I turned around to see All Might with Bakugou and Todoroki. Aizawa-sensei was a lot closer than I thought and looked at me with appraising eyes.
"Young Midoriya," All Might said approaching him. "(F/N) is absolutely right."
I smiled at Bakugou and Todoroki.
"Hey guys, did ya have fun?" Todoroki nodded whereas Bakugou just stared at me with the weirdest look in his eyes.
"How was you meet with SIr Nighteye?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
"Interesting." I said looking up at him.
"Hmm." He said leaving.
Bakugou sat next to me and Todoroki left.
"What did you two do?" Bakugou asked quietly.
"Just spoke. It was concerningly short. But I signed the papers and start tomorrow. I just explored the agency after that. Midoriya and Togata went patrolling for a little while."
He nodded thoughtfully and leaned against the cushions.
He was surprisingly close to me. I've never seen him sit this close to anyone other than Kirishima.
"Another hero was found, critical condition and his quirk removed this morning in an ally. He-" The news lady cut out when Bakugou turned it down.
"Hey," Mina said coming from the kitchen. "I was gonna watch that."
Bakugou scoffed and threw the remote at her and casually slumped against the cushions, touching my shoulder.
I felt my cheeks get warm and hid it with my sleeves. He didn't even look at me, his eyes glued to the TV. I tested it out, slightly moving my shoulder away from his but he just got closer. I felt my cheeks get warmer.
.The Kirishima came over and sat on the other side of Bakugou, squishing him closer to me until his entire left side was pressed against mine.
"What the hell, shitty hair? There's not a lot of room." Bakugou said, his own cheeks getting warm.
"There's nowhere else to sit." Kirishima said shrugging. He offered the bowl in his lap. "Popcorn?"
Bakugou grabbed a handful and muttered, "whatever".
We sat like that for about an hour, everyone converging in the living room. I eventually caught onto Kirishima's story of saving Tamaki Amajiki, a big three member, from a bullet.
"Wait, you what?" I said peering over Bakugou to look at him.
"Yeah! There was this villian, and I almost had him, but then he just suddenly got a hundred times stronger and I needed a little help to take him down. When I saved Tamaki, the bullet hit my hardened forehead. Actually left a mark!" He point to a small bruise on his forehead.
I leaned over Bakugou to get a closer look at the bruise.
"Seriously Kirishima? That's the tiniest battle mark I've ever seen." I said poking it.
He faked pain and grinned.
"It's still totally manly." He flexed and arm.
"Totally." I assured him. I sat back, away from Bakugou and noticed he was clenching his fist.
"Firecracker, you okay?" I asked looking at him.
He got up and left, stomping into the elevator without a word.
"Whaz his problem?" Kaminari said taking his spot and winking at me.
I shrugged and stretched.
"I'm gonna head to bed. You should too Midoriya, we meet Togata tomorrow." Midoriya nodded and Kirishima did too. I noticed how tense and unfocused Midoriya was. Did something happen in his patrol?
"Yeah, I'm supposed to meet Tamaki early tomorrow." Kirishima said standing.
"Yeah, they really like getting us up early. We gotta meet Hado too." Uraraka and Asui said.
"Night everyone!" I said waving and following the others.
"Night!" They all said in unison.
I chuckled and walked to the guest dorms. I paused outside my dorm, seeing Bakugou standing in front if it, leaning against my door, his hands in his pockets.
"Oh, hey Firecracker. Do you need something?"
Bakugou looked at me, his face unreadable. He stood up straight and approached me. He picked at my bandage and looked me in the eye.
"When you leaned over me, I saw the bandage peek up a bit. What happened. It looked like burn marks. I swear, if half n' half did this, I'll kill him."
"What? No, he didn't. I did it on accident." I rubbed my bandage.
He looked at me and his eyes narrowed. He pushed me against the wall and was up against me.
"Don't lie to me. There is no way you could have accidentally burned a ring around you neck. That physically impossible. I'm not as stupid as the others to just ignore your lame excuse. What. Happened."
I gulped and pressed myself as close as I could against the wall.
"Why do you care?" I said looking away.
He was silent for a moment.
"Because . . . if someone hurt you, they might hurt others." I looked at him, he cheeks red. "So I wanna make sure I keep people in check."
My heart kinda sunk at his answer and I didn't know why, but I smiled and hugged him.
"Aww, Firecracker turned into sparks." He stuttered, his face in my shoulder. "I'm fine. I promise. I mean it." I held him tight. "Now stop bothering me."
"Okay, okay, let me go!" He said, his voice muffled in the sweater.
I laughed and opened my door.
"Night Firecracker." Bakugou swiftly kissed me cheek and walked away.
"Night (F/N)" He said.
My cheeks flushed a crazy red and I walked into my room. I threw myself down on the bed and relaxed, trying to sort the thoughts of him.
I don't when I did, but I eventually fell asleep.
~Bakugou's Point of View~
She held me.
My heart was pounding.
She grabbed me and held me close to her. I can't believe she did that. So casually too!
I laid on my bed and tried to slow my heart.
Dammit, this girl is turning my world upside down.
~Midoriya's Point of View~
I looked at my ceiling. Thinking about that little girl in the alley. She was so scared. I don't think she really wanted to go with him.
