In a town a few hours in a different direction, Laila had managed to finish the final touches on her first design. Also completing her first step at becoming an actual designer. To commemorate this moment, the first thing she did, was call Noah. She video-called him, and despite him being in a meeting, he paused the meeting in order to accept her call. He quickly walked out of the room and listened to what his darling wife had to say.
Laila was well worth Noah pausing the meeting, because her energy was contagious to him and the way she talked, would definitely provide him with a boost of energy for the rest of the day. As soon as the call was answered, Laila was standing in their living room, twirling about. With excitement she showed off the dress, while holding it in front of her body. "Well, what do you think?! I finally managed to finish it. My first real dress. Can you believe it??"
Noah was deeply impressed with what she had been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time, and he began to smile at seeing Laila's excitement. He then praised her for a job well done, before he reluctantly told her that he had to go. "I would love to talk some more dear, but I walked out of my meeting to take your call and I have to go back. However, I promise that we will celebrate later tonight because this is certainly not something I plan to just let pass by." Laila understood and apologized for disturbing his meeting. An apology he immediately dismissed before waving at the screen to tell her goodbye and her waving back. He then looked over at Max through the window of the meeting room and he, with a single look, knew what he had to do. He made a note on his tablet as Noah made his way back inside, before the meeting continued.
Laila was still floating on her high of finishing her first dress, and it now fully dawned on her that she had started her own business once more. Her long-lived dream of becoming a designer would become true for the second time in her life, and she needed to share her excitement with anyone willing to hear it. Noah had simply been the first. The second could only be her dearest friend Maria. She quickly searched for her number in her list of contacts and told her the good news. She too reacted excitedly and perfectly matched her energy, as if it had been her own accomplishment, and proposed a celebration.
"I can't take you out, because I can't leave Steve here alone, but I want to celebrate it with you in some way at least. So, why don't you come here and I'll make you a cake. We can cut it together in celebration of your first step of becoming a business owner and cheer for its success." Laila chuckled and said, "That sounds wonderful. I have done enough for one day, and I can use a break like that. Especially if there is going to be cake. You know I can't resist that." Maria moved her brows up and down on the other side of the call and with a cheeky smile said, "I know. That is why I said it. Momma knows how to get her girl to come over." Laila chuckled as she shook her head and said, "There really is no saving you.", before she waved Maria good bye as well and headed upstairs to get dressed.
When she got upstairs and was standing in front of the mirror, deciding what to wear, her eyes fell on her belly. It had really grown since the first day she had arrived in this timeline. It made sense since several weeks had already passed since her arrival, but it still amazed her. Since her pregnancy from her previous life had been terminated so abruptly, she couldn't help but pay more attention to this one. To make sure she has taken every last detail in. She had even bought a baby book, and began writing it from the moments she could remember. Deep down she was hoping that maybe one day she would be able to fill in the early pages, the ones with questions about the day she found out she was pregnant. The early weeks of her pregnancy. Things like that.
She was getting caught up in those thoughts for a brief moment, but she shook her head to snap out of it, as she didn't have the time to think about those things right now. Nor did she want to. This was a happy day, and she wanted to enjoy it fully, without any thoughts of fear, loss or worry. She quickly picked out a warm comfy dress, thinking they wouldn't be going out in public anyways, so she might as well go with the comfortable choice over the pretty one, and headed back downstairs before leaving to see Maria and Steve.
