After Laila had been all caught up on her past in this life, at least when it came to her relationship with the staff and the development of her relationship with Olivia, she thanked everyone for telling her what they knew. She also asked them to get in touch with the people she had let go over the years because of Olivia because she wanted to make amends. If their positions hadn't been filled, she would try to hire them back. Though Laila knew she wouldn't be able to right all her wrongs overnight and some might not accept her offer even if she asked them, but not doing anything certainly wasn't an option in her book. With that request and a head full of knowledge, Laila left them all to continue their work or finish up their breaks in peace.
Laila headed back into the living room and sat down on the couch she had been pretending to sleep on not too long ago. She grabbed the laptop on the coffee table and opened it up to look for some information on her dear friend Maria. But when she turned it on and the screen was asking for the password, she was stumped. It is not like she didn't expect a password on a 1000 pound laptop but what got her stumped was the fact that she didn't know what her password was. She didn't have a single clue. You wouldn't think that just because she was in a different timeline now, that she wouldn't know her current self well enough to think of what password she would use for her laptop. But no matter how long she thought about it, nothing came to mind.
After staring at the locked screen for a while, she decided to type some birthdates of people close to her. She started with Noah of course, then proceeded to try the birthdates of her parents, even her own birthday. But nothing seemed to be her 'open sesame'. So, after getting the umpteenth "Password is incorrect" notification, she gave up and decided to go bug Noah for the answer instead. She walked up the high spiralled stairs and crossed the long carpeted halls to Noah's office. She first opened the door just a crack and peeked inside. Though she tried to be as quiet as possible in order to not give her presence away, it seemed she had been unsuccessful as a low, amused voice said, "Come on in agent 0. If you wanted to know what my evil plan was, all you needed to do was ask. No need to spy and have your cover blown like that. That is just shameful to your profession and insulting to me." As he finished those words he turned his spinning desk chair around and let out a wicked laughter.
When Laila's eyes finally landed on Noah's face, she saw he had an evil villain look on his face and his pinkie lifted up to the corner of his mouth like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers. This caused Laila's initial startled face to burst out into a loud laughter. Through her tears and breathless laughter she managed to say, "I really can't with you. Couldn't you just let me know that you had noticed my presence like a normal person."
Meanwhile Noah had pulled his chair towards the door and had wrapped his arms around Laila's waist, allowing him to look at his charming wife from a different angle than usual as he was now shorter than her. With a warm smile on his face he said, "Well where's the fun in that?" Laila let out a final chuckle at this comment and pinched his nose lovingly before resting her arms on his broad shoulders. "So, to what do I owe this pleasure of getting a second visit to my humble home office from my loving wife?"
Since Noah liked to tease her so much, she decided to tease him back a bit before she would ask the real question that she had climbed up those long stairs for. "Well, I came to see what my husband was doing while he was ignoring his ailing wife. I have been informed that you forsook your husbandly duties today and did not come to check up on me at all during these past few hours. I was told that I should ignore you to punish you for your crimes but I decided to be merciful and see if there was a reason for your sins before I decide on a fitting punishment."
"Oh my, the crimes I am being accused of are severe indeed. Thank you for bestowing your kindness on me and allowing me to defend myself before yourself before you condemn me. Before I plead my case, can I know who my accuser is?" Laila thought about this for a bit as she looked up. With her nose still lifted in the air and an arrogant look in her eyes she said, "Hmm... You sure are brave. Making requests like this as you are facing such severe charges. I shall grant your request this once but if your explanation isn't flawless it will be off with your head."
Noah moved back a bit as he held his hands up in front of himself and said, "Ho, there milady..." Laila was surprised at Noah's backing away and broke her character as she looked at him with bewildered eyes. That was when he said, "I would never dare to present you with anything that is less than perfect. Surely you must know that even if my life wasn't on the line, I would not dare insult thy name with something that isn't flawless and you can rest assured that I will not start disappointing you in that manner now.
