(Chapter 20) An Older Sister?

Leone was in a bad mood, he had to deal with the science teacher and the rest of the class laughing at him. Despite keeping his calm, he was still a teenager, having most of the class laugh at him was embarrassing.

He just ate the food he got in silence. But then he felt a presence to his left, looking beside him, he got himself a fright.

There Astrid was sitting with a lunchbox starting to eat. She didn't seem to care about Leone's expression as he stared at her.

"You... You..." He couldn't get the words out of his mouth. Just why was the top student in the year sitting next to him eating her lunch without a care?

Astrid looked at the source of the noise beside her. She looked at him calmly, making the young boy blush from embarrassment.

"Why are you sitting here?" Leone eventually stuttered out his question.

"Eating." Astrid answered crisply, as she went back to doing that.

Leone felt his eyebrows twitch. 'Hey, couldn't you be a bit more friendly?'

"You won't make any friends if you act like that." Leone replied as he looked down and played with his food.

"Says you." Leone now felt like leaving.

Leone calmed himself down, he never got angry at other girls. He believed in men making girls happy. Not getting angry at them...

"How do you know I don't have any friends?" But Leone was a young man, he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

Astrid stopped eating and looked at Leone. "You eat on your own, everyone in the class laughs at you, you never respond to others trying to talk to you in activities, you..."

"Alright, alright. I get it, I have no friends." Leone subsided immediately, he felt hurt listening to this girl.

Astrid nodded. Leone wondered if she felt bad for him or was making fun of him...

"Astrid! Here you are, come Winoa! I found her." Francesca's voice timely stopped Astrid from hurting Leone's pride much more.

Leone was surprised to see two girls sit at the same table. He then looked at the cold Astrid, and wondered how she made these friends...

"Ah who is this?" Francesca looked in confusion at Leone. She had never seen him in her classes before.

"Name's Leone." Leone puffed out his chest in pride.

Astrid looked at Leone with contempt, while Winoa had a strange look in her eyes.

"Oh hi, Leone! I haven't seen you in my classes before! What subjects do you do?" Francesca was more than happy to talk to another friend.

So this lunch consisted of Francesca making Leone talk about what subjects he takes, what he likes to eat. Sports he likes, and also, finding out he has an older brother...

"My brother is amazing, he has already taken over the company." It felt like a door was unlocked, it seemed Leone idolized this older brother of his...

The day came and went. With another person walking beside them, Astrid and Winoa found their car, while Francesca waited just a minute for hers.

"Don't you have to wait for your car?" Francesca asked in surprise upon seeing Leone walk off.

Leone shook his head. "Nah, I ride into school." He responded like it was natural. Which for this rich private school, it wasn't.

Francesca nodded in response, as she went into her car and went home...

.......

"Young Miss, who is that boy?" Winoa asked as the car drove off.

"Him? Mmm, someone interesting." Astrid replied honestly, she thought he was interesting. He had his identity hidden, and was clearly from a big family. Looking at his eating etiquette, and the way he explained his brother's business...

But Winoa took those words another way. Her face dropped hearing Astrid. 'Interesting!? Is the Young Miss interested in that boy!? How would Master react if that were true?' Winoa was quite innocent.

Astrid spent her time at home in the garden, she enjoyed the flowers, since winter was coming. She was afraid she might not have a lot of time to look at the flowers...

When it came to eating, Winoa was explaining their day to Astrid's parents. Even mentioning Leone, who Astrid spoke to first...

"Leone? Are you interested in this boy Astrid?" Mr. Tuhs asked with a stern expression. He would like to meet this boy who had his daughter speak to him...

Yes, he was petty. But Apart from him and Stephan and the butler, Astrid barely spoke to a male in her whole life. A father must be prepared for everything... Even murder.

"I guess." Astrid responded. Making Mr. Tuhs' face blacken.

'Humph, I'll see the brat that takes my daughter's heart. I'll make sure he can't stand again!'

As Mr. Tuhs was planning the execution of the brat. Mrs. Tuhs suddenly retched, and ran off to the bathroom.

Astrid's expression shifted drastically, she had seen her mother almost throw up multiple times over a week. Did someone dare to poison her mother?

Mr. Tuhs was also not in a good mood. As the dinner swiftly stopped, with Andrea going off to support Mrs. Tuhs.

When Mrs. Tuhs came back into the dining room, she had a pale face. But also a small smile hung on her face, as her hand reached her stomach...

"Dear, I think I should go to the hospital." Mrs. Tuhs spoke softly, after throwing up so much, she was now certain...

Mr. Tuhs obliged, he wasn't happy with his wife being ill all the time. While Astrid came along as well. She would like to see the bastard trying to poison her mother...

.......

"It's good news Mr. Tuhs, your wife is two weeks pregnant!" The nurse came back with a piece of paper and handed it to Mr. Tuhs.

He was stunned silly. As Mrs. Tuhs smiled.

Meanwhile, Astrid was blank. 'Pregnant? Mother is pregnant...' No one could tell the thoughts on her emotionless face.

"Pregnant! But... But." Mr. Tuhs didn't believe it. His wife struggled to get pregnant for so long. And now it was as easy as that!?

The nurse seemed to understand Mr. Tuhs thoughts. "Mrs. Tuhs previously struggled to be pregnant due to excessive stress and a hormone imbalance. With the tests, we believe that her giving birth previously had helped the imbalance, hence she could become pregnant easier." The nurse explained.

Mrs. Tuhs was shocked, stress and hormone imbalance? But the doctor previously said...

"Really? That's good. That's good." Mr. Tuhs was evidently excited.

Mrs. Tuhs took away her thoughts and looked at her daughter. Who looked baffled.

"Dear, you're going to be an older sister." Mrs. Tuhs spoke with a different kind of emotion that Astrid was used to.

Astrid didn't respond but nodded. She watched as Mr. Tuhs held Mrs. Tuhs' held blissfully. They then went back to the house to relay the good news.

Astrid struggled to sleep that night, the sense of warmth she felt suffocated her. 'I'm going to be a sister? Sister? My family is getting bigger... And warmer...' Something then flashed in her eyes, as she slept with a smile.
