Chapter 9

*Asahi P.O.V.*

I had been walking the halls, trying to find a space away from the crowd. Everything has been so irritating lately. All of us often together, but so emotionally distant. I find some peace: a spot where no one else seemed to be. Plopping down on the bench, I let out a long held back sigh, running my fingers through my curly, blonde locks.

I hear footsteps which soon come to a halt in front of me. His feet are facing me, and I look up to meet those bright red orbs. "Asahi, is it? Or should I call you Master?" His words are joking and friendly, but his tone is serious. I tense up, glaring deep into those cold eyes. I gaze back down, ignoring his presence. 'I don't have time to waste on my underclassmen.' I can see his frown out of the corner of my eye. "What's your deal, man?"

I choke on my spit. 'Did he just.. "man" me?'

"I don't like you," I mumble.

"Well, that wasn't obvious." The boy rolls his eyes at me, not minding to be sarcastic with his senpai.

"Don't try me, kid. If you hurt her I will kill you, nothing personal. I'm just not very fond of you or other guys in general." I bring my face up close to his, snarling at him.

He only smiles. "Oh I think that's all personal." Suddenly an aura pours out of him. One stronger than anything I'd ever felt before. What is it? But I know it isn't something I could face. I back down a bit. He starts to back away from me. "But I think you're a little too focused on me, you're losing sight of the real dangers." He sends me one last glance, "There's someone waiting for you."

He leaves, and I turn my attention to where he was looking: a pillar behind me. I approach it, picking up on the sound of someone's breath and a heavy heartbeat. I slowly approach it, silently and clutching the fabric of my slacks.

As I turn the corner, there she was. A familiar and dear face. "Tsurara?" I ask. Had she been listening? Her soft, blushing expression. She was so cute. "Is there something you wanted to say?"

"No! I was just passing.." I draw closer to her face. Her eyes are swollen.

"Are you okay?" I stare down at the cookies in her hand. As she told me her thoughts which sunk into my skin. This sweet notion was different from her fights with Ageha over random men. Ones that often bothered me, but this seemed to hurt more. So she did have someone she was serious about. But she felt so far from me. I wished she trusted me enough to tell me a little more. Though I admit I'd struggle to resist killing him.
