As Maria and Laila watched the situation play out between the shadow and the crazed man, that is how they had dubbed the two people currently in the library, they wondered how the situation would play out. One an enemy and one a possible friend coming to their rescue. With their actions and appearance the names seemed well-suited. The shadow wearing a full black attire, hiding even his face, along with his shadow like movements, he seemed perfect for the name. The crazed man was named the crazed man because he was, ...well..., crazy. So, in his case as well, his name seemed very befitting and like the only logical pick.
The crazed man was certainly much larger than the shadow but then again there is the saying to not judge a book by its cover. Who knows what he had in him. Something else they did not know, was who this mysterious person was and why he was here. Confused at the shadow's identity and thinking hard about who the person could be, Laila suddenly had an inkling and said, "The bodyguard!"
As she said this out loud, she hit her fist against the palm of her hand. As she continued to look at the monitor, while mostly speaking to herself, Laila repeated the conclusion she had come to in a 'Oh, of course!' type of way. "He must be the bodyguard. I just know it. I can't think of anyone else." As Laila was saying this, it was clear that she was feeling a sense of accomplishment for solving at least one mystery.
When Maria heard the conclusion Laila had come to, she agreed that that must be it. She had been nearing the same conclusion just before Laila said that and after hearing the mentioning of bodyguard, it all came together in her mind. For her too it seemed like the only logical option as the timing added up and the shadow seemed like a skilled fighter by the way he moved. Along with him being able to apparently hide his presence, she too was convinced he must have had special training. So, while holding their breaths, their eyes remained glued on the monitor as they watched each step the shadow was taking as he tried to sneak up on the crazed man.
It was nerve-racking to watch the situation. Unable to intervene in anyway to affect the outcome, whatever it may be. On the screens they saw how the the shadow was inching closer, ready to attack the crazed man. He was only a hair away, success within his grasp, but that is when the man suddenly turned around. The crazed man's sudden action had made him stand face to face with the shadow, which was also giving him something else to turn his anger to.
Without word or warning the man started swinging and throwing things at the shadow. But despite his small frame, the shadow was very agile and fast. Or maybe it was because of it, as it certainly made him lighter. He avoided whatever was thrown at him with the greatest ease, including the punches. As if the crazed man had been punching in slow-motion or under water. After backing up a few times and spending his time on defence, the man seemed to have gotten a good grasp of the situation and that is when he decided to switch from defence to offence. The shadow jumped up in air and lunged at the crazed man, wrapping his legs around the man's neck before throwing him down on the floor.
Having immobilized the crazed man, the shadow kept the man in his 'leg lock' and continued to apply pressure as the man was struggling for air. Frantically grasping around in an attempt to loosen the grip of the shadow's legs on his throat but alas. His efforts were all in vain and shortly after the crazed man, who was banging and smashing whatever he could land his hands on, had lost his consciousness. After that the shadow pulled out handcuffs and tied the crazed man to the heavy table in the middle of the library, which had been placed there for people to sit down and enjoy reading a book, as if it were a real library.
Of course there were also thick cushions in the windowsill along the length of the windows, allowing for a comfy reading corner there as well, the table provided a perfect place to tie the crazed man and it had a little weight to it. Making it more difficult for the crazed man to attempt another attack or an escape by pulling whatever he was tied to loose or pull it along. After he had used the handcuffs, he also grabbed a piece of robe and immobilized the man even further. Tying his legs and adding a second layer of security to the tying of his arms. At least until the cops would arrive.
Once he was done doing all of this, he looked right into the camera that Laila and Maria were using to follow his act from the beginning and gestured for them to come out as he said, "The threat here has been cancelled. It is okay to come out now. The sooner you do, the sooner we can head over to Mr. Stephens and Mr. Branson's side as they were in quite a bit of danger and I don't know how they are doing right now. If my colleague was able to protect them properly, if he has managed to neutralize the threat before it could harm either one of them or if we need to be visiting them in the hospital. All I know right now is that they were in danger and that I was able to warn them. Weather that was on time or not is something to worry about for now."
