"Then, I'm sure." Linthia affirmed.
Despite knowing there was no going back after her answer, her voice didn't waver.
She wanted to tell Rex the reason for her choice. the responsibility she owed to Dindora, but the words were stuck in her throat. In her mind—she said it aloud, to show Rex that she was willing to do anything to achieve her goal, to become the strongest general of the empire.
However, she couldn't bring herself to say it.
Her mouth was open but her voice didn't want to come out.
Linthia was embarrassed, ashamed to say it aloud.
Knowing that she had been a burden all this time, barely being able to keep up with the other captains, she was too ashamed to voice out her desire to Rex. All she could do was confirm it in her heart and do the best she could in the upcoming task.
Even then, Rex could sense her determination.
"You've changed, Linthia," Rex nodded. "You're stronger now already"
