The Promise

Josh and Natalia were in big trouble. All the Guests who arrived for the birthday party got surprised. Josh's mother, confused, went to her husband to reconfirm about the shifting. Josh's father to avoid confusion, confirmed that they were shifting.

After a few hours, Josh's birthday party got over and all the guests left the house. Now there was only Josh, Josh's parents, and Natalia in the house. Josh asked Natalia to continue hiding in the room. Josh went up to his father to ask the reason for their shifting. Josh's father explained to him that the reason for shifting was financial reasons and it will be safer to stay in their native place since Josh's uncle became the president. "Also, we might get government support," said Josh's father. "Don't we have assets here? Dad!" asked Josh. "Oh, about the assets, I'll sell them" replied Josh's father. "What about my education, housing, transport?" asked Josh. Josh's father replied with confidence, "I have made preparations already, son". Josh was disappointed. Josh with tears in his eyes asked, "what about friends?". Josh's father replied, "Didn't I told you to not have friends, or perhaps you made some friends behind my back". Josh replied, "Yes, I have friends here! also a girlfriend". "I already knew, and to cut all your ties with your friends, we are gonna SHIFT!", Josh's father replied. Josh asked, "So you are not going to change your mind?". Josh's father replied "yes". Josh being angry, left the house with frustration. Josh's father called out Natalia who was hiding in the room. Natalia came out of the room. Josh's father asked, "Not gonna follow your love?". Natalia said, "I don't want to hear that from you, I know what to do". With that being said, Natalia went to search for Josh.

Josh went to the River. As he was walking beside the river, he was asking himself "how can I meet Natalia?". Josh was worried. Josh was afraid of what will happen to his relationship with Natalia.

Natalia finally found Josh at the riverside. She went up to him. "Hey Josh, what's your plan?", asked Natalia. Josh replied, "I don't know, I'm confused". Natalia replied, "So there is nothing we can do, huh?". Josh answered "yeah". Their conversation stopped for a moment, it was all silent, the realization that they can't meet, made them worried. The wind blew gently, the trees were moving calmly. Both Josh and Natalia were staring at each other. Then Josh asked, "Do you still love me, Natalia?". Natalia replied "yes". Natalia asked, "why did you ask?". Josh replied, "Isn't it difficult to maintain a relationship with me". Natalia answered, "Yes, it may be difficult, but I don't care about those difficulties, what I care about is the love for you, Josh". Josh said, "then it's decided". Natalia asked, "what's decided". Josh answered, "long-distance relationship, promise me that you will never cheat on me and I'll promise you that I will never cheat on you". Natalia promised that she'll never cheat on Josh. Josh then said, "we will meet again after I become independent, till then we shall love each other in secret". Natalia agreed.

Like that the promise was made to never cheat and to love each other and to meet again.
