Chapter 26

The Braavos Fleet was a couple of hours away from Lorath and would arrive at sunrise. Greg's soldiers were on the wall preparing for the battle. Cannons were already set up on the wall, with spare cannonballs being brought up to the wall for extra ammunition.

The people that were closer to the port were moved back away from the port. Greg wanted to avoid civilian casualties. The new Layout of the port after being redesigned during the reconstruction of the city was great for defending.

The Cannons were set up to have a good range on enemy ships attacking from the sea and the walls which were even better than before could hold out against the artillery from the Braavos fleet.

----

A couple of hours before the attack on Lorath Greg was in the palace looking at the two Dragon eggs that he has wondering when they were going to hatch.

The palace which was the first thing that was built in the city is massive as it has the main building which contains the Throne room, Royal Chambers, Royal Library, and the Royal Armory which is currently empty.

Separate from the palace was a building that used by the Royal Guards, this was the place where the Guards who are not on duty rest while those who rest go on duty. This ensured that every Guard was well rested just in case something happened.

Each Guard has dedicated their life to serving the King and have sworn an Oath, much like the King's guard in King's landing, the only difference is that Greg's King's guard didn't have a lord-commander and was instead controlled by him and Aleanna.

Aleanna was the first general that Greg summoned and was also the person he trusted the most. While he trusted all of his summons, Aleanna was different since she had proved herself on multiple occasions.

While Greg could feel a small connection to the eggs, he couldn't tell when they were going to hatch. He always kept them near a fire since he knows that they need to be warm, but they showed no signs of hatching.

Greg was being impatient since he couldn't wait to see the dragons and with the system he could think of all the dragon armor that he could get for them which will make them even stronger and give them protection against projectiles that can pierce them.

The people of Lorath knew what had happened to the Sea Lord, and after hearing why the Sea Lord was captured, they didn't resent the Government at all and instead many prayed to the gods that the soldiers will win the upcoming battle.

Life was too good for the people of Lorath now, and they didn't want that life to go away. Their city has change for the better and some people who have traveled to other cities have to say that Lorath looked marvelous and might be one of the best looking cities on the continent.

Although there are others like Qohor, Braavos, and Volantis that still looked better but given time and Lorath will be able to contend with them.

Greg had grown bored of just sitting around in the palace, so he went out to the courtyard and started practicing his sword skills with a group of soldiers.

The group of soldiers and Greg all had wooden swords, so nobody would get seriously hurt.

Greg was standing with 5 soldiers in front of him, waiting for one of them to make the first move. Two of the soldiers decided to step up and be the first ones to get beaten.

They have already been told to go all out and not worry about injuring him. The two soldiers each went on one side of Greg, surrounding him. Normally, a person would think they're at a disadvantage against two opponents, but not Greg.

He went to attack the person to his right first, quickly slashing his sword at the soldier which the soldier blocked forcing Greg's sword to the right then counter-attacked, but Greg was too fast and swung his sword from the right and made the soldier drop his sword.

Then he quickly ducked, sensing an attack from his rear, and luckily he did or else that attack would have struck him in his shoulder and made him drop his sword. After getting up from ducking, Greg didn't waste any time and attacked the other soldier.

He acted like he was going to swing his sword from above then changed directions to attack from the left, but the soldier reacted in time and blocked the attack from the left and counter-attacked Greg.

Greg was not in a position to throw another strike at the soldier, so he went on the defensive, blocking the soldier's strikes a while backing up. Eventually the soldier and Greg's sword were crossed together and both of them were trying to use their strength to over power the other.

As Greg and the soldier swords were locked together, the other soldier had already gotten up and got his sword off the ground and was now approaching Greg, whose sword was locked with the other soldier.

Greg then used more strength, forcing the soldier back which caused him to stumble and fall on the ground which Greg took the chance to knock his sword out of his hand while he was on the ground.

Greg then picked up the sword and was now duel wielding swords. He turned to face the other soldier, but now he was joined by the other 3 soldiers.

"A 4v1, this should be fun" Said Greg with a smirk on his face

For the next hour or so, Greg and the 5 soldiers continued training until they got tired and decided to stop. Greg went back and took a bath, then went to bed to rest before the battle in the morning. It was around 3 or so in the morning which enough time for Greg to get 4-5 hours of sleep which was enough.
