The cheated wife

Another thirty minutes had passed and by now it appeared as if the first person had tried signing in on one of the locked computers triggering the script. They had programmed the script to notify them once it was activated, so that they would know when they could expect the next wave of drama. Now that the first trigger had been performed, the rest would soon follow. Since humans are very particular creatures. When they see trouble with a computer, their instinctive response is to test the other computers to see if they are experiencing the same issue or if it is just a particular computer facing trouble.

So, after the first ping came, before the person keeping an eye on things could walk over to Noah and Steve to let them know, the sound of other pings followed. "Mr. Stephens, Mr. Branson, it is time. The first person signed in and I heard three or four other pings just now." No sooner had these words been said or did the number of pings surge. It had become a normal time for people to begin arriving at work and the more people arrived, the more computers would be tried and triggered.

By now there were only a few people still at the office as Steve and Noah had sent the majority home to rest up. They had all been given an extra day off to recover from the late night they had had and those that were asked to stay behind even now, would be given 2 days. They could also all expect a nice bonus by the end of the month as a thanks for their efforts. The few that had stayed behind were tasked with keeping an eye on the script and intervene if any trouble should arise. They were two people who had been recruited from the hackathon where they had hired Rebecca as well. They had been with the company for a long time and were both very skilled. If anyone could handle having to battle out with other hackers or patch up on the spot, it would be these two.

Soon the people who hadn't been part of this attack team would arrive and they would be able to change shifts with them and keep an eye on things as they rested for a bit. But the benefits of them being in the software development and hacking industry, most people in that industry are used to late nights and long days, with shifts easily passing the 24 hours and only a few power naps to keep them sharp. Though those situations weren't ideal, the skills it caused them to develop, were certainly useful during moments like this.

While Noah, Steve, and what had remained of the team, were watching the result of their hard work and planning become reality, over at the mansion Maria and Laila were waking up to prepare for their plan.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday they had gone over the details many times and had gone over the different scenario's. All to prepare for today. Jake had said he would be coming in the morning. They assumed he would be staking out the place and maybe he hadn't even stopped after leaving here yesterday. So, he would know that Noah hadn't returned and as soon as he would see a sign of life, he would probably make his way over.
Laila and Maria figured that the earlier they could get their hands on the intel, the sooner they could make use of it. So, they were both eager to get started and didn't mind waking up early and wait for Jake to arrive as opposed to being caught off guard by him. So, purposely they had asked for the curtains to remain shut, just in case Jake was watching. They had their breakfast in peace. Took their time to set everything in place that needed to be put in place and then they drew the curtains as they had a cup of tea.
No sooner had they finished their first cup and poured a second cup or did they hear the ring of the doorbell. Both of them let out a simultaneous sigh as they already had a good idea of who it was. Laila got into character and put on her sad face, while Maria made herself scarce, hiding away in the dining room like she had done the last time. Garry was left with the task of opening the door and letting the man he disliked inside the house once more, and he did so graciously.
Garry opened the door and greeted him as if he was any other guest visiting the house. He took his coat and showed him the way to the living room, where Laila was waiting for his arrival. Jake approached Laila with the utmost care and delicacy, as if she was a vase that was cracked all over and was on the verge of falling apart.
In a soft voice, almost a whisper, Jake called out to her as he took a seat next to her and placed a hand on Laila's shoulder, whose back was facing him. "Hey...How are you doing? How are you holding up? I'm sorry for coming so early but I was worried about you. So, when I saw that the curtains were drawn, I waited for a few minutes and made my way over. Were you able to confirm what I said with that bastard husband of yours?"
Without waiting for Laila's reply, he had asked her three questions and made sure she knew why he was here so early. Though Laila wanted to do nothing more than burst out laughing over this and to smack away the hand that was on her shoulder. But for the sake of everyone, she needed to resist and stay strong for a little while longer. By keeping the end goal in mind, Laila managed to stay in character as her act as the cheated wife began.
