What Had My Mother Done To You?

Present

When Ella answered an incoming call from an unfamiliar number.

Ella was standing at a red light intersection. Who knows how many times the green light continues to flash until it shows the red and yellow lights again.

She was still looking from a distance at a fancy restaurant with a distinctive Italian style, seeing the entrance alone made Ella's heart a little shaky.

Will she still meet the woman who contacted her?

When she picked up the previous incoming call, it already left Ella astonished.

How could Mrs. Marioline Smith find out her private number?

"Come on Ella ... this is just meeting her. And after this you only hear enough stories from that woman, right?" Ella said to herself.

And finally, she dared to step into the restaurant, a waiter woman who served in the welcoming section gave a friendly smile to Ella.

Even when she saw Ella for the first time, the maid's eyes stared at her strangely and suspiciously.

"Good afternoon Miss, have you made an appointment beforehand?" She asked still friendly

"Promise? Ah ... yes ... with Mrs. Smith, Marioline Smith," said Ella.

Again the maid stared at her with a look as if to say, "Is it true this girl is going to meet Mrs. Smith?"

But of course, the female servant didn't say it, still maintaining her hospitality. She directed Ella to enter the room.

Ella was enchanted by the view of the Italian restaurant, the furniture, walls, decorations all in a typical Italian style. She was sure, this restaurant must have expensive and delicious food.

The servant led Ella deeper. She didn't expect Mrs. Smith was waiting and was sitting casually at her desk.

She wore an elegant black dress that matched with the black fascinator (British women's hat).

She also wore black webbed gloves. Making her appearance contrasted with Ella, who was only wearing a blue shirt that was too big with the sleeves that she rolled up high. Jeans with a ripped style at the thighs.

Even Ella didn't wear heels, she only wore black sneakers.

Mrs. Smith immediately looked up at Ella who had just arrived, she was staring with a look of dislike - and it was very clear to see.

"Have a seat please," said the servant and pulled a chair for Ella.

The waiter also put a soft white napkin on Ella's thigh. Then the servant politely lowered her head and left Ella and Mrs. Smith.

"Have you been waiting long, Mrs. Smith?" Asked Ella brave enough to ask.

"Quite a long time .." she said, sipping his drink with a large and pointed glass.

"Mrs. Smith I was quite shocked that you called me suddenly, and you said there was information about my father? What do you mean?" Asked Ella directly.

"It seems you don't like small talk, Miss. Ella, Okay then ..." Said Mrs. Smith, come back in a very upright sitting position.

"Ella, do you know the story of a fairy tale princess story?" Said Mrs. Smith, but Ella was still confused to answer Marioline's question.

"Mmm ... I assume the answer is you know it, right," said Marioline.

"An interesting story that is always told, a beautiful ordinary woman who loves a handsome prince. I think it is a lie ... because in reality no one handsome prince is attracted to ordinary women or vice versa. Because they have too many barriers and differences?"

Marioline gave Ella a condescending smile.

"What do you mean Mrs. Smith? I don't understand the direction of your conversation at this time," said Ella still maintaining her politeness.

"Be patient, Miss. Ella, I am telling you a fact. Do you still want to hear my story? Or will you continue to interrupt me talking?" Marioline said. She was glad that Ella had closed her mouth tightly.

"Clever girl, because I don't like if there people interrupting me while talking." Marioline took another sip of her very little red wine with the tips of her dark red lips.

"The reality is a handsome prince, married to a noble daughter. They live happily and have a beautiful daughter." Marioline stopped and saw Ella's reaction, and this time she didn't smile.

"But their happiness is snatched by a bad woman, that woman looks like a fairy. But in reality, she is an evil witch, with her evil power she began to snatch the heart of the handsome prince of the Noble Princess."

"But a noble princess is not easily defeated by an evil witch. With the strength, she has. Of course, the noble Princess can easily destroy the evil witch and get rid of her and the Prince Charming's life."

"But the noble princess forgot, that the evil witch had a child from her affair with the handsome prince. And the child of the witch tried to do the same thing that her mother had ever done."

Marioline stops to tell her story and stared at Ella's reaction who should have understood the whole story.

"Don't you understand yet? Miss. Ella?"

"You are the daughter of the evil witch, and your mother is the witch," Marioline explained very sarcastically.

"Are you too drunk Mrs. Smith? What do you mean to tell me all this? And you need to know, my mother is not an evil witch." Ella was already starting to raise her voice.

"Are you sure Miss? Ella? Have you ever asked your mother directly, how is your mother's past life all this time? And how did she fall into a servant in the Huxley family?"

Ella looked even more cynically at Marioline, "You must be just bragging right? Why are you telling me this? There is no benefit whatsoever for you to tell me about this." Ella still couldn't believe it.

"I don't care if you don't believe it, I'm just trying to warn you not to do the same thing your mother did."

"What do you mean, what has my mother done? And why do you seem to hate my mother so much?" Ask Ella back
