Chapter 87

After another 2 weeks of marching, the Imperial army had arrived at Kingslanding at the same time as the dwarven and Dornish army.

Maximus had met with both Dáin and Prince Oberyn as they talked in the General's tent about the plan for the siege.

Prince Oberyn wanted to thank Maximus for giving the Dornish a chance to revenge for what happened to Elia Martell. For many years they have sitting by waiting for a chance to get revenge and now that they are finally about to get it both Prince Oberyn and Prince Doran were glad that they were given the chance.

As they were talking in the commander's tent, the soldiers were setting up a camp just outside Kingslanding but not too close since then they would be in range of the archer's and artillery and the Wildfire that the Lannister army has.

The siege would begin in a couple of weeks once the artillery and siege equipment arrives at the camp.

The artillery and siege equipment were part of a separate unit that would arrive a few weeks later. The reason they were part of a separate unit rather than the main army is because of how long it takes to move all the artillery.

If they still had the artillery with the army, then the Imperial army wouldn't have even made it this fast to Kingslanding.

And while ladder's could be built to assault the walls of Kingslanding the amount of casualties that would occur would be more than if they just used the siege tower's.

By the time the army had arrived, Julius already had the Imperial fleet surrounding Kingslanding from the sea, so anybody trying to escape would be captured and imprisoned until after the battle.

But their mission wasn't only to block the part, but to also bombard it, destroying the entire port and any Royal ships docked in it.

Some ships that were docked were already preparing to move out to fight the Imperial fleet, but they didn't expect that the fleet would arrive two days early.

It caught them off guard as they were ambushed, but some who were determined to fight back managed to get to the artillery on some ships and fire back. This action had destroyed 4 Imperial ships and slightly damaged 10 before they were finally taken out.

Those 5 destroyed ships all together had over 300 people on them and out of the 300 people only around 50 managed to survive while the other 250 were unaccounted for.

Most of the people that did die were people not summon from the system and were regular civilians a couple of years ago before joining the Imperial Navy and becoming sailor's.

So in honor of their sacrifice their families shall be compensated, and the sailors will be remembered for their sacrifice. Not as heroes, but for doing their duty as an Imperial Sailor.

Meanwhile, in the Red Keep which was the castle of Kingslanding where the Royal family lived, Cersei was looking outside a window at the sea which was filled with Imperial ships.

She watched as the Royal fleet was destroyed within a day. The Royal Fleet was their only hope in surviving, but now it was destroyed, and they were surrounded, leaving them with nowhere to run to.

As she continued looking outside the window, Jaime had walked in the room with panic on his face "Cersei it is true there is an army of Half men lined up in front of the Gates and Daenerys Targaryen who is riding a dragon is asking to meet with Tommen" Said Jaime as he had to catch his breath because he ran all the way to the castle"

Cersei turned around in shock since she heard the report about the army of dwarves but didn't want to believe it, and now that same army is in front of Kingslanding right now.

"Why Tommen and not me" Asked Cersei

"Because Tommen is the King, and she probably wants to convince him to surrender by promising to spare our lives" Said Jaime

"She probably wants to discuss our surrender, which is useless since we won't surrender to those foreigner's, and we have something that could turn the tide of the battle" Said Cersei as she sat down in her chair

"But the messenger is already meeting with Tommen in the Throne room" Said Jaime

"Why wasn't I told about this, Never mind that I am heading to the Throne room, don't let that messenger leave" Jaime had left to tell the other Kingsguard to not let the messenger leave

In the Throne room, the messenger was simply tasked with trying to negotiate for a peaceful resolution to this conflict.

As he walked into the throne, an announcer had announced all of King Tommen's titles and his name. The Messenger whose name was Raymond didn't really care for the King's Title's since most of his title's wasn't even relevant since half the Continent was in control of the Empire.

But he still showed his respect, since he was only a messenger and nobody important.

After the man had stopped announcing his titles and name and Raymond bowed, they had finally started talking about the matter at hand.
