(Chapter 104) Inviting The Old Master

Seeing Astrid come back in alongside his daughter who was wiping her eyes. Elder Guilliano was silent. 'What went on in that room?' He wanted to ask, but seeing the beeming smile on his daughter's face... He stayed quiet.

"Have a seat." Elder Guilliano waved his hand at Astrid, she then sat herself down next to her father.

"Do you have any goals for yourself? Asking your father I hear you currently run operations at Hanxi. But is there anything you want to do in particular?" This question earned Mrs. Guilliano a glance.

Astrid looked down, something she commonly did while thinking. Mr. Tuhs watched her out of the corner of his eye, a subtle smile always on his face.

Astrid then raised her head. "I can't tell you one of them yet. But I can say that my family will be revealing themselves in a few days. If you wish Old Master, Madam, you are both invited." Mr. Tuhs lightly chuckled.

'Oh dear, my daughter picked up my cheekiness...' Mr. Tuhs definitely picked up the humour in her tone. Lewis will definitely be inviting his grandfather to the banquet on the same day. But hearing this, the Old Master mustn't know yet.

Elder Guilliano eyes Astrid. Seeing no ill intentions in her eyes. He nodded. 'Again with them not being able to tell me something. Strange, it must be something that can't get out if she won't tell me.'

Elder Guilliano felt that Astrid was being very truthful with her words earlier. Admitting to the fact she doesn't have any qualifications after manditory school.

"Okay. As a major shareholder and also a friend. That is no problem. What is the date?" Elder Guilliano bit the bait.

"11th." Mr. Tuhs answered instead.

Elder Guilliano nodded. "Just under a week huh? Do you want me to do anything while I'm there?" There it was, another test.

Astrid shook her head. "No need, I invited you because of your friendship with my father. Not to abuse your power." Astrid straight up refused.

Elder Guilliano was quite happy with the response, many people would want to use his power in dealing with things. But that is only availiable to his grandson, he wouldn't influencce things anymore. He didn't want a leech next to his grandson.

Mrs. Guilliano then went on to ask a few questions about music and family, in which, Astrid answered them perfectly. Earning both her, and Elder Guilliano's approval in the meantime.

....

After another hour they finally took their leave. After telling the driver to drop them off at Hanxi, Astrid finally relaxed a little.

'Mm, I need a cigarette.' Astrid was really stressed right now. Mr. Tuhs chuckled seeing his daughter's face, which seemed irritable compared to normal.

When they were dropped off. Astrid immediately took out a cigarette and lit it. While her father watched.

"Who knew you would be so nervous meeting your boyfriends family? You looked just fine talking to him." Mr. Tuhs went to tease his daughter.

Astrid tutted in annoyance. "I wouldn't be as nervous if I was with Lewis instead of you. He is a better presence to be around." Mr. Tuhs was stunned.

'You are trying to show off your love in front of me huh!? Is Lewis really that good at calming you down? Maybe I'm too light on my daughter.' Mr. Tuhs couldn't help but sigh.

Mr. Tuhs never was an advocate for smoking, so when he learned that his daughter was smoking a few years ago he was quite upset, they cause a lot of damage to a person's lungs. But now he knew that his daughter was under so much stress He turned a blind eye.

"I'll be going back to the office, do you need a way back?" Mr. Tuhs asked as he looked at his phone.

Astrid shook her head. "No I'll be fine." Astrid replied as she finished her cigarette. And pulled out another one.

Mr. Tuhs nodded as he put his phone away. "Alright, be safe." He then went back to the elevator to work.

Astrid stayed smoking for another half hour. When she felt herself much calmer than before. She saw her car enter the car park.

She walked up to the car and got in the passenger seat. To her side, wasn't Winoa, but Lewis.

When she was in the other car, she messaged him to pick her up. Her father didn't even notice...

"How was it?" Lewis, still thinking they went out to eat, asked generally.

Astrid hummed in response, an indication that it was alright. So Lewis didn't ask more.

Lewis drove to their destination, which was one of Astrid's bases. After putting the car away safely, both of them got out.

"Astrid walked into her room inside and opened a locked cabinet. Inside were three large wine bottles. She took one out. And poured herself some red wine.

Lewis watched in silence as he sat down. A smile plastered on his face, he was quite happy to be with Astrid...

"Does it bother you?" Astrid then suddenly asked, earning a look of confusion from Lewis.

"Does what bother me?" Lewis wanted to blurt out no. Nothing she would do could ever bother him. But he kept that to himself.

Astrid then looked at the red wine in the glass. While Lewis smiled in recognition.

That red wine... Wasn't wine at all. Rather it was blood. It was something Astrid had gotten used to, and rather addicted to. The taste differed greatly on the person. And it was much better than the rubbish she had before...

Lewis raised his eyebrows. As he stood up and held Astrid's hand. "If it bothered me, why would I be here?" Lewis answered with a suitable question. Which made Astrid think.

Meeting his grandfather on her own made Astrid a little nervous, in fact, too nervous. 'What if he doesn't like me? What if he didn't like my eye? What if he got Lewis engaged to someone else? What if he refused Lewis's relationship with her?' All these questions ate her mind. And she was slowly going mad.

'What if he... Mm, this tastes good.' Astrid was stuck in her own thoughts, when she suddenly felt something tasted sweet...

Lewis kissed her. Seeing Astrid completely lost in thought immediately made him think that something happened today. But he wouldn't ask, he will wait for her to tell him first. But he can make her more relaxed...

Astrid naturally responded, as they both ended up in the same situation as earlier today. Hungrily kissing each other. Out of love...
