I raised my hand and challenged him to come at me. And so he did. Alaric quickly teleported behind me and tried to punch me in my jaw again but I simply blocked his incoming attack with the back of my hand and grabbed him by the neck.
I threw him against the walls once more, damn those walls are having a tough time. He coughed some more blood, but his resolve grew by the minute. It seemed like he was determined to change me back to normal, how foolish, come to the dark side, we have cookies.
I started analysing his spatial teleportation ability. I just kept dodging his attacks and watched him come at me. He seemed to be pouring magic from his eye towards a certain space in the room. So it wasn't really him that was being transported but it was his magic. Of course he could go through the portals if he wanted to but it seemed like he didn't do that all the time. Sometimes only a fist would go through or a kick.
Me understanding his ability meant it was easier to dodge. I just dodged every sign of magic and made sure that I was on high alert at all times. But I could already felt my power running out, luckily I had enough rage to fuel my power on so that wasn't going to go any time soon. The power of hunger was too overwhelming.
Alaric backed off a bit and gasped for air. I had hit him through one of his own portals. I let him catch some air, I was going to drag this out as long as I had to. I wanted to let him suffer. Of course it was hard to overcome my instinct to immediately attack him but I managed my power a little better now, I was still 99% anger but I had become 1% common sense. Which was enough to startle me a little.
Alaric profited from me putting my guard down but I quickly retaliated, I tried to punch his portal but to my dismay when I tried to punch him not only his fist came out but his entire body. I punched his body but when I went to punch his body, my body fully passed through him.
His body turned into smoke and when I looked back I saw another portal, that was the real him, he had made a fake body of some kind using his spatial teleportation. He shimmered his real body through small portals that were all around his body so it seemed like it was the real him but when you went to punch it you would pass straight through.
I was outsmarted by Alaric, he came up from behind me and punched me straight into the ground. I tried to get up but my power had left me and Alaric punched me again on my head. Again I had passed out, 3 times in 3 days, I had achieved a hat-trick.
When I woke up my head hurt like a bitch. It felt like somebody kept banging a gong next to my head. The sound was very persistent, it didn't go away. My ears were filled with an immense ringing. I tried to shake it off but with no avail.
''So you're awake, lil bro.'' When I looked up I saw Alaric, but I had no hateful emotions anymore. But I felt remorse, I had killed Damian for no good reason and I had hurt Alaric, a lot. His face was filled with bruises and little cuts, ''It seems the effects of the blood wore off, good.'' He tried to grin but his face twisted into a painful expression.
''What happened, I can barely recall what happened, only that I killed Damian, and then my vision just went red.'' I could barely speak, my throat was dry and my back hurt, a lot I could barely sit straight. My ribs weren't fully healed yet from the last battle and here I was, getting beat up again.
I could make out from the state of the room that something big went down. The walls were an absolute mess. They used to be these straight black walls, with bricks and soundproof gear so you couldn't hear if somebody would yell. But nearly all the bricks were destroyed.
''This…'' Alaric pointed at the walls and the state me and Alaric were in, ''Is why you drink in moderation lil bro.'' I was in shock, I couldn't imagine that I had done all of this. There was so much damage and Alaric was heavily injured. The effects of blood were way stronger than I thought.
''You were so hungry you immediately drained another body, you went all primal instinct on me.'' Alaric tried to laugh but clutched his sides in pain. My body seemed less injured than he was. The ringing had stopped and I observed my body, there were some slight bruises but not anything major. It seemed like I had absorbed most of the damage somehow. Blood had some insane properties if you drink too much.
''Will I ever be able to drink blood without causing such a mess?'' Alaric shrugged at my inquiry, he sat on the chair in the middle of the room, the chair's back was torn off but it obviously was still better than standing.
''I think you should be able to, but you need to learn to drink in moderation and not succumb to your instincts, I know it's hard, I also struggled when I was younger.'' Alaric said with a smile, he didn't seem to blame me, well at least that's what I hoped.
''Are you alright?'' I asked him with a concerned tone. ''I'll live, but that sure was a hell of a fight. I haven't had that much fun in ages!'' Alaric said with an excited look on his face. I couldn't believe his face, we were both in tatters, but he really seemed to have enjoyed it.
''Well what do we do now? Do we go back?'' I inquired, Alaric shook his head. ''Let's wait a couple of hours. We can barely move and we'll stand out if we head into Diagon Alley like this.''
