Chapter 69

Looking up in the Sky, Stannis's army saw something that they didn't expect to see in their lifetime. The very same creature that brought the entirety of Westeros to heel hundreds of years ago is right in front of them.

Some of them had to rub their eyes to make sure that what they were seeing was real, and indeed it was. Some of them tried to run, but Stannis stopped them "Everybody get into formation now and prepare to defend, Archers form a line"

The soldiers who were trying to run away had turned around on seeing their King, but were still hesitant to get into formation.

The soldiers who didn't run away had immediately got into a shield wall formation, with their shields aimed upwards towards the Dragon and Great eagles.

The archers had lined up behind the shield wall, awaiting command from Stannis to fire their arrows. Melisandre was looking outside the ship, in Horror, when she saw the dragon and strange creatures flying towards her.

She doesn't know why, but she felt that her connection to the Lord of light had vanished, only for a second, then she felt that if they fight this battle then only death will await them.

She quickly ran outside, climbed down off of the boat, and tried to run as fast as she could to Stannis to tell him that they can't win this battle.

And as the dragon got closer, the more she felt closer to death.

After running for a couple of seconds, Melisandre had finally caught up to Stannis "My Lord Stannis we cannot win this fight, The Lord of Light cannot help us with this Darkness"

Stannis had looked at Melisandre for a moment, then back at the Dragon that was about to attack them. He and his army has come too far to stop now, so he drew the sword ignoring what Melisandre said "We can't stop now we must beat this darkness"

Ser Davos Seaworth who standing next to Stannis knew they couldn't win this battle and didn't want to see all these men massacred fighting a battle that they couldn't win.

"Your Grace if we fight that Dragon it will be a one-sided battle in which we will not win" Ser Davos tried to convince him to stop

Stannis ignored Ser Davos and raised his sword, signalling his man to prepare for battle. Melisandre ran back to the ship to hide from the Darkness, while Ser Davos stayed by Stannis side.

Maximus and his Air force had gotten close to the army of Stannis and saw some arrows flying towards them. But it was useless, as arrows were not going to Pierce the armor of the Dragons and the Great Eagles.

Stannis army had watched as the arrows bounced off of the dragon and the giant eagles. They were ordered to release another volley, but Maximus and his soldiers were already on top of them.

While Balerion was flying close to the army, Maximus stood up and jumped down off of Balerion and landed in front of Stannis army. He wasn't alone either, as half of his Royal Guard did the same, landing behind him while the Great Eagles attacked the archers.

The Infantry of Stannis seeing the small number of soldiers in front of them was ordered to charge at Maximus and his Royal Guard. Maximus drew his sword and raised it high in the air, leading his men to charge into the enemy lines.

The Royal Guards had rushed in front of Maximus and instantly broke the front line after the first clash using their superhuman strength. Maximus, who was originally leading the charge, was now in the middle of all of his Guards.

All he saw was that after the first clash he saw lots of men flying in the air, mostly likely they were thrown by the Asgardians. The other half of the Royal Guards had jumped off behind Stannis army, attacking them from the flank.

While Maximus was walking through the enemy army surrounded by his Royal Guards, he spotted Stannis who was charging at him like a mad man, so he ordered his men not to do anything and as soon as Stannis got close Maximus side stepped to the right avoiding Stannis sword then kicked him in his side which sent him flying a few feet.

Stannis was simply overwhelmed by his strength and was trying to recover from the kick, but his body didn't want to move, and before he knew it he was grabbed by his throat and lifted off of the ground.

All the soldiers who were fighting had stopped on seeing their King defeated, and now everybody was watching as a King and Emperor fight.

But it wasn't much of a fight, instead it more like a one-sided beat down.

"Stannis Baratheon I suggest you surrender the battle is over, and you have lost"

Struggling to break free from the grip, Stannis said, "I will never surrender to a foreign Emperor NEVER"

Maximus threw him to the ground, signalling his men to arrest him. He then looked at the remaining 8k soldier of Stannis and gave them a choice "For the rest of you men I will give you a choice to either kneel or die"

The soldiers were hesitant at first until Balerion landed next to Maximus and roared, forcing those who were hesitant at first to instantly kneel.

"Good now you all will fight for me now is that understood"

"Yes your Grace" Said all the soldier at the same time

"Good now let's head back to Castle Black and deal with the Bolton's"

Maximus Royal Guards started cheering, while the newly recruited soldiers just followed along, hoping not to anger their new King.