I turned in my bed and squeezed my fist. I took what (F/N) said to heart and I see things differently now. I just really wonder why Mirio stopped me when I could have saved her.
I let out a frustrated growl into my pillow.
There was a knock at my door and I was never more surprised to see Kacchan.
"K-kacchan! What are you doing here? And so late!" He walked in and snorted at my decorations.
"Do you know how (F/N) got that injury?" He asked looking me in the eye.
"No, she said she got it on acc-" Kacchan left and shut the door behind him.
"Huh? Wait!" His footsteps retreated down the hall to his own room.
I sighed and threw myself into bed and closed my eyes. Begging for morning to come.
~(F/N) Point of View~
I arrived outside to find Kirishima, Uraraka, Asui, and Midoriya all waiting outside.
"Oh, did I make you all wait?" I asked hopping down the steps.
"Nah, it's fine. We were all heading out anyways." Kirishima said.
"Morning!" Uraraka said.
We all arrived at a corner where I expected us to break off, but ended up going in the same direction.
We were all a bit confused until half an hour later when we were discussing the recent hero attacks.
Nighteye introduced us to a bunch of pro heroes and got to the point. He showed us a picture of a man with a mask.
Midoriya and Togata next to me both tensed at the sight of him.
"This man-" All I heard were bits and pieces, my mind not focusing on the blabber. I heard, erasing quirks, drug dealing, DNA, blood, children . . . .
"Wait, the little girl Mirio and I saw with him yesterday is the one he's getting the bullets from?!" Midoriya cried.
I swiveled to him, my eyes narrowing.
"Midoriya." I said evenly.
Everyone turned to look at us. Midoriya stuttered and avoided my gaze.
"Yeah, s-so Mirio and-d I were p-patrolling and . . . ." He cowered under my irritated gaze.
"Hehadagirlwithhimthatwascoveredinbandagesandwasreallyscaredbuthegotawayandwedidn'tknow." He rushed through the explanation.
I sighed and rubbed my eyes.
"And you didn't tell me why? I could have helped you look for her." Midoriya looked down and I patted his shoulder. "Don't sweat it too much. We'll get her back."
I rested my hands on my head thinking.
"Do we know where she could be?"
I asked.
Nighteye looked at me and shook his head.
"There are too many possibilities. But we've been watching so we'll contact you when we're ready to rescue her." He looked at the heroes.
"We need all hands on this operation."
Pro hero Rocklock snorted.
"Why do we need a bunch of students? They're just kids."
I stood up and looked at him.
"Why are you worried about what we are instead of what we can do? No matter what you say, you can't deny in anyway that we'll be helpful." I stretched.
Nighteye nodded.
"She's right. Eri ran away from Mirio and Midoriya when they found her. They're the only ones she met. If we showed up as a bunch of people she doesn't know, she might not want to come. But if we bring a familiar face, I think this will go smoother." He looked at me. "We still need to discuss your quirk and what use it'll be on this mission."
I sat down and grinned.
"It will definitely be useful. I would let Midoriya explain it." His eyes lit up. "But I'm not sure he'll stop talking about it." I looked at him. He smiled bashfully.
I slid a hand onto the center of the table. A small globe of fire appear.
"A fire power? How is that useful?" Mirio said drinking water.
Midoriya caught on and grabbed it, spilling it onto the table.
"What the heck Midoriya?!" Mirio cried.
Midoriya just smiled and pointed at me.
"Just watch."
I sucked all the water off the table, drying is with a small tornado. The water bended in the air. Forming small animals or objects. I carefully sent floating back into Mirio's water bottle.
The heroes were staring, slightly impressed.
"I can control the elements." I said. "I can also control the earth. But where in a building. Since quirks are physical abilities, mine requires a whole lot of energy and stamina. Which I gratefully have a lot of. If I have a lot of sugar or caffeine, It'll improve my power usage and it's extent." I leaned back in my chair. "One of the few downfalls is I can only summon fire and ice. Occasionally water, but that's only when I sweat. Air is everywhere so that's not a problem, but earth? I have to be on either concrete of solid dirt for it to work."
I tapped my foot on the tile floor.
"This won't do."
Nighteye looked at me with a new light in his eyes.
"That, is actually, a really helpful quirk." He said smiling. "Now, well, contact you when it's time. Until then, just focus on your school until then."
We all left the heroes in the room and returned to school in time for training.
"WHAT HAVE YOU LOSER BEEN LEARNING?!" Bakugou yelled at Midoriya and Uraraka.
"We can't say Kacchan!" Midoriya opposed his request.
"WHY YOU!" Bakugou yelled.
I placed a hand on his shoulder and he froze.
"Calm down, he's not allowed." I said.
He growled and crossed his arms.
I walked over to Aizawa-sensei.
"I don't like this. Something's not right." I said.
He looked down at me and sighed.
"We want to stop him altogether. But you can only accomplish so much." He looked around the room at Kirishima, Asui, Uraraka, and Midoriya. "We chose you because we know you can help."
I sighed and left.
Training was over.
~Time Skip~
It was a few days later at night when we all got the alert. I met with the others downstairs in the main hall of the dorms.
"It's time." Kirishima said.
I squeezed my fist.
"We're ready."