Stand out? How would we even stand out? There are people there that have the weirdest of animals on their shoulders or just running around on a leash. How would we stand out if we just had some bruises.
I shrugged and didn't say anything about it. I wanted to go back, but the cold wall against my back was also comforting. It alleviated some of the pain, but suddenly I had an idea. ''Why don't we go back on my broom?'' I asked Alaric thoughtfully.
Alaric seemed to consider my offer, ''Might not be that good of an idea, you've never ridden a broom, but then again, no time to learn like the present.'' With those words I stood up and took my broom out of the expanded beaded bag on my waist.
First before we went all out I did some training in the feeding room. I called the broom and it responded after my first ''Up'', I tried sitting on it and maintaining balance. Which went pretty well, I could stay upright and descend and go upwards whenever I felt like it.
The broom seemed to respond to my magic, and since my magic is stronger than most 10 year olds it was much easier to control. Alaric got on the broom and I could say it was manageable, it was hard but doable.
Suddenly Raiden spoke in my head, 'Are you normal again b0ss?' He said with a fearful tone. 'Yeah I'm all good again, sorry for if I said some mean stuff or anything.' I could feel Raiden's relief when I said those words. 'It's good to have you back! You become scary when you drink some blood dude.' I chuckled inwardly 'Tell me about it bro.'
We both laughed and just like that we had made up. 'By the way b0ss, if you try to fly at higher altitudes you won't be able maintain it, I'll lend you some of my magic so you can get back safely. ' I expressed my gratitude towards Raiden but he told me not to mention it, but he made me promise to never try to shut him up forcefully again, or there would be hell to pay.
And to be honest I believed him so I quickly promised him that it would never happen again. I told Alaric that we would be fine now since Raiden is helping me and we went outside. Luckily we didn't have to fly far, we had to fly to Hyde Park or at least nearby there. Then we could quickly use the portkey and return back to the manor.
We went into an alleyway so nobody could see us and we set off. I was struggling at the beginning but after a little while I could feel the effects of Raiden pouring his magic into my magic pool and then I had enough strength to fly us at a high enough altitude so nobody would see us.
Alaric pointed me in the direction of Hyde Park and we flew to that direction. The only problem was getting down now. We would never get down without somebody seeing us. It was a sunny winter day, and it's really rare to see the sun in Britain so everybody was outside.
I was also already using too much magic so I was getting a bit tired. I was really struggling to keep the broom at the same altitude and Alaric was getting a bit nervous behind me. And who could blame him.
Finally I saw a spot which didn't seem to be crowded, I quickly descended and we landed safely in an alleyway, when we landed we scared the socks of some random hobo. ''Aliens! Aliens are upon us!'' He shouted and ran off, straight into a wall. When he got back up he quickly ran towards the streets.
I put the broom back into the beaded bag and we headed towards Hyde park. ''That was some good flying lil bro, why don't you try out for a quidditch team when you're in Hogwarts?'' I looked at him with a thoughtful expression. I had never thought about it, I always thought that Quidditch was a dangerous sport, a bit too dangerous for my liking. Breaking your bones was normal in that sport and I wasn't really sure if I wanted to be in Madam Pomfrey's care every other Sunday.
I replied with a straight face, ''I'm not sure yet, seems dangerous.'' Alaric laughed at my response, ''Of course it is! It's the thrill and glory why people, I'm especially a big fan of the Holyhead Harpies!''
I sighed when I heard him say that. ''I'm pretty sure you just like them because they only have witches in their team.'' I responded drily. Alaric's face became red when I said that. ''Uhm... '' He said, I clearly had pinpointed why he was such a big fan of them.
I chuckled, Alaric was predictable when it came to women. We entered Hyde park and hurried to the backside of the statue. We both touched it at the same time and we were both pulled in. When I opened my eyes we were back at the little structure with the statue of Vlad Drakul. He was looking down with a disdainful expression.
''Finally… We're home.'' I said, I hadn't been this hungry since the spirit training with Lycan. I couldn't wait to eat some pastries when I got back inside. One thing I was frightened of was the scolding that I would get. But at least it wouldn't be entirely directed at me, but some at Alaric as well. One thing that I also was excited about was that I could finally listen to my discman in peace. I wonder which CD I should listen to first...
