Chapter 6: Bad Visions

I get back to my bedroom and Jayden is still sleeping, so I quietly go sit next to him on the bed. I look down at him and he looks so peaceful. I can't help but to touch his hair and run my finger down his jawline. I've never noticed how beautiful and perfect he is. The way the moonlight shines in the window, it makes him look even more beautiful.

I lay down and put my head on his chest and I hear his heart start beating faster. I tilt my head up to look at his face and I start tracing my fingers along his jawline and his collarbone. I see his eyes flutter open.

"Im sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." I say, apologetically.

He puts his arm around me and looks into my eyes, "That's okay, you don't have to apologize."

We lay there and stare into each other's eyes for what feels like eternity. He sighs and looks away.

"Is everything okay?" I ask.

He looks back at me and smiles, "everything's okay, I think I just need a shower. You should get some more sleep."

He gets up to take a shower and I try to fall back asleep.

———————

I'm in the woods with Arcadia, we're running.

"Get to the house Rose! Do not worry about me, no matter what happens."

We reach the hill and start running up, but someone grabs Arcadia.

"No!"

"Rose run!"

I try to turn back for Arcadia but my body won't let me, I just keep running up the hill. I turn around just in time to see someone slit Arcadia's throat.

"Arcadia! No!" I scream, I reach the hill and sink to my knees. "Nooo!"

———————

I wake up to see Jayden standing there in a towel, wide eyed, shaking me awake.

"Olivia are you okay?!" He asks, concerned.

I feel empty and scared and broken. I just watched Arcadia die and it felt so real, I nod my head yes but I can feel tears welling up in my eyes.

He sits down on the bed and pulls me into his arms, and then I start sobbing into his chest. There's a knock at the bedroom door and he yells for whoever to come in.

"What happened?" Asks Beth, with Celeste standing right behind her.

Jayden holds me tighter, "I'm not sure, I went to take a shower and then I heard her yell, must have been a bad vision."

Beth shuts the door and then she walks over and sits on the bed, running her fingers through my hair, "we'll take it easy today. Jayden, just stay and comfort her and I'll send you guys up some food. Okay?"

Jayden nods and Beth leaves the room with Celeste.

Jayden held me tight and ran his fingers through my hair, and then we heard a knock at the door.

"Come in!" Jayden says.

A little red haired girl walks in with some oatmeal and fruit, she smiles as she hands the food to Jayden.

"Thank you ma'am, what's your name?"

"I'm Katie, sorry for bothering you. I wanted to meet Olivia."

I let go of Jayden and sat up, "no worries, nice to meet you Katie, how old are you?" I ask with a smile.

"Nice to meet you, I'm 7."

Just then another girl walks into the room, it's Nevada. "Come on Katie, let's leave Olivia alone. We're sorry for bothering you," she smiles.

"You're not bothering me- is she your daughter?"

Nevada nods, "yes and my husband is here if you'd like to meet him later. But I heard you've had a rough morning, so we'll let you get some rest." She grabs Katie's hand and they walk out, shutting the door behind them.

"Are you hungry?" Jayden asks.

I nod my head yes so he puts the food on the table and pulls out the chair for me, before sitting down in the other chair. We start eating quietly before he finally breaks the silence, "I know the visions can be hard sometimes, they can scare you or break your heart, the emotion feels so real with the visions. When you get your memories back, you will live through each of Ida's lives, that will be the hardest part. It takes a couple of days to get through them all, and I'll be right by your side the whole time. I'm here and I will hold you in my arms through anything you need me to."

I look up at his concerned face, "thank you Jayden."

We finish our food and then he brings the dishes downstairs, he comes back up and sits down on the bed, patting the spot next to him.

I go and sit down and then he turns to me, "I know that your vision has affected you heavily, would you like to talk about it?"

I think for a second and then I decide to tell him what happened, "I've been having visions of the last Arcadia, in the visions I was Rose, the last Ida. Arcadia eventually found out I wasn't Rose and he started trying to help me. My visions starting hopping through time, but most of my visions are with Arcadia. In my last vision, we were running. And I turned around and..." I pause as my eyes start to water and my voice starts to crack.

"And then someone, I'm guessing the fallen angels, killed him. I watched him die. I feel like a part of me died too, even though I barely knew him..."

Jayden wraps his arms around me and holds me close to his chest, "Oh Olivia, I'm so sorry."

I sob into his chest and he twiddles my hair through his fingers, "Part of the visions is seeing how the last Ida and Arcadia died, evoking the same emotion is supposed to help you remember. I wish you didn't have to go through all of this." He says with a sigh.

"I was Rose.... which meant Rose had to watch her love die...."

"I know, is there anything I can do for you Olivia?"

I shake my head, but then I realize a shower might help.

"I think I'm going to go take a shower," I say, getting up.

I walk into the bathroom and I feel a vision starting.

———————

Arcadia and I are running though the woods, it feels the same as last time.

