As I stared at the giant Wotan, the woman threw my weapon into the ground by my feet. I pulled it from the ground, never taking my eyes off my opponent, who has yet to move, as if he is waiting for something. Not long after a giant pair of metal knuckles fell from the sky, and that's when Jack moved. In one swift movement he slipped the knuckles over his hands as he launched a heavy right hook down at me.
I quickly rolled out of the way as the giant knuckles left a crater where I once stood. While 50 million bounty isn't special, it isn't an honest description of strength, it just means a threat to the world government. Jacky boy here was probably not the captain of the pirate crew he was in, likely just the muscle of the crew.
I took the opportunity to strike his arm with my guandao, only for the spear to bounce off his skin. I quickly backed off, thinking as much as I knew about sharks. While the megalodon might be extinct, it has descendants of the same family tree. Shark skin in general is already hard to cut, I know that from 12 A.M. Youtube scrolling, but I can't remember why.
"My hide can't be cut by some puny blade Human." Jack spoke as he launched a barrage of punches in my direction. I used boxing to weave through the punches, getting closer once again, this time using the point to try and pierce through his skin using all 50 points of my natural strength. Turns out, normal weapons can't handle all that as my guandao shattered upon impact, sending wood shards everywhere.
I still managed to cut him, if only a little trickle of blood flowed from his leg. Now weaponless, I resorted to using boxing, hitting him where I cut. I flinched in pain as I drew my hand back, small punctures and cuts covering my knuckles. Fuck, dermal denticles, I remember now. Shark skin is covered in small teeth like protrusions that form a kind of armor, making it hard to cut or pierce, and will instead cut whatever flesh touches it. Meaning, unless I pull something out my ass, I am at a severe disadvantage.
"Told you puny Human, you can't hurt me!" Jack shouted as he managed to land a blow on my shoulder, sending me flying into the edge of the arena.

"Fucking ow." I said as I hobbled out of my hole. I grabbed my arm and popped it back into the proper place.

[due to improper treatment, your shoulder has been fixed but proper treatment is required]
I'll deal with that later. For now, I have to figure out how to not die. Right, no blades, can't punch him. Those knuckles are too big for me to use properly. Uuuhhhhh. Oh, that could work. I reached down to pick up a sizable stone. Cocking my right arm back, launching the rock at Jack's head. Jack was too busy raising his arms to the crowd to notice the incoming vibe check as it collided with the back of his head making him stumble forward. Time to recreate David and Goliath. I hope to at least, I have what I need. Rope, cloth, and a fuckin dream. I ran forward as I ripped a part of my sleeve, reaching down to pick up a fragment of my shattered blade. I jumped as high as I could, cutting the rope holding Jack's trousers, causing them to start slipping.
Retreating back once more, I began trying to make a sling from what I remember from the SERE course. I went as fast as I could as Jack fumbled with his trousers.
[Makeshift crafting skill acquired, poorly made sling]
[makeshift sling 10/10 uses left]
I picked up a small stone slung at Jack's eye, and watched in disappointment as it sailed far left.
[slinging skill acquired, level 0]
9 shots left. I picked up a few more small stones and moved closer, hoping to increase accuracy by reducing distance. Jack gave up on his clothing, letting the shorts fall to the ground, leaving him completely bare. I shoved the image into the back of my head as I focused on the fight. Hesitation leads to death and like hell I am going to die here. I slung another stone at him, nailing him square in the chest punching a small hole in his tough skin. Even a novice with a sling can launch a stone at 60 Mph. While this sling is not properly made, it still is a lethal weapon.
Me and Jack soon developed into a game of 'can't touch this' as we fought. Two rocks later, I had nailed Jack once more in the shoulder, to little effect. 7 shots left. I spied what was left of the shaft of my guandao on the ground not far away as a plan hatched in my mind. I slung another stone, but this time I was aiming for a pair of swinging stones. Jack stopped where he was crashing onto one knee grabbing his now bleeding pride. I grabbed the wooden pole, ready to God of War this shit. I jumped onto Jack's knee, feeling the shark skin cut my feet, before shoving the pole into his eye as far as I could.
Jack roared in pain, swinging a wild arm at me. I jumped once more, dodging this man's dying onslaught. I brought the sling back once more, hitting him square in his remaining eye, completely blinding him. I landed on the ground, wincing in pain from my lacerated feet. I stared as my opponent kept swinging his arms blindly, tiring himself out. He soon crashed to the ground, giving up on the fight. The crowd was silent, looking on in shock. A new man, wearing a purple suit, walked onto a podium. He held his fist up, thumbs down.
