Chapter 1
I groaned as my alarm sounded alerting me to the fact that I have to get up to prepare for school. Today being the first day of resumption and also my first day at the school, I have to get to school early so as not to get a tardy slip for being late. I am Sarah the only child of my parents and seriously I get lonely most of the time since I have no siblings whatsoever to talk to whenever my parents are not at home. My parents and I moved from our old neighborhood after my dad got a new job. I am a little nervous about going to school because I'll most definitely be the only newbie in the school, I mean who transfers to a new school in her senior year?
I got out of bed to take my bath after which I put on my clothes. Thank God I don't have to put on uniforms again, I am so happy I can wear any clothes I want. I went downstairs after I was done with my daily routine in order to eat breakfast with my parents. I greet my parents after which we all settled down to eat.
Sarah dear, my dad said. Guess what's coming; advices. You know you are resuming a new school today and I need you to maintain your good behavior and also your good grades, he concluded. I told you so right, I knew it.
My child, you are our only baby and I wish you will remain the little girl of yesterday but look at you all grown up and now in her senior year, mum said.
Mum I know you love me and all that but you know I can't remain a little girl forever, I love you mum, I love you dad, I answered. Guys enough with the sappy moment I don't want to be late, I called out. We finished breakfast and got ready to go. Dad is taking me since I don't have a car and mum decided to tag along.
Are you excited to start senior year in a new school? My mum asked.
Ugh mum, don't remind me, I am kind of nervous right now and maybe a little excited, I answered looking out the window. We got to school and went to the main office to get my schedule. On getting there, we met the person in charge, I got my schedule and locker combination after which I left to search for my first class. I bade my parents goodbye and we went our separate ways. It was easy finding the class and I heaved a huge breath before pushing the door open.