Someone grabs Arcadia and my feet won't stop running up the hill, it's exactly like before. I try not to look behind me, knowing what's about to happen but for some reason, I can't stop myself from looking. I have no control over my body.

"Arcadia! No!" I fall to my knees once again, "Nooo!"

———————

I open my eyes and I'm sitting on the bathroom floor, but I can feel somebody's arms around me.

I look up and see Jayden, "it was the same exact vision again." I say through my tears.

"I'm here, I'm here," he comforts me, "I'm not going to leave your side again until your visions stop."

I lean my head into his chest and let the sound of his heart calm me down. We get up and he walks over to the jacuzzi.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"I'm helping you relax," he replies, while turning on the water and walking out toward the door.

"But wait! I thought you wouldn't leave my side again?" I say desperately.

"I will be right back, don't move." And with that he walks out.

I don't like the thought of being alone, I need him close to me. I don't know why, but being around him makes me feel safe, he makes me feel like nothing can hurt me. A few moments he walks in with a cigarette, but it wasn't a cigarette, it was Celeste's herbs.

He turns off the water to the jacuzzi and turns on the jets and pours something into the water, "Get in."

I look at him shyly, "Um..." he nods his head knowingly and turns around so that I could get undressed and get in the water without him seeing my naked body.

"Okay," I say once I'm in the water. He turns back around and sits on the jacuzzi ledge. I can already feel my body starting to relax from the nice warm water, and probably from whatever he put in the water.

He lights the joint and then puffs on it a few times before going to hand it to me, "my hands are wet, can you get me something to dry them?"

"Here I can help you," he says, bringing the joint to my lips. I puff on it a couple of times and then he puffs it again. We sit and talk while he passes the joint back and forth between our lips, while using his other hand to stroke my hair.

"Are you feeling any better?" He asks.

I think about it for a second, and I realize that I'm feeling a lot better, "yes, thank you."

We finish the joint and he puts it into an ashtray before coming back over to sit by me. He strokes my hair and rubs my neck and shoulders, his touch leaving me with a tingling sensation, I wanted more.

"You should get in with me," I say, looking at him to see his reaction.

He looks shocked, "I'm not the one that's supposed to be relaxing, Olivia"

"I just want... I want more..." I say, shocked by my own words but I can feel my body filling with desire.

He gulps and I can see desire in his eye, but then he turns his head away, "I can't Olivia, not right now. Sometimes the herbs can make you think you want things that you don't actually want." He almost looks like he's hurt.

He keeps rubbing my neck and shoulders but his touch is making it so I can't focus on anything else. All I can think about is what I want him to do to me, but I don't think it's because of the herbs. I close my eyes and try to relax, until I hear a knock on the bedroom door.

"I'll be right back," Jayden says, getting up and walking out of the bathroom. I start to panic, but then he walks back in the bathroom with a tray, "Beth brought us lunch."

He brings me a washcloth to dry my hands and then hands me a plate with a sandwich, he sits down on the ledge to eat his sandwich and I turn so that I'm facing him. We eat in silence and then he puts our plates back onto the tray.

I ask him to grab me a towel so that I can get out. He walks over with the towel and without even thinking, I stand up to grab it from him. His eyes travel down my body and then he quickly looks away, blushing. I can feel the high from the herbs wearing off, but the thought of his eyes traveling my body fills me with even more desire than I had before.

He stands there, turned away while I get dressed. We walk out of the bathroom and there's a knock on the door so I go to answer it, it's Celeste.

"Hey Olivia, how are you feeling?" She asks.

"I'm feeling a lot better, thank you."

"Can I talk to you alone?"

Jayden looks at me to make sure I would be okay without him, so I nod.

"I'll just bring these plates downstairs," he grabs the tray and plates out of the bathroom and he leaves the room.

I look at her nervously, wondering what she would need to talk to me alone for.

She senses that I'm nervous and she smiles, "nothing's wrong don't worry, I just am curious about you and Jayden. I sense something between you two."

I blush and look away, "there's nothing going on between us, he's just been helping me get through all of this."

She looks at me and grins, "Whatever you say, but I think that you like him."

I blush again, "I don't really know, to be honest."

"He likes you too, I can tell." She says, "I'll get going now, we will start with your memories and your powers tomorrow."

She gives me a hug and walks out of the room, just as Jayden walks back in.

As soon as the door shuts, he looks at me concerned, "is everything alright?"

I thought about my conversation with Celeste, and I couldn't help but to blush, "everything's okay, it was just girl talk."

He raises an eyebrow and then grins, "alright, good."

The way he looks at me fills me with a tingling sensation, and I just want to grab him and kiss him.

"Will you come lay down with me? I think I need a nap." I ask while climbing into the bed.

He nods his head and comes to lay in the bed with me, but he lays far away from me. For some reason it makes me sad.

I lay on my side facing him and then I grab his hand and lace our fingers together. I don't know what I'm doing or what I'm feeling, or how he's feeling. I felt exposed and alone, even though he was just on the other side of the bed. I moved over so I could be closer to him, and then I started drifting off to sleep.
