Full circle

The henchman was still spilling whatever he could spill in order to save himself from suffering any more at the hands of the bodyguard and his colleagues. At the moment his topic of conversation was Olivia in particular. However, although he had plenty of bad things to say about Olivia, he admitted that she hadn't been involved in the planning of the bombing. But, this didn't mean that she didn't know anything at all. She knew that Harold wasn't above harming Noah and Harold had discussed an outcome of Noah potentially being fully out of the picture if Olivia didn't manage to get Harold the business she had promised. So, if Harold would kill Noah for her failure to get him his business, it shouldn't have been hard for her to imagine that he would do it if Noah rubbed him the wrong way for another reason. Finally some useful information came when the henchman told them where Harold would keep all the important documents on his shady business.

Although plenty was wrong with his legitimate business in terms of fraud and tax evasion. It was still a white collar crime and wouldn't result in much jailtime. Nor would it get him sent to a prison where the real hardened criminals were sent. Something that Noah needed to fully exact his revenge. But despite Noah and Steve's gut feeling that there had to be illegal business as well, as that is what Harold specialised in, they couldn't find anything on that. A big reason for that was because these types of things are usually done without a digital trail as paper can't be hacked. This had proven to be a smart decision in this case as well if it hadn't been for his canaries singing the moment they got caught to save their own asses.

The bodyguard had just finished up his little heart to heart with the henchman, when Noah called. This allowed him to Noah what he had managed to find out and Noah could give him a status update on his side of things. After they had both said what they wanted to say, both of them seemed equally surprised and impressed by what the other had to tell. Although for Noah that surprise came at the very end and for the bodyguard at the beginning, the level of surprise remained the same.

Having the location to his 'secret lair' was such valuable information and knowing that the bodyguard had kept his promise, about returning the favour to that particular henchman, made Noah quite happy about what today had brought so far, despite not getting what he wanted at the police station. That small setback, if you can even call it that, was nothing compared to this huge win that the bodyguard had brought him. He thanked him and asked him to send that address to his phone as he planned to take action immediately, before any evidence was destroyed. As for what they should do with the henchman, the answer was quite simple for Noah, "Turn him into the police. I'll make sure he will get what's coming for him for the next few decades of his life. This was only a preview if you ask me."

With that answer they ended their conversation and Noah got ready for his next conversation, while the bodyguard was the one feeling some shivers this time around from seeing how merciless Noah was to those he considered enemies. He mumbled, "Sheesh, I thought I lacked the ability to show mercy. I am bloody mother Theresa compared to him. I should make a memo to remind myself to never anger that man.', before he turned around to tell the others what needed to be done.

Now that everything had almost become full circle, Noah had become that much more interested in what Max would have to tell him, as he now held the final piece of the puzzle. Max, as always, picked up almost immediately and Noah heard him shouting before he said "Good afternoon, Mr. Stephens. I was just about to call you myself". Noah had a pretty good idea what that would be about but he let Max tell his own story. He replied with an interested, "Oh really? What about?". To which Max replied, "I caught myself two rats. Although they might be chickens with their size and their acts of cowardice."

Noah chuckled and said, "Do these rats have names?" But Max was past polite answers and from his answer it was clear that Max really disliked James and Andrew. He replied, "They aren't worthy of names. They aren't even worthy of their lives or the oxygen they breathe, but I don't want to lower myself to becoming a murderer for the sake of such poor excuses of human life. However if you can arrange a cell with lower oxygen levels for these two, I wouldn't say no to that." Noah again chuckled and said, "I'm happy you were able to show such restraint. You are right. They aren't worthy of any extra energy or effort on your part. Making them rot in a cell for a few years and letting the other prisoners with nothing to lose deal out the punishments for us, will be all the revenge we need. But I'll be sure to look into that cell with lower oxygen as I quite like that idea. Why not make them suffer a little extra in that way? Since we probably can't send them to prison for as long as their little friends."
