To voice a threat!

The entire office had been silenced. All eyes were glued to the screen showing the live footage at the local police station, where Harold had been causing a ruckus over wanting to see his nephew. The reason for this being, because Harold had just said something that was certainly not out of character for someone of his nature but did manage to catch everyone by surprise. After his shouting and grumbling at the police officer, he had carried that task over to his team of lawyers, only to use his breath to voice a threat at Noah.

While the majority of the daily team had gone home for the day, a small group had stayed at the office to help out with today's grand plan to attack Harold. Part of that group was out in the field, carrying out said attacks, while the people at the office were like the data control centre. They had gathered the intel that the field team was working with and they were providing back-up where it was needed.

Of course among these people were Noah and Steve, who would need to steer the team if things weren't going according to plan and they needed to make all the decisions in case the team came across anything that might need some analytical decision making. This mission was far too important to let any decisions wait until tomorrow or be in the hands of someone else. Noah's safety and the safety of their company depended on this plan. So, there was no room for mistakes. Hearing Harold's words, the threat for Noah's safety was made clear once more and a problem that required immediate action had been created.

Harold had mumbled just loud enough for them all to hear, "That damn Noah! He used a few pictures as a reason to go after my nephew?? I'll show him that I can do far worse than cause a little trouble in paradise. You touch my blood and I'll have you lose yours. I don't care if it will be in the literal sense or figuratively but I'll be damned if I don't pay you back for this. Just you wait."

Though he hadn't shouted these words as he had been doing before. The name Noah had drawn their focus in immediately and they had maximized the volume as they zeroed in on what he was saying. That is how they were able to hear most of what he had said and the rest was easy to fill in.

After hearing his last two sentences, Noah's expression turned grim and Steve's face matched his. Once he had taken a few seconds to process, Steve grabbed his phone and made a call. It didn't take long for Noah to realize who he was talking to. Steve's voice sounded heated as he was talking but considering their current situation, that was not really a surprise.

"I know what time it is and quite frankly I don't care! That damn Harold just threatened Noah and his family. I need those bodyguards and I need them now. In fact, I needed them yesterday. I want someone sent over here immediately as well as to his home address to guard his wife and unborn child as well as my girlfriend. They are alone in that house and who knows what kind of things Harold will try. He is hard to predict when it is a regular day and all is well int he world. I won't even try to predict how far he will go once he feels threatened and agitated."

After Steve had finished his little rant and had said all he wanted to say, the person on the other side of the call started to say something. Noah, who was standing just a few inches away from Steve, could hear every word the man was saying as Steve had his volume up quite high. After he heard what he said, Noah began to chuckle. This immediately earned him a glare and some angry words from Steve after he had hung up his phone call. "This is not funny damn it! How can you be laughing at a time like this!?? Especially after what that deplorable man just said."

Noah continued to chuckle a bit as he apologized to Steve. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to laugh. I know this is a very serious situation but that moment was just too comical. You were huffing and puffing. Making all those demands. But the agents have already been sent over and have been on site for the past hour. That is just too funny."

Although Steve was trying to stay angry at Noah, he too had to admit that this particular moment of the night, had been quite comical in terms of timing. So, it didn't take long after his glaring had began, that he gave Noah a push against his shoulder before letting out a short chuckle himself. Being as close friends as they were, it was no surprise that their sense of humour would overlap. Even Noah, who at times would call Steve annoying or claim he didn't find his remarks funny, usually had a hard time keeping a straight face in those moments. Just like he was having now. Except today, in this moment, he had lost that battle. But hopefully this was no indication of his success in the battle that counted. The one with Harold...
