Chapter 6 Zombie Police

"An average adult's attribute value is only five points? Am I really about twice as strong as an average adult? Am I really that powerful?" Zhang Yanhang knew himself best and, while confident he could easily defeat two adults, he felt that his physical fitness hadn't yet reached twice that of an adult.

After all, with physical fitness, one plus one absolutely doesn't equal two; it has to amount to at least three or even more.

Take, for instance, Zhang Yanhang's least confident attribute, Agility. His current running speed is about ten meters per second, which means it takes ten seconds to run a hundred meters, just barely reaching the so-called Olympic champion speed before the Spiritual Qi Recovery.

For a university student's physical test, a perfect score in the fifty-meter run requires 6.6 seconds. To double that pace, Zhang Yanhang would need to complete it in 3.3 seconds. However, his speed would demand at least five seconds for fifty meters, so his current Agility certainly hasn't reached twice that of an ordinary adult.

Thus, Zhang Yanhang felt that this attribute value probably couldn't be calculated so simply.

After looking over the most prominent attribute values, Zhang Yanhang checked his Life Value and Energy Value. These two were relatively straightforward to understand—simply a digitization of his life and the spiritual energy within his body—but what he found incredibly unbelievable was the recovery speed.

"Two points of Life Value recovery per hour, and with a total of 150 points, it would only take seventy-five hours to fully recover. Does this mean even if I'm gravely injured or nearly dead, I can recover in just two or three days? Isn't that a bit too fast?"

Initially, Zhang Yanhang even felt that recovering only two points of Life Value per hour was slow, but he quickly realized how absurd this recovery speed was. After all, there's a common saying about injuries affecting bones and muscles taking a hundred days to heal. Even a simple fracture requires several months of recuperation, let alone anything more severe.

Yet now, even if Zhang Yanhang fell into a near-death state, he could recover within just three days—it had to be admitted, this digitized body was truly formidable.

After reviewing the upper half of the data list, Zhang Yanhang began to check the lower half, but there was evidently nothing of concern there. The so-called Talent was the Superpower that Zhang Yanhang had awakened, and the skill listed as Limitless Universe Skill was the cultivation technique he was currently practicing.

"So, the question now is, what should I do?" Just as Zhang Yanhang was feeling perplexed, he suddenly heard a strange roar coming from next door, a sound that did not seem human.

"Now that I have what's called a Level, and a digitized body, and since there are monster roars coming from next door, should I perhaps go and level up by hunting monsters?"

Zhang Yanhang felt his logic was fairly sound, but whether it was leveling up or merely delivering himself to death depended on how strong the next-door monster really was.

Thus, Zhang Yanhang thought it might be wise to first acquire some information through certain channels about exactly what kind of monster was next door before going to kill it. After all, though his body was digitized, he still had only one life, unlike in games where you can resurrect endlessly, so caution was necessary.

As Zhang Yanhang was pondering this, he found himself caught in a Time Pause again, and a new text option box appeared in front of him.

[Would you like to go out and hunt monsters?]

[Option One: Yes (Go out now to start hunting monsters of the Ashen World. In room 302 next door, you will find a First Tier Zero Star Police Zombie. After killing it, you can pick up a Beretta 92F pistol and two spare magazines each loaded with fifteen bullets.)]

[Option Two: No (Worry about whether you can defeat the monsters of the Ashen World and keep fretting about whether to go out to hunt. After an hour of indecision, drowsiness gradually overtakes you, and you fall asleep on the ragged wooden bed in your room, sleeping very deeply. Afterwards, you will leave the Ashen World in your dreams and return to the real world.)]

[Option Three: Wait a bit (You plan to explore the room you're currently staying in for a while, looking for items that could be used as weapons, then go out and hunt the Ashen World's monsters.

In three minutes, you'll encounter a Wandering Goblin Merchant on the stairway to your left. Although it's a First Tier Three Stars Elite Monster, it has very low combat strength, making it easy to kill, and you might find some interesting items on it.)]

"Zombies? Goblins? So it's just that level of creatures, huh? I thought I might encounter something like aliens or cyborgs." Seeing the information provided by the Multiple Choices, Zhang Yanhang felt immediately more relieved. With his strength, zombies and goblins were quite manageable.

"Now the question is, should I kill the zombie first or the goblin? The goblin will arrive in three minutes; there's so little time. If I go for the zombie first, I might miss the goblin. Though I don't know what the interesting item is, it's likely something useful..."

After thinking it over briefly, Zhang Yanhang decided he should probably kill the goblin first because he wanted to know what exactly the interesting item referred to.

But although he had come to a decision, Zhang Yanhang wasn't ready to make a choice immediately. He planned to use the time during the Time Pause to delve deeper into exploring the room, looking for items that could be used as weapons and things that might be useful, so that he could just pick them up once the Time Pause ended.

The room Zhang Yanhang was in was a one-bedroom measuring only about thirty to forty square meters, so it was the kind of place where everything was visible at a glance. The possible hiding places for weapons were limited, including under the bed, the bedside table, the wardrobe, and the kitchen.

However, Zhang Yanhang had already searched the wardrobe earlier and found nothing but a few old clothes inside.

So, next, Zhang Yanhang just needed to search under the bed, the bedside table, and the kitchen.

Zhang Yanhang quickly checked under the bed and the bedside table but didn't find anything that could be used as a weapon; he only found a tattered old English newspaper, which could barely be considered useful.

Of course, the old newspaper itself wasn't useful. In fact, given its ragged material, hardly anyone would dare use it for wiping, as there was a risk it might tear while wiping. And if an English newspaper couldn't even serve as emergency toilet paper, where else could it be useful? Wallpapering? Not a chance.
