(Chapter 2) The Ice-Demon

Astrid was stuck in bed for only 10 minutes, before her new mother came in with a small bowl in her hands.

"My baby... Do you need help?" Mrs. Tuhs prepared herself to feed Astrid...

Astrid just shook her head. "No need." She lightly said, as she reached for the spoon and started to eat on her own.

However, after one sip of the soup given to her. Astrid blinked, as she took a glance at the soup in more detail.

All of this was happening while Mrs. Tuhs felt her eyes sting. 'My baby, my baby is eating by herself!'

Astrid slowly sipped at the soup, when she got slower at eating, Mrs. Tuhs lightly sighed and took the bowl away.

"Come on, get some more rest. There is no need to eat if you can't." She spoke amiably, as she caressed Astrid's cheek.

Astrid took her gaze away from her mother. "Okay." Astrid then put her head back against the pillow, ready to go back to sleep.

Mrs. Tuhs was relieved seeing how much Astrid had eaten, but she knew that she struggled to eat that amount. She was indeed an excellent mother, being able to tell within seconds if her child was tired or not.

Mrs. Tuhs quietly walked out and closed the door, leaving Astrid alone to sleep.

Meanwhile, Astrid was going through this body's memories, trying to understand where the issues were.

She noticed that the soup tasted faintly strange, and the smell... She was certain it was blood!

'Too little information. I guess getting healthy again would be good.' Astrid quickly fell asleep, her body was feeling extremely week.

.......

"The investment of 10 million into the local resort should come to a 33% profit, alongside this..." Within a small room with a group of professional-looking businessmen...

*Ring* The person talking immediately stopped, not from surprise, but from fear! 'Damn! I told everyone to turn their phones off!' He was fuming, how would he show his professionalism if they were interrupted...

But to his surprise, a powerful voice came from the helm of the table. "Apologies, let me take this." Now everyone in the room was sweating.

'What!? The big boss of Hanxi answered a phone call within a meeting! Everyone knew how professional he was. So it must be extremely important...

Little did they know, the so-called big boss of Hanxi, was listening to his wife talk about how his daughter ate dinner...

"She picked up the spoon on her own and started eating! *Sniff* I never thought I would see the day again. Ever since her condition appeared..."

Everyone in the room was stupified, as they watched the man often called 'Ice-demon' smile! He even chuckled!

"Don't worry about that. Since things have happened in that way... It's satisfactory." Despite speaking in such... Cold words, his wife understood immediately.

"Mm, I'll tell you later. Make sure to make loads of money for our baby! Bye-bye!" The voice on the phone was clearly in a good mood, so much so that it seemed to half the oppressive aura the 'Ice-demon' released.

"Alright, I'll see you soon." He spoke again, this time with a smile. As he put down his phone and stood up.

"The meeting is canceled." Then a royal decree was spoken from the man's mouth.

'H-Huh? Just like that? I got to see the Ice-demon smile... Heh, will the sun be blue tomorrow?' The man who was giving his important speech. Didn't feel angry or upset at all, the fact that the Ice-demon personally came to this was good enough for him!

The man walked out of the small room, behind him followed a man in his 50's he looked calm and composed, readjusting his glasses as he followed.

"Follow me Stephan." The man spoke, hence Stephen, the man's secretary and second in charge. Followed the order.

The CEO went into his own office and sat down at his desk. While looking at the photo frame on his desk with emotional eyes.

"Boss... Does it involve the Young Miss?" Stephan asked carefully, he knew that his boss loved his family. Not many people had seen or even knew about his boss' family. He was lucky enough to be trusted fully to know everything about his boss.

"Is it that obvious?" Mr. Tuhs picked up the picture frame and looked into it intently.

Stephan stayed quiet. He knew something good must of happened, his boss came in with flowers surrounding him! He didn't criticize any work. And listened into every single meeting... All were signs of good things!

*Sigh* "Ever since my Astrid became ill she started to not be able to eat. No matter what we did, she couldn't eat it. All doctors said was that she didn't want to eat. She barely kept any nutrition and is on more medication than her own grandfather." Mr. Tuhs spoke with a tear in his eye.

Stephan looked into Mr. Tuhs eyes, his boss was seen as someone so high in society. Untouchable, he was so rich he could have everything... But he was a human as well. He struggled to have a child with the one he loved the most. Then he was blessed with a child. Those early years were a blessing to the Hanxi corporation. But then he was hit with a train made of steel.

His daughter was taken as critically ill. Her physical and mental health deteriorated at an alarming pace. The man deemed untouchable and above so many... Just couldn't achieve the happiness he wanted.

"Stephan. My little Astrid ate on her own today. She even tried to get out of bed." Mr. Tuhs eyes glistened, as his smile crept on his face.

"Young Miss ate on her own! That's great!" Being a parent himself, he could never understand the woes the Tuhs family had. They loved their daughter with all their hearts. They wished to spoil her rotten, but then the heavens played a cruel joke on them.

Mr. Tuhs gently put down the picture frame. "Mmm, Siccily is barely holding up on her own. So I must join her." He spoke so softly, a father's and a husband's love flowing from his words.

Stephan smiled and prepared the car for his boss. Knowing exactly what must be done...
