(Chapter 48) A Fuming Father

As the party continued, Francesca was slowly being introduced to some directors and influential actors within the business.

Those people were no idiots, seeing Volgader walk around introducing her pupil to them, they knew the connections she wanted to establish for her.

They were quite happy to oblige, and actress that had caught the eye of someone like Volgader couldn't be bad...

Winoa roamed the hall creating her own connections. She was just known as a friend of Francesca, so when those businessmen saw some important directors already establishing connections with Francesca. They ordered their children to make a friendly impression on her friends.

While Leone roamed from Mr. Di Rui's side, to Francesca, to some actors. He was like a fish in a barrel. Making contact with almost everyone.

Astrid didn't do much of anything. She put herself in a corner, eating and drinking to her content. Although she couldn't have alcohol, she still enjoyed the other options.

Seeing his daughter eat almost an entire platter of strawberry cake Mr. Tuhs outwardly sighed, he liked that his daughter would eat a lot. But he worried that they had transformed her into a glutton.

Mr. Tuhs roamed meeting the businessmen that were connected to him. Of course he also had a conversation with Mr. Di Rui, as they talked some business.

But Mr. Tuhs' eyes were attracted to a slightly familiar figure. The man was sitting in the corner alone, but the regal posture, the pressurizing air near him. His background couldn't be hidden...

Given Mr. Tuhs had met the Elder Guilliano, he immediately realized who the young man was. He was quite surprised that his daughter had made friends with someone in the Guilliano family.

"I'm surprised, I didn't expect to see you in a place like this." Mr. Tuhs went over and spoke in a quiet voice, so no one would be eavesdropping.

Lewis moved his gaze over to Mr. Tuhs. He gave him a blank look before ignoring him.

Mr. Tuhs sighed. 'How rude.' He inwardly thought, he knew that he was connected to the school and held the second most power behind himself...

"Although I don't know why you are here today, you do have many eyes on you tonight." Mr. Tuhs gave a wry smile.

The number of actresses and girls looking at the man would account to the entirety of the hall. He might look to be trying to keep a low profile, but his face betrayed him...

Lewis eyes darkened momentarily before looking at Mr. Tuhs. "My cousin insisted I came." He then proceeded to lie with a straight face.

Lewis was the one who had suddenly turned up with Leone and basically escorted him. But Mr. Tuhs didn't believe this man would lie to him about something so petty...

Mr. Tuhs nodded in understanding. "Your grandfather mentioned that you were quite fond of that young man." He spoke the truth.

Lewis's expression didn't change, he remained stoic and cold. 'Why does he remind me of my daughter so much?' Mr. Tuhs couldn't help notice that his daughter was also wearing the same expression on her face, apart from the hidden glee in her eyes when she saw some food...

"Mr. Tuhs, is there something you wish to say?" Lewis was annoyed, he was blocked from watching Astrid as this man was in his way. But he wouldn't say that...

Mr. Tuhs's expression then turned stern. "Is there a reason you are staring at my daughter?" He had noticed that Lewis had been ignoring everyone who had come talk to him and instead kept his gaze in the general area where Astrid was at all times.

Lewis then showed a slither of shock on his face as he looked up to meet Mr. Tuhs's gaze. Seeing the seriousness, he then understood.

"Yes." He responded, he was gathering information.

Who was he kidding? What information would he gain apart from knowing that Astrid loved to eat?

While Mr. Tuhs felt his expression crack at his answer. "Why?" Was this bastard openly admitting he was looking at his daughter for more than an hour straight!? He had a death wish.

Lewis's eyes then showed some confusion. 'Why? Why?' Why couldn't he stop watching her? Why could he feel something when he watched Astrid's eyes gravitate toward the cakes she was given. Was he going mad?

Mr. Tuhs waited for an answer... But seeing his dazed face for 2 minutes had pissed him off. "You do realize she is 15 years old. I don't care if your satan or god himself. You dare lay your hands on her you won't be seeing the light of day." Mr. Tuhs threatened, did this boy think he would accept his actions?

Lewis then gave a small smile and a light chuckle. As Mr. Tuhs was stunned by the sudden outburst of emotions from the normally stoic man, he couldn't keep threatening him.

"I will wait for her." Mr. Tuhs's anger flared up upon hearing his next words.

'Huh!? Wait for her!? Bastard leave my daughter alone! Don't you dare try to stamp your name on her when she didn't say a word to you all night!' Mr Tuhs was fuming. It seemed he would need to warn his daughter...

Lewis ignored the anger coming from Mr. Tuhs. He had generally been quite surprised when he announced Astrid was his daughter. Now the IP address he received made sense, it was his house...

But then he narrowed his eyes as he thought about something. If Mr. Tuhs had a daughter, how did he hide it for so long? If he had a daughter, then she would have a mother...

He then remembered everyone mumbling about how 'Volgader' and Astrid looked strikingly similar. But when neither had any reaction upon seeing each other, they put their thoughts aside.

Lewis connected these dots. As he then looked at the fuming old man beside him.

"You are quite resourceful." Lewis then... Praised?

Mr. Tuhs's anger subsided in confusion from his words. What did he mean?

Mr. Tuhs had enough talking to Lewis. He then joined another conversation for some distraction from his anger.

Lewis then continued to happily watch Astrid. By now she was eating a shortbread, trying to not let the crumbles fall onto the floor.

He then thought back to the words he said earlier. He would wait for her? For the first time in his life he said what was on his brain by accident. But it was clear what those words meant.

But how could he fall in love so easily? He had inwardly explained to himself that it was just pure interest toward Astrid. Also the benefits he could receive...

But who was he deceiving? As the slither of warmth in his eyes suddenly flashed into a fierce ice storm when he saw a boy walk up to Astrid and try to talk to her.

The boy had a slight flush on his face as he talked to Astrid. While Astrid looked at him with detached eyes.

"Is there something you need?" She asked in an emotionless tone, she wasn't interested in acting as nice and virtuous women here.

The boy was stunned as he looked at Astrid's face. But seeing her stare directly at him, the back of his neck blushed as he stuttered.

"N-No, sorry for interrupting you." He mumbled as he gave a bow and ran away. Astrid looked at his running figure with cold eyes.

"What were you talking about?" She then heard a bitingly cold voice from behind her.