"You fought well Jack. I hope you get your freedom in the afterlife." I said to Jack as I brought my fist back, punching the remaining pole through his eye and into his brain. I stood in silence as the crowd burst into cheer, the guards walking into the arena, putting my hands into chains once more, pulling me away from the arena. As I walked I scrolled through the system notifications I got after killing Jack.

I was led into a different cell still with a heavy door, but like Cherry said, it was better than the previous one. The room was 10x10, a poorly made bed, a desk, a slightly bigger bucket in the corner. It was really just a bigger version of the room I was in earlier but without the cell. Cherry was sitting at the desk as I walked in, the door slamming behind me.
"Here, sit on the bed." She said, pulling out a roll of bandages from the desk. 30 minutes later, my shoulders and feet were wrapped up with some skill. "You fought well. I thought you were going to lose after your weapon shattered."
"Thanks. I wasn't expecting him to have such tough skin." I said as I scrolled through the shop. I preferred using polearms rather than swords, so even if I had the swordsmanship skill, I wasn't going to use it. There were 50 of the Wazamono, and one of the Saijō Ō Wazamono was a polearm so there must be a Wazamono polearm. It took a while, but there were a few near the end of the list. All but one cost more than 5 million Beri and it was a glaive, but it's name was in a language I kinda knew. In Latin, its name was Gravitas, translated as Weight.
[Wazamono Gravitas: Glaive]
[Gravitas was created by a blacksmith under the pressure of execution. During the forging of this blade, the weight on the blacksmith's shoulder was transferred to the blade, bestowing a curse upon the newly forged Wazamono. The first wielder of this cursed blade was the prince of a forgotten land, who succumbed to the curse and was later executed by this very blade. Since then, those who dared try to bear the weight of this curse have found their head liberated from their body, until someone sealed it away to the deep ocean.]
[CURSE: With every life you take, the blade becomes heavier, until you can no longer wield it properly. This weight only applies to you, and not the true weight of the blade. To others who hold the weapon, it will weigh as much as a normal Glaive. Upon this happening, this blade consumes your sanity, sending you into a frenzy, attacking any and everything until you die. The weight is reset with every new wielder.]
[current weight: 50 pounds]
[cost: 4,000,000]
On earth, the peak of human strength is 2,200 pounds with overhead and 4,000 for bench press. Giants on average here could lift battleships which weigh in thousands of tons. As a half giant, I naturally am stronger than humans but not to the standards of giants. If the average human strength is 1 point in the system, so roughly 180 pounds per point, then 50 points is 9,000 pounds, or 4.5 tons. However, this is only a rough estimate, the system doesn't really give me a reference for what the values mean. However, I need a weapon that won't shatter while I use it, cursed or not. Besides, as time goes on I will get stronger so I can hold off the curse for a while.
If Jack had a 50 mil bounty and I received 5 mil for killing him, then I get 10 percent of the bounties. So I have an option for earning money for the next ten years so if need be I can buy one of the other blades. I purchased the Gravitas, and let it sit in my inventory. Now I just need to figure out how I can use it in fights without people noticing. Perhaps they have a glaive similar to my cursed blade in their armory.
[Megalodon Leather Armor]
[This armor is made from the hide of a megalodon, who's dermal denticles were not removed in the process of crafting. During the handling blood was spilled upon it, dying the leather red.]
[Increases defense by 20 points]
[Armor can be hidden by the system, letting the host benefit from the armor's abilities without having to physically wear it.]
"You really handled yourself, Romulus." Nyx said as me and Cherry laid down to sleep. Due to only having one bed, and neither of us wanted to sleep on the cold ass floor, we shared the bed. Awkward? Yes. Efficient? Also yes. "I should tell you that that will be the average for opponents you will face here. Not all have bounties, so don't count on it for a reliable source."
"I figured. I honestly thought I would lose. Skin that was hard to cut and pierce, strength greater than my own." I sighed as the throbbing pain in my shoulder faded a little. "But what I don't understand is why I feel like I can't use all of the strength I have. I hit his leg with all my strength, but it did nothing."
"Well like I said, the one who had this body before you was a brat, he never used his full natural strength, so even if you have 50 points in strength, your body it's used to using it. You are only using about 15 points of strength" Nyx explained. "Your earlier calculations were close, but not quite. You referenced the earth you came from, but not this world. The average strength varies for wherever you are. The east blue would be the standard closest to earth."
"So there really isn't a reliable calculation I can use?" I asked, kind of annoyed. If those numbers can't be referenced to an average of fixed value, then why the fuck are they there.
