Amidst a collapsing universe, trillions among trillions of people were unaware of the danger and near certainty of their death that approached quickly and with certainty. For 150 billion years the universe had been expanding at near the speed of light and the day it comes to a stop soon approaches. After billions of years of expansion, the moment when the expansion stops will be the moment the universe ends. Once it reaches that point it will then shrink and collapse in on itself and this collapse will once more spark the birth of a new universe. A new big bang from the collapse of a universe. While trillions of trillions of inhabitants lay clueless to this the powerhouses of the universe were not.
The powerhouses searched for a way to survive beyond the end. At the top of the list is the Human powerhouse, the Dawnless Master Clan. They have been the sole rulers of the universe since time immemorial. While all clans searched for a way to survive. Only the Dawnless Master Clan was able to find a method to survive past the Big Crunch.
The Dawnless master clan Brought all its important members into a secret realm where the top powerhouses of the clan consisting of its clan leader and grand elders did two things. They slowed down the time flow within the realm to an incredible margin. Then they separated the space of this realm from the fabric of the universe. Allowing for the realm to float among the void.
However this did not come without a cost; many of the elders, as well as the clan leader, perished in this attempt, severing the connection with the universe required for them to stay behind. No matter how powerful these Divine Deity Realm Magicians were, they could not survive the gravitational and cosmic collapse that is The Big Crunch.
What remained of the Dawnless Master Clan was the younger generation as well as the very old and powerful Deity level immortals whose lifespan was almost eternal. However within The Realm that they found themselves in with no universe. They had no mana to cultivate their magic. While The elders could siphon energy from the void to sustain themselves the young ones couldn't. As such they could not cultivate. While the end of the universe and the beginning of the new one did not take more than a second. The remainders of the Dawnless Master Clan had to wait till life was once again possible.
However from within the Bubble that was their hidden realm. They could not see into the outside. They had no way to estimate when they could return. The Master Clan had one chance and one chance alone to reconnect with the newborn universe where they to pick the wrong time to return, where they to reconnect to chaos things wouldn't look so bright. While the old deities were capable of surviving the chaos of the newborn universe they would be too weak after the reconnection to protect the young ones from perishing instantaneously. As such, they had to wait as long as they could wait until the new universe's time of chaos was over. While they had slowed downtime before the previous universe collapsed there was no guarantee the time flowed the same. The best estimates of the Dawnless Clan were being able to survive 100 thousand years within. If time flows the same in the new universe as it did in the old. With the slowed passage of time within the hidden bubble realm, they would arrive at the new universe around 10 billion years after its birth.
However, the only people within the bubble realm able to survive the 100 thousand years were those at a very high realm. The young ones unable to cultivate had a lifespan of at most 100 years. After a thousand generations of living within the bubble realm, the future of the master clan was bleak. The highest elders of the clan were in a state of meditation for they needed to conserve their energy for connecting their bubble realm once more with the universal fabric that would take all their might. With no efficient way to recover their lost power they conserved it as best they could.
Over the generations, the ones keeping the realm in check were the low elders whose lifespan was long enough yet whose power would be useless in reconnecting the realm. For 1000 generations the clan lived in isolation and desolation as they still clung to the hope of leaving the bubble realm in one hundred thousand years.
In a large city within what was now called the Dawnless Master Realm. Stood a hundred thousand youths. At the forefront of the hundred thousand youths stood a young man with silver hair. His name was Luka Kai Mera Kaiser. He was the Grandson of the Old Clan Leader who gave his life for the one chance his clan had. The old Clan Leader was known as Master Lydon Kane Neer Kaiser. His son, who took the seat after his father sacrificed himself, had been the ruling figure in the Realm, Leonard Kyln Mare Kaiser. He had a son sixteen years ago, his firstborn. That child was going to lead the Young Generation of Conquerors of the realm to the new universe. Once the connection was reestablished the realm would once again be filled with mana which should allow for the Dawnless Master Clan to cultivate their magic once more. The young prince would be sent out of the Master Realm along with four companions, they were to be the beginning of the Dawnless Master Clan in the New Universe.
The old fogeys were either too old to be sent out or two powerful. They had no clue of how the outside universe functioned at the moment. Their most powerful elders would be exhausted after the reconnection if they were even to survive. While the current rulers of the universe were unknown, it was for sure less probable for the youngsters with no cultivation to cause a problem with their sudden appearance rather than old fogeys with mighty cultivations. As such the hundred thousand youngsters were the way of the Master Clan to dip their toes in the water that was the new universe. Once the new Universe was more clearly understood and the elders recovered would the old fogeys and the elders sweep across the universe with their Deity Level Cultivations. For the moment the young ones were to be the first ones out.
The Current Clan Leader while not Deity Realm was still powerful. He was currently speaking to his son and the thousands of others. As the young ones stared at the sky above their heads. They were watching something they had never seen before. A myriad of lights were soaring through the sky, they were what the old elders called Aurora.
At the moment the Great Elders of the Clan were following the Supreme Elder. To reconnect their small artificial realm to the new universe outside. That is if there was anything out there.
The young ones had been trained since birth for this moment the best and most apt cultivation methods had been prepared, the most divine treasures had been prepared, the best medicines and elixirs were all at their disposal for they were to start their path of magic. And they had to advance quickly.
