clearing off more than half of it's HP and tried [Frost Bolt] next. Dealing -16 magic damage to it, and slowing it's movement speed. Seeing that [Arcane Arrow] had been off cooldown, he first one. Only to finish it off with a -56 Magic critical damage. He got around 50xp and was disappointed with it.

He got 2 Slime Gels from the dead slime before it disappeared. After it was done, he scouted another slime and tried using the bow with [Charged Shot]. It was idle so it served as the perfect target practice. He readied the bow and casted the skill, the bow was suddenly lit with white aura, signifying that It's Level 1, Contemplating about it, he started to hold the bowstring even harder. And Suddenly, The white aura turned into blue, showing it's Level 2, another couple of seconds later, It turned Purple, It's Level 3. And after that, It finally glowed red, Showing that it's in Level 4. He took aimed and released it on the unsuspecting slime.

- 172 [Deathblow!]

He killed the slime with a Critical Level 4 Charged Shot. Which was definitely surprising. After checking the loot, he had gotten 3 slime gel from it, totaling 5 gels at his hands, or 25% of the quest requirements. He found another slime and used the sword this time to deal with it. He initiated with [Charge], Charging towards the slime and dealt -16 damage to it and stunning it. He then casted [Power Slash] and dealt -44 damage to it, Along with a lucky proc, dealing an additional 30 bleed damage and finishing it off with an normal attack. This time it dropped 1 Gel. and sighed. He was unlucky this time. He shook his head and prepared to hunt more slimes.

[Congratulations! You have unlocked the Rage Stat, This can only be filled when dealing damage or taking damage, Current Rage: 65/100]

He was surprised with the notification but paid no heed to it after that.

Minutes Later, he had gotten all the slime gel he needed and with his exp bar rising to 26%. After taking a short break, he went back to the village and zipped towards the Alchemist.

He handed out the task and completed the quest, giving him 2000 exp again and 5 Minor Health and Mana Potion. With the task at hand completed, he left the alchemist alone and wandered off towards the forest once again to hunt.

While he was on his way back, He had overheard an conversation and decided to chime in.

"Dude, Independent Mode is so hard, I'm to terrible at it and I can't hit properly" said Archer Guy

"Holy... You're too fucking bad at even hitting point blank, you need to switch classes and go on use Automatic Mode" replied the Warrior Guy.

"Independent Mode?" Rune thought. He checked the settings, and lo and behold. It was there.

"Independent Mode ehh? I'll switch to that" He thought. He switched from Automatic Mode to Independent Mode. And after that, He felt something was off. He checked and found that he had more better control on his body. After doing that, He initiated a basic exercise and continued to run to the field and found out his movements were more fluid and natural. He checked his surroundings and found a lone wolf resting without a care in the world. He took out the bow and prepared to do [Charged Shot], Following the Tutorial, He took aim and pulled the bowstring as hard and long as he can, achieving a level 4 [Charge Shot]. After waiting for few seconds, he let go of the bowstring, and along came the arrow to unimaginable speeds.

And Bullseye, It hit the wolf, and it died instantly.

[Skill Completion: 100%, Dealing Additional 500% True Damage]

[Deathblow!]

It dealt a Whopping 1000+ Damage. This damage shouldn't be achievable in the beginning of the game. He thought. And while he was in a trance, a crisp sound came along.

[Congratulations! You have achieved "One Shot Overkill"]