"Well not quite. Logic in this world doesn't often apply, and this system was custom made using a base of a system not calibrated for this world. That's why I am here. It is my job as the System A.I. to make updates to the system to make the system work proper. So as time goes on and I have references to put numbers to, the system will update. So if you see the system change, that's just me trying to perfect the system" Nyx said. Make sense, the strongest system I used as a base was made for a Xianxia/Wuxia fantasy world. One Piece is an adventure fantasy world, so the fundamentals of the world are different. No young masters or jade beauties here fellas. Why do I feel like I just raised a flag? "Once the System is properly calibrated, I won't need to be here, so I will be sent somewhere else."
"Wait, what?" I wasn't expecting that. "Like hell you are."
"You don't have a say in this Romulus. That's my job." Nyx said. She sounded a bit sad at the prospect. "But who knows, you reincarnated tend to not follow the rules."
"Who knows. Maybe I can do the heavens a favor or two." I joked. I opened up the skill menu. I need a defensive skill, one that can help me take hits from people stronger than me without killing me.
[iron body: 2 SP]
[Kami-E: 2 SP]
[invulnerability: 20 SP]
[enhanced durability: 1 SP]
[Shave: 2 SP]
A lot of good defensive skills cost more than one skill point, and have a level requirement. The same could be said for other types of skills. Regeneration and other superpower type abilities were not listed, but there were items that could give you said abilities in the store, but all cost billions of Beri. No matter, I will have time. I purchased the enhanced durability, and viewed the skill.
[Enhanced Durability: Lvl 1]
[your body can take more damage before you suffer serious injury]
So with my armor the total defense is 50. The iron armor that the guards I killed were wearing gave a bonus of +30 defense and I dented it by punching it. Whatever was affecting me must have forced my body to use all of its strength to destroy it like that.
I stared at the ceiling, counting tiles, trying to ignore the sleeping girl next to me.
"Hey Nyx?" I asked. "Can you scan my memories and compose a timeline of events?"
"I can, but it won't change if you influence events. So if you kill Kiado at God's Island, it won't show you the changes you make to the future." She said as a small progress bar popped up, taking about 10 minutes to finish. "Anything else?"
"Nah, I just need to find an Island in the calm belt to set up shop. The Navy won't be able to traverse the calm belt until Vegapunk joins the W.G. after Roger's death, during that time he will discover the effect of seastone on devil fruits." Vegapunk is an invaluable asset to the government, and he only denied Dragon's offer to join him after Ohara because of his lack of material and funding. If I can find him before then, I could make a deal with him to join me or share research. Vegapunk allowed Kuma to protect the Thousand Sunny for two years until the Straw hats came back.
"There are a few islands that have civilization already present in the calm belt. The largest is between West Blue and the New World. It already has an emperor and doesn't have any ties with the World Government. Not to mention that the entire system is the strongest rules, bully the weak and what not." Nyx said as a fragmented map of this world showed itself.
The island was roughly the size of Alabasta, sitting closer to the New World than the West Blue. a section of the northern part of the island was covered in cand, a jungle to the south, tundra to the north east and a giant mountain in the center. All in all, it looks like a great place to set up shop. 48 years to develop until Luffy shakes the world.
"You should get some sleep. You are going to need it."
Days passed without having to fight again. During that time, I was doing hard labor, repairing the arena, cleaning weapons, and other various tasks. Cherry was doing other chores, cleaning and what not. At night when Cherry wasn't in the room, I summoned the cursed blade and practiced using the glaive, leveling the polearm skill which created a sub category that included the different types of polearms like spears, staves, mauls. Turns out that leveling skills does not increase my level, but the skills evolve into greater forms of themselves.
Me and Cherry have been growing closer. We can't exactly go out on dates, but we have nice chats, and what can count as the meal we are given. Every so often I would buy food from the system for us to eat and just say I stole it or did favors for the guards. I got a lying skill from that. I gained an appraisal skill while I was inspecting the weapons I was cleaning. I didn't get much info on people just names, but it was enough.

{Author's note here, can I just say that planning shit for this world is a pain in the ass? There is the CP9 Doriki system that was mentioned in Enies Lobby and nowhere else, hardly a consistent and detailed map, not to mention, the map made by Oda himself, doesn't even include every island the Straw hats visited? There is supposedly an entire ass island in the grand line that extends from the south blue, through the calm belt, and into the grand line right where the marine HQ was supposed to be? Like what the fuck Oda. if you guys have an official detailed map somewhere, link it please? Also, while I am here, just know that I am taking creative liberties, so if I do something that goes against later canon, current canon, or just doesn't seem to work, know this is fanfiction, anime, and logic has no say in One Piece, k thanks}