The first step for them to accomplish was to gather the magic from the world and fill their bodies with mana. Then their journey would begin. Once they could cast initial level magic they would officially enter the Genesis Realm. The World of magic was divided into many realms and as the magicians cultivated they would reach higher and more powerful realms of magic. The Genesis Realm was the first followed by the Origin Realm, the Ascendant Realm, the Spirit Realm, the Sage Realm, the Lord Realm, the King Realm, the Emperor Realm, the Sovereign Realm, the Void Realm, the Chaos Realm, the Nova Realm, the Cosmic Realm, the Saint Realm. Then Proceeds the Deities beginning with the Mortal Deity Realm, the Spiritual Deity Realm, the Royal Deity Realm, the Imperial Deity, the Eternal Deity Realm, and the Divine Deity Realm. Each Realm divided further down into 4 stages of mastery Adept, Elite, Master, and Paragon.
Each realm was determined by the amount of mana a magician could hold within themselves. At the genesis realm, a magician could hold about a liter's worth of synthetic mana. However, the living magicians held natural mana rather than synthesized mana. However, as it is ethereal, mana was an immeasurable substance. As soon as they exceeded the liter they would break through to the next realm. However, that was just an estimate. The actual capacity of individuals varied massively. A commoner at the genesis realm might hold less than a liter while royals at the same realm might hold two or three. It all highly depends on the individual's talent. However, while the quantity of mana determined the realm it didn't determine the strength. A mage's ability to cast spells is solely dependent on them having enough mana and control over it but two individuals with the same quantity of mana could vary immensely in strength. Depending on the purity of their mana their control over mana and spells and their combat abilities. It wasn't unheard of for lower realm magicians to defeat higher realm magicians. However, the higher up the ladder you went the higher the difference in between realms. While purity, control, and combat abilities, played a major role in the fighting strength of the young ones. The old ones who've had thousands of years of practice could make up for it decreasing the variance in fighting strength between realms. As such the higher you went the higher importance the realm of a magician had over a battle. However, it was still common that the higher realm magicians had the advantage as only highly talented individuals could make up for that difference.
The reason for the unquestioned rule of the Dawnless Master Clan over the previous universe for billions of years was their unique bloodline. The bloodline of their clan gave them an edge over the rest of the universe. The bloodline they called Quantum Night. This bloodline gave them unrivaled control over the aspect of time and space as well as concepts of darkness. However, what determined their strength was what they called Resonance. Once a member of the clan awakened their bloodline they would enter an interconnectivity network they called Nexus. In other words, every member of the clan was connected to every other member through their bloodline at a quantum level. Why, nobody knows. But they were. This Inteconncetivy allowed for telepathic communication as well as an increase in strength through a sharing of the bloodline. It was said that the previous Master could tap into the bloodline of the trillion members of the clan spread out all across the universe. This would increase his strength by an unimaginable level. However, this was not a common ability. The Bloodlines of the Clan were divided into ten levels. At the top of the line was the bloodline of the Old patriarch and his kin. What they called the Master-line. Followed by the Chief-line, the Elder-line, the Imperial-line, the Royal-line, the Noble-line, the Knight-line, the Warrior-line, the Guard-line, and the Native-line.
A hierarchy instilled into the very blood of its members that no one could defy. For the bloodline would boil if they did. As well as the natural and manual activation of a member's bloodline were they to disobey or rebel which would induce incredible amounts of agony. However, it wasn't as bad as it sounds. The boiling of the bloodline wasn't a common occurrence. Its natural activation would only occur where you, knowingly and willingly betray the clan. As for the manual activation, only the Master-line was capable of making others' bloodlines boil. Since the Members of the masterline wouldn't go around boiling bloodlines most crimes within the clan were a simple punishment of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Despite all the hierarchy, there were possibilities for the evolution of the bloodline. The higher up the realms you went the higher your bloodline would go. And their descendents' bloodline would evolve in turn. However, not everyone was as talented as to reach a Deity Realm to have their bloodline reach Elderline. As well as the untalented descendant's bloodline would eventually devolve to lower bloodlines. This allowed for evolution and devolution allowing the status quo of the clan to remain. However, there was one line that would never change. The Masterline could only be passed through the descendants of the patriarchy. It could neither be evolved into nor devolved out of.
The telepathic communications between members were just communication like another form of talking. Many outsiders believed that it was a form of hivemind however the clan members all had their individual minds but could communicate telepathically. This allowed for exceptional teamwork. Which was the core strength of the Dawnless Master Clan.
At this point, Luka Kaiser at the young age of sixteen was listening to his father talk about what they might find in the outside world like they had been taught many times before. Luka was the Heir to the Dawnless Master Clan; he has a younger sister who was a year younger however she wasn't in line for the throne. She was only to take over, were her elder brother perish before the Clan Master. Was the masterline to fall no one had a clue of what would happen to the Dawnless Master Clan. His father had held off in procreating to allow for the continuation of the masterline in the new universe.
At this time a massive explosion was heard coming from the heavens above.
The Current Master Spoke
"The Master Realm has regained its connection with the universe. The gates will open soon and everyone, be ready to depart. You all will be sent in teams of five, to various locations within the range of the Master Realm you all are the hope of the once glorious Dawnless Master Clan."
Soon many gates opened amidst the plaza at the center of the City. The spatial gate was black and nothing could be seen beyond the gate. the first to move was the young prince followed by his companions after them the thousands followed.
After the Prince jumped into the gate he now made his way towards an unknown place. As the master realm was now flooded with mana all those who stayed behind began their cultivation. As for the old fogeys they once more returned to seclusion to recover for the glorious return of the Dawnless Master Clan.
