(Chapter 11) Showing Her Skills

The class was confused, based on Mr. Dihl's temper, he should be exploding from anger by now. The man was extremely serious about students being serious during the lesson.

Astrid didn't care about the strange looks she was getting, she just wrote down the answers to the questions.

The lesson passed by quickly with Astrid sitting down not doing much after she finished the papers Mr. Dihl gave her.

The other students were too stressed to worry about Astrid right now. After Mr. Dihl went around and picked up everyone's papers. They finally had some time to make fun of Astrid.

Hearing the disgusting words from his students. Mr. Dihl honestly felt embarrassed. He was quite prideful of his good scores from tests, but now he knew that these students were quite disgusting.

"Alright, you can all go now. Astrid, I need you to stay behind for me please." Mr. Dihl let the students go early, they were only teenagers after all. A test of that difficulty would be tough.

The students all bundled out of the classroom. With Francesca and Winoa waiting outside.

Mr. Dihl's class had windows on the doors, he was quite relieved that Astrid had some support.

Astrid walked up to Mr. Dihl's desk. He looked at her expression and sighed.

"I know you're incredibly intelligent. So I won't beat around the bush. I'm an old friend of your father. He thought you would be bullied so he asked me for some help." Mr. Dihl explained.

Astrid nodded. "I know." Mr. Dihl gave a wry smile.

He had spoken that sentence in fluent English. And Astrid replied to him confidently... "I heard that you struggled with your studies last year. But with your knowledge of English... Tell me, were you holding back?" Mr. Dihl decided to inquire about something.

Astrid looked straight into Mr. Dihl's eyes. For a man who had lived for around half a century, he felt a pressure he didn't feel by even the old army generals.

"No, I had a lot of free time." Astrid never held back, just the old person occupying the body.

Looking at the teenage girl looking at him expressionlessly, Mr. Dihl obviously didn't believe her. How would it be normal for a person to learn a language fluently within 10 months? Even if they did have a lot of time. She was apparently incredibly ill.

Astrid had read some books on the English language of this world. The language was slightly different from the speech. But she understood the differences easily.

"Alright, I'll set some work for you to do during class. Just be careful of anything. I'll do what I can to help you out." Mr. Dihl was quite straightforward with his words. But he also would need to talk to the principal later...

Astrid just nodded in reply. She didn't take anything Mr. Dihl said to mind. He was a teacher, and he would have a lot of restrictions himself.

"Alright, go join your friends. Don't take the other student's words to heart." Mr. Dihl had a feeling that this girl was much more complicated than he expected.

Astrid lightly nodded and walked to the door. As she opened it, Francesca and Winoa walked up to her.

"Is everything okay?" Winoa asked first, she was tasked to support Astrid. So anything happening to her wouldn't be good.

Astrid nodded and started to walk to her next class. Maths.

The same thing happened in the maths class. Except the teacher looked at Astrid wearily. He had taught her the year prior. And he something was strange.

But after seeing some work by her, he immediately became serious, the formulas Astrid used were something not even the top lecturers in the country would use. They were extremely complicated, and made a mountain out of a molehill.

So he decided to test her, he found some questions that bothered even him.

The whole class was silent. Upon seeing the question Astrid was given, they were baffled. They had no idea what those numbers and symbols meant.

Francesca was in the same maths class as Astrid. She felt her maths was quite good. But when she saw Astrid effortlessly answer a question which their teacher took 30 minutes to solve. She felt her world shatter.

The teacher looked at Astrid with a burning gaze. "A genius, a genius." He mumbled to himself. As he waved Astrid back to her desk.

In fact, he was a respected mathematician hired from a French university. He was given quite a few benefits to work at a secondary school. Despite the school's high standards, he never expected to see such a genius in his life.

14 years old! And she was solving problems that his friends from across the globe struggled with! He suddenly wondered if this girl was not hiding her skills before. But rather was pressured to hide.

That wasn't a silly thought, as the teachers didn't know Astrid's background. They had never asked the principal either, so a smart girl being pressured because of a poor background wouldn't be too surprising.

"Alright, since it's lunch now. I'll let you all go early. Make sure to study what you have learned today." The teacher spoke gravely to the other students.

The other students felt quite strange. They might be arrogant, but not stupid. Seeing Astrid, someone they had bullied before, easily solve questions that they didn't understand at all. They lost their reason to bully her.

She wasn't mentally ill. She was actually extremely intelligent. They could bully her based on her background, but if all the teachers supported her, they wouldn't last a week in the school.

"Are you coming?" Astrid looked at Francesca, who was looking at her with sparkling eyes.

Francesca nodded excitedly. "Yeah! Let's go to Winoa's class." Francesca hurriedly leads the super genius behind her. Afraid she would change her mind.

Astrid followed behind her and then went to lunch. She took out her lunch from her bag and started to eat.

Winoa chose to eat outside on a bench. Knowing that Astrid liked the natural scenery.

Francesca went to the cafeteria and got some food. She joined the two, and spoke excitedly to Winoa about Astrid's maths.

Winoa was both surprised, but also extremely proud. Her Miss had decided to show how smart she was, also making the other students question bullying her or not.

Astrid coldly looked at her lunchbox, the judgment she made was correct, these teenagers didn't dare to risk getting expelled. So she will have peace and quiet for now.

Astrid's gaze then shifted over to the bush in the distance.

"Oh, the school keeps maintaining the garden with a lot of money. I guess having an external appearance is key for attracting students." Francesca decided to speak about the bushes which Astrid was interested in.

Astrid nodded, as she continued to eat her lunch. Despite being a madam of a rich household, Mrs. Tuhs lunch making skills were quite good...

After eating lunch, the three girls went to their lessons. Since Astrid showcased her intelligence, both Winoa and Francesca decided to no longer worry about Astrid's studies.

As they left, inside the bush, the bodyguard assigned to watch over Astrid felt a cold sweat down his forehead.

'The Young Miss has such a cold gaze! Wait, wait, there is no way the Young Miss was looking at me... Right?' Of course, how could a 14 year old girl be able to locate a professionally trained guard hiding? It shouldn't be possible.
