Noah chuckled at Laila's words and his son's apparent mischief. He got back up on his feet and as he held onto Laila's hand he said, "It is a father's job to reprimand his son and right his wrongs. So, let me help you get past our son's little prank and tell you that your password for everything is based on the date scribbled right. In. Here." As he said those last few words his thumb and middle finger were placed on each side of Laila's wedding ring, allowing him to turn the delicate gold band around her finger before he placed a kiss on the back of it. Spreading the warmth of his lips over her slim fingers.
In her mind Laila hit herself against her forehead. Of course! Why didn't she think of trying the date of their wedding or first date. Those are important dates for the both of them. "Oh yes, how could I forget. It has been engraved on the ring on my finger and probably for this very reason. As I clearly need a reminder every now and then." Laila jokingly said trying to hide her internal embarrassment. Noah chuckled in return and got ready to get back to work as he had played around for far too long already. "Well now that you have the answers to all your questions, why don't you go back downstairs and spy away on your friends as I finish up some documents so that we can have dinner together in a bit."
"Yes. Sorry, I won't disturb you anymore. I don't know why I am feeling so bored today that I keep finding reasons to keep you from your work. You best stay at the office tomorrow as I am liking having you around a bit too much to allow you to actually get any work done." Laila said these words with a bit of a laugh and a wink in order to let him know she wasn't offended or hurt by his words. After that she quickly pressed a kiss on Noah's forehead and waved him goodbye. Before he had the chance to say anything in response, Laila had already left the room and closed the door behind her. Meanwhile Noah was left shaking his head as he was laughing at Laila's behaviour and at her even thinking that she could be a bother to him. He simply wanted to make sure she wouldn't have to wait on him to have dinner and he knew that she would want to have dinner together with him as did he. For that he needed to be a responsible adult for a moment before he could enter his full leisure mode with Laila.
As Laila walked down the halls, she stopped at the door of the baby room once more as she gave herself a short moment to think about how she was expecting a boy for the second time in her life. Although in reality those pregnancies were separated by an entire life, to her it definitely didn't feel that way. This day was proving quite the day and more and more puzzle pieces were starting to fit together. One discovery had been more pleasant than the other during the start of her new life, except for those regarding Olivia. Everything else was pointing to bigger and better things for her. Laila took a deep breath before she walked down the stairs and grabbed her laptop once more from the beautifully carved oak coffee table.
She sat down and typed in the date of her wedding but she got another error message. Then she typed in the last option that remained based on Noah's hint. This was the date of her first date with Noah, and indeed this seemed to be the right combination. Finally Laila got past the lock-screen and saw the laptop starting up in just a fraction of second. This was when her eyes widened yet another time as her eyes landed on the background the Laila from this timeline had chosen. As her background, Laila had installed an enlarged picture of what she figured was her latest sonogram. Underneath it was her due date and the name she and Noah had apparently chosen for their son.
As she looked at the date, she saw that she had been off by just a week and that she was currently fourteen weeks along in her pregnancy. Meaning she was in the "safe" zone and had probably informed all those that she wanted to inform of this wonderful piece of news. But what was truly shocking to Laila was the name they had chosen. They had decided to name the baby Dominic, making 'Nick' the most probable shortening of his name. By now the similarities to her previous life could no longer be considered just a coincidence and it was beginning to give Laila an uncomfortable feeling. She really hoped that these similarities were a positive thing, a way of the universe showing her that her baby Nick from her other life was still with her in this life. But she was certainly planning on being more careful in this life. She wasn't going to risk losing another baby. Not to anything and not to anyone.
