After what seemed like an eternity, they stopped at a classroom. As they walked in, a woman who apparently was the form teacher, stood in front of the class and seemed to be dishing out pieces of advice to the students.
As he walked in, the classroom fell into silence then there was an uproar all of a sudden, everyone had something to say to a neighbor but not loudly though. They were mummuring what ever seemed so suddenly important to talk about.
Jeremy felt pissed. Again those ogling eyes.
The girls in the class made wierd gestures at him, some he recognized and understood, some he didn't.
He walked to the seat the form teacher indicated for him to seat on.
Just great. Smack center between two girls who had smiles on their faces so wide they looked like mentally deranged individuals who had just escaped an asylum and saw something that interested them.
Jeremy sat and put on his best poker face, staring at the board, without uttering a word to the girls or anyone else.
He sank into his thoughts as the form teacher spoke, her voice a distant haze in his ears.
Suddenly he felt some tap his shoulder which jolted him from his reverie.
Jeremy turned to her brows raised, a no nonsense look on his face.
The girl's smile wiped off her face instantly, her initial bravery vanishing.
"I'm sorry....bbutt you're being called" the girl stammered, pointing to the front of the class.
He turned to the form teacher. She was standing in front of the class, hands akimbo, staring at him expectantly.
He raised his brows at her as he had not heard what she said.
"You are yet to introduce yourself to the class" the teacher said, her expression quickly turning into that of impatience.
"I don't think it's necessary" Jeremy replied bluntly, pulling a novel out of his bag.
The class fell into death silence, the teacher was shocked and she didn't bother about hiding it because her mouth hung open then it shut and her face flushed red with annoyance.
She stomped out of the classroom.
Jeremy couldn't care less about the bomb he just dropped. After he spoke, he'd bowed his head and continued reading the novel which he started.
He only looked up when the class became suddenly noisy and found the teacher gone, only then did he bring out his mobile phone, letting out a deep sigh.
He inserted his earpiece and went straight to his music library, picked a song and leaned back on his seat, his novel in front of him.
He was deeply engrossed in the novel and was midway flipping a page when he felt another touch on his skin.
Jeremy groaned inwardly. 'Why couldn't a person just enjoy some fucking peace and quiet around here' he thought.
He glanced up and found three girls standing in front of him.
He freed one ear from his earpiece and returned his gaze to the novel, without uttering a word.
"Hello cutie" the girl in the middle said with a smile, palms intertwined in front of her legs.
Jeremy lifted his head, stared at her for 5 seconds and returned to his book.
He'd understood instantly the moment he set eyes on them.
They were the queen bees of the school.
Every school had one of those and he'd known from experience to avoid queen bees. They were nothing but trouble, brought nothing but trouble.
"hey are you deaf, aren't you the one she's talking to?" the girl at the right said, standing hands akimbo.
That did it for Jeremy. These bitches had to have a piece of his mind and give them a piece he did.
"listen I need some privacy here alright? as you can see I'm busy reading ....you know what reading is right? that thing you do with a book, your brain and your eyes?" he said, leaning back on his seat.
"moreover" he added, " I don't feel comfortable with the stench emanating from your bodies where in hell did you get your cologne cos it ain't on earth or in heaven else it wouldn't stink this bad" he finished, scrunching up his face.
The girls were stunned to silence.
Jeremy returned his attention to the book he was reading only this time, he bent his head on his desk, completely ignoring the stares of the fucking queen bees in front of him and their angry red faces.
After sometime, he raised his head and found the three things still standing in the same spot, staring at him,not moving an inch.
"what are you three ugly bitchy asses still doing standing in front of me?" he asked, raising his brows.
The girls flushed red with embarrassment but they still didn't move.
"are you deaf? can you just leave my desk so I can breathe properly" he said smirking.
The faces of the girls grew more red with embarrassment.
Other students held their palms to their mouth in shock and let out audible gasps.
"what the..." the girl on the left started and made to attack him but was held back and shushed by the one in the middle.
Apparently, the was the leader of the bees. She held up her hands to shush the other girls then she gave him a glance with an expression he couldn't understand then she cat walked back to her seat with the two girls in tow.
The students were expecting a show. They were terribly disappointed when the girls walked away and another teacher came in.
Everyone began grumbling.
They had just lost the opportunity to watch a good show. It wasn't everyday they saw someone stand up to Lisa and her gang, yet this drop dead newcomer Adonis had just talked her silly.
It was beyond delightful.
"shut that dirty mouth of yours" the teacher barked angrily as the students had completely ignored his existence and were still chattering excitedly amongst themselves.
Even with his order, they still did a lot of chattering and grumbling but some of it had died down. The man continued anyway.
"I know you don't like my subject but it doesn't mean i'll stop coming to this classroom.
I didn't come here to teach so just listen to what I have to say you bunch of nincompoops" he seethed but then he continued....
"there's a new school activity to commence next week...the acting society's doors are open to recruiting new members. Starting next week, students interested in acting would be registered and begin practice" this announcement brought cheers and hollers from the students across the classroom.
Everyone suddenly had something to say and Jeremy just sat and watched the drama.
Yup.... he was totally in hot soup. How in the world was he to keep alive in this asylum.
"alright...recess over.. let's get down to business the teacher said, opening a page in the textbook he held in his hand.
The excited chatter instantly turned into mumbling and grumbling.
The teacher had apparently killed the mood. Just as he had found the page and wanted to begin, the bell rang for recess.
The students laughed happily, more cheers errupted. The teacher's face turned beet red and he walked out of the classroom.
Jeremy returned to the novel he had been reading. Just when he was about to to bury his nose into the book, the irritating queen bee showed up.
"hey cutie....do you mind having me show you around the school ...I mean.." the girl started but Jeremy was having none of that.
"shut up" he yelled at the girl, making her flinch.
He got up from his seat and said more threateningly "shut that smelling mouth of yours" he said before packing his book and other items into his bag and stomping out the classroom.
********
Three girls sat huddled around a table in the cafeteria. Two were seriously pissed at one.
"what's up with you" one of them asked.
She was Mara one of the three queen bees of royal high and right now, she was addressing her friend Lisa, who was their leader. She was angry and made no effort to mask her anger as she spoke.
The second one Kira, added her own opinion.
"I'm really surprised.... this is not the Lisa i know" she said, glaring at her friend.
They were the queens of the school and no one ever had the courage to address them in the manner that annoying spoilt brat just did in the classroom.
The girl they were addressing just stared into space and smiled.
She didn't utter a word of reply to the girls and she just let them pour out their anger.
They were not her problem and were more like slaves to her.
Lisa as she had been called from birth, was the most respected and the only daughter of the school proprietor.
She was like the alpha female of the school, and she had the final word on any student who dared to offend her and today, she'd just gotten the biggest embarrassment of her life.
To make matters worse, in her own father's school.
