Noah was quite surprised by Rebecca's sudden suggestion, but was given no time to react, much less approve or disapprove. Suddenly they were joined by Anthony and Noah's curiosity grew, as did Laila's. Anthony repeated Rebecca's process of greeting and apologizing for calling him so late, to which Noah responded by waving it off and telling them, "Enough with all the apologies. Just tell me why you called me this late at night already".
Using every last ounce of bravery he had in him at that moment, Anthony said, "Well, before we do that. Would you mind if we add Mr. Branson to the call as well. It would be nice if we could inform both of you at once." Rebecca nodded to this suggestion and Noah sighed after staring at the two nervous people in front of him, before he yielded to their request. Although he had a pretty good idea which direction this announcement was going, since they had taken the effort and it had taken courage to tell him like this, he wanted to give them the chance to do so in their own words. He looked for Steve's number and called him.
Steve had not realized the situation and had somehow missed the fact that he was being added to a group call, answered in a shirtless state as well. In a cheerful, yet teasing tone and a wide grin on his face he picked up and said, "What's up buttercup! What has you video calling me this late at night? Did you miss me already?" It wasn't until after he saw the shocked expressions on Anthony and Rebecca's faces that he realized that it wasn't just him and his friend, but that they were having company. When he saw them and he saw Noah's murderous glare, he sheepishly said, "Oh… hey, Rebecca and Anthony. My bad. I didn't realize you guys were part of the call". The he chuckled and added with a newfound grin, "Any who, what's the reason for this late-night call?"
Rebecca and Anthony were still both flabbergasted to hear their boss, the face of the company, speak like that to the other boss. Noah continued to glare, while Laila could be heard bursting into laughter in the background. She had finally managed to get dressed by now and showed her face in the call. Having revealed her presence, she saw no use in not showing herself and pretending she wasn't there. She just leaned against the grumpy looking Noah and placed her arm on his shoulder before resting her chin on her hand as she said with a smile, "Hi guys. I hope you don't mind me being here as well. If it is something important you don't want me to hear, I can leave of course."
But Noah quickly dismissed that idea. He turned his face towards her as he said, "No. There is no need for you to go anywhere inside your own home. There is nothing that anyone here can say, that I wouldn't want you to hear." Laila chuckled and pressed on the small space between both of his eyebrows in order to relax his frown. This worked and made him immediately seem more friendly and approachable. He looked at her with a surprised look, using his facial expression to ask her why she did that. Laila smiled and said, "Stop frowning. It makes you look angry. Those two seem nervous enough as it is." Noah hadn't been aware of how harshly he was frowning and rubbed the area between his brows in a bit of a confused manner as he prepared to return his focus to the call at hand. But while this husband-and-wife couple were in their own little world, Anthony and Rebecca didn't know whether to say something, keep looking or just look away to give them some privacy. In the end it was Steve who said something to pull them back into the call.
"Alright, alright that is enough. I am assuming we didn't enter a video call at this time of day to see you act out your little love story for everyone." Noah cleared his throat now that he realized his actions in front of two of his employees, while Laila blushed a little as she laughed it off and said, "Sorry. Sorry. Won't happen again. Please continue."
Now that the focus was back on Anthony and Rebecca, it was time for them to finally reveal the big news. Rebecca started off by saying, "Well…Uhm…The thing is…". Seeing that she wasn't able to find the right words, Anthony stepped up to the plate and did the announcement for her. "What Rebecca is trying to say, is that she and I decided to get engaged. We wanted you to be one of the first people we tell and we hope you can support our relationship."
