(Chapter 32) A Cold Night

The man slightly frowned in response, as he looked at his bashful younger brother. He felt something was wrong.

Why would she follow him? It was clear his younger brother was beaten up again and she wasn't hurt so she must have been hiding. But she was a friend?

Looking at Astrid, the man narrowed his eyes. "I appreciate you being with my younger brother." He spoke coldly, as he looked back at Leone.

Leone felt a little awkward, something he never thought would happen had. Two icebergs had met and now were speaking to each other... one was his brother, the other was a girl in his school...

Astrid nodded and said nothing else, she lowed her head slightly. "I'll be going now then." She spoke softly, but left both brothers confused.

Astrid casually walked past the handsome man without even a glance, as her gaze was permanently fixed in front of her...

Leone was miffed, it was over? Just like that? "B-bro, Astrid isn't like that normally. She is quite nice to her friends." Leone was worried that his brother would think that she was being rude to him on purpose.

The man didn't pay any attention to Astrid's behavior. "Mother called me to take you home." Then the man dropped a bombshell on Leone.

"M-M-mother?" His whole body was paralyzed stiff. If he knew his mother well...

The man turned and started to walk down the alley. Caught in two minds, Leone was unsure whether to follow or not, but thinking that his punishment would be worse if he didn't follow his brother now, he relented. And followed with his head down low.

.......

"Are you alright?" Mrs. Tuhs asked Astrid as she walked in.

Astrid nodded. She didn't explain what she did. After all, she didn't do anything but follow Leone home quietly and then stand in an alleyway.

Mrs. Tuhs smiled in response and sent away Francesca with some work for her to do. Seeing Astrid was home Francesca didn't bother asking Astrid what she did. All she was focused on was the work she was given by Mrs. Tuhs.

Astrid then went into her room and opened her phone, she did some searching but was left frowning after an hour.

As it came to dinner, Astrid wasn't in a great mood. She had been trying to find out the identity of that man for the past hour and half but couldn't find anything online. She had nothing to go off on apart his relation with Leone. But since he was using a false surname in school, she would need to start with hacking to find his real family.

The dinner table was quiet as the princess was especially icy today. Astrid ate everything given to her, and then stopped at the soup.

She hesitated, but under the scrutiny of her mother, she started to eat it as well. She had started to feel that the strange soup was changing in taste, and not in a good way.

Astrid then went into her father's study to use his computer, this was normal to the house as she had been in there a lot often. So no servants even questioned what she was doing.

Astrid was left to start to learn how to effectively hack, she could hack in her previous world, but with different technology, she needed to learn the premise of this world.

She didn't notice the time as she finally got some information she had wanted, upon seeing the file in front of her she tapped the keyboard a few times, before seeing the screen turn black.

She was stunned momentarily, before the screen turned back to the desktop. Her face darkened, as she typed mercilessly to hide her tracks.

She had been spotted, she didn't know that there would be such an advanced anti-hacker program in this world, it had completely shut away from the page she was on. And even started to relay the information of the computer she was using to the other computer.

Astrid's eyes were now glazed with ice. She suddenly stopped typing, and reached for the plugs in the computer, pulling it out. Leaving it with no power.

She then stood up and walked out her father's study. Winoa was waiting outside, and upon seeing Astrid's colder than usual face, she unconsciously shuddered.

Astrid went over to the living room to see her father, seeing him reading a newspaper she opened her mouth to talk.

"The computer needs to be replaced. Disassemble it completely." Astrid's glacial voice stunned Mr. Tuhs, as he looked up at his daughter.

Seeing her poor mood he immediately nodded. "Alright, there will be another one tomorrow." He asked no questions, he had already signed over close to everything to his daughter, he just wanted her to finish school before he did anything else.

Astrid nodded and then proceeded to walk outside, Mr. Tuhs was baffled. And just made sure someone followed her quietly.

Since Winoa was her attendant, she also followed Astrid. But as Astrid was about to walk in to the garden as the moon reached its peak. Astrid told her to rest.

Winoa just nodded and told her not to stay up late. Astrid then went out into the garden and sat down on the bench for a while.

She stayed there for around 40 minutes, before the guard watching her believed that she was just sitting in the garden at night.

This news was sent to Mr. Tuhs and he would trust his daughter with his business, so if she stayed up later than normal, he wouldn't mind as long as it didn't hurt her health.

Astrid's silhouette then disappeared from the garden, as the front gate was opened and she went on a walk...
