A fool

Though Laila already knew that she was willing to help in whichever way she could, she needed to at least know what she was being asked to do, before she could agree to anything. Because although she doubted that the word 'no' would follow their question, that didn't mean that she would not have any suggestion of her own after hearing theirs or maybe there were adjustments she wanted to make. Either way, she believed that only a fool would agree with something blindly.

All three of them were surprised to hear Laila say that she too had heard of him before but only Maria and Noah knew enough of the truth to be shocked by the matter. They both knew that there was no way for her to have known about him in this life, which meant that she must have learned about him in her previous life. This of course brought many other questions along with it but they were all questions they could not ask with Steve present.

Since Maria and Noah were preoccupied with their own racing thoughts, Steve was left with the task of repeating their question. A bit hesitantly he said, "W-well, we thought that you might get Olivia to invite you to her house and have it bugged at as many places as you can. That way we can hear what she is saying and see who she is meeting. It will give us a great advantage with as little danger and inconvenience for us as possible."

Again Laila felt herself being surprised. Of course she too had decided that they needed to act while also treading carefully. However, she did not think that it would require her to enter the den of the lion. In her mind she knew that if both Maria and Noah had agreed with this plan, it would be safe for her to agree. There was no way that they would agree with a plan where they weren't certain that no harm could befall her by executing that task. But still she felt nervous at the very idea of having to enter Olivia's house without appearing suspicious.

She would need to keep up an act during her entire stay, while knowing that she had a task she could not fail at. Then to top it all off, she would have to actually execute said task. A task that required her to plant multiple microphones and cameras all over Olivia's house without being noticed. Meaning that she needed to get Olivia to bring her all over her house and get Olivia away long enough to place something at the perfect spot. Maybe she would be able to do that once without getting caught but how would she do that the second, third and maybe even fourth time!?

In a nervous voice Laila asked, "B-but how do you guys propose I do that? It is not that I think it a bad idea but I don't think it is very common for us to meet at her house. So, I would not only need an excuse for why we can't meet here, I also need a reason for us to meet at her house. Plus, I need to get her to give me alone time in her house and make sure that she nor any of her staff members notice me placing cameras and microphones. That to me seems far more complicated than what you are making it sound to be. Oh and let's not forget the possibility of her having cameras of her own. In which case, I would be caught faster than I could say 'Just kidding' and run away."

Laila's words got the group thinking and they had to agree with her on certain points. Though her voice had made it clear that she didn't like the idea of going to Olivia's house very much, even if all the dangers and problems she mentioned weren't there, that did not mean that there was no truth to what she had listed.

Maria was the first to express her agreement with Laila. "You are right. Leave it to my smart princess to see the problems we had all overlooked. I might have a solution for the first problem but I can't see a clear answer for the other things you mentioned."

Noah wasn't too far behind and said, "Hmm, you certainly bring up some valid points. I don't think they are problems that require us to discard the idea and start all over but I do think that we need to solve them before we send you in there. Unless you don't want to go in the first place. In that case, these problems are enough and we will find a different solution."

Steve was quick to agree after Noah had said what he needed to say. "Yes Laila. I agree with Maria and Noah. I see now that I might have thought a bit too simple about the matter and overlooked some things that could pose a problem. We can look at a way to prepare for when those things happen and sole what can be solved beforehand but we first need to know if you are even willing to do this. Because there is no point in looking for solutions for the holes in this plan if we aren't going to use it in the first place. That would only be a waste of time. Something we can't afford right now."
