Rex walked along the street, heading back to the main pavilion with steady steps.

He was carrying Kraken who was cooing at every sight that was remotely interesting for its baby mind.

Once he reached the main pavilion, walking through the same front yard where he had dragged Selvaris mercilessly, he didn't go inside the main hall. Instead, he sat down on the stairs and gazed ahead at the broken land.

At that moment, he took in deep breath and recalled the reasons he was doing this.

Even though killing was a regular sight for him, this was different.

He consciously killed the innocent without sparing a glance.

Now, the reason he always told himself—that he only killed the innocents when he lost control of his Werewolf side, it wasn't enough anymore. He couldn't hide behind that excuse and somehow, that made him feel weird, uncertain, and drained.
