Chapter 63: Gathering Info on the Enemy

~Third POV~

In the dystopian world of Seraph of the End in a private room inside the former district of Naruhata buildings was a human and common vampire having an interrogation for a few questions tied up using the binds from the MHA world to keep him tied.

Sitting across the common vampires as Jason starts to examine the blood sample with his super laptop as he and Alter Ego began to break down the D.N.A. Components within the common vampires.

As Jason was analyzing the data of the blood the common vampire could only look on in silence being treated like this as he tried all that he could to hurl insults at the human.

Jason for his part simply ignored the threats but made sure to keep mental notes of key terms being used.

With that Jason began to use the quirk as he asked the vampire a simple but dumb question for his ability to start, "You know you common vampires are really weak compared to me seriously here I thought you guys were a threat."

Hearing the words coming off from Jason's mouth the Common Vampire began to hurl back an insult but that was when his eyes faded out as the worked, "You stupid miserable…"

Seeing that the common vampire finally shut up Jason was glad as he can finally begin to collect some information about the common knowledge of these people, "Finally and here I thought my patience was growing thin here. Now then mister vampire what exactly do you know about the other vampires in your community and be sure to not leave any details out."

With that, the Common Vampire began to explain what he knows about his race to Jason as he absorbs everything being told to him with great interest.

Progenitors or the Great Ancestral Progenitors are royalties among the vampires. All progenitors are nobles, and a human turned into a vampire by a progenitor becomes noble. Nobles are far stronger than the average vampire and wield superior weapons.

There are twenty ranks for progenitors.

The progenitors with the lowest number have the highest rankings. By default, they are extremely powerful and higher ranks even more so. However, progenitors of the same rank are not necessarily equal in power.

Sixth Progenitors and above have been sired by the First Progenitor and have the right to attend meetings of the Progenitor Council. All vampire monarchs are likely progenitors of an esteemed lineage.

The rank of progenitor corresponds with the number of progenitors holding that rank. For example, there is one First Progenitor, two Second Progenitors, three Third Progenitors, and so on. In total there are 19 progenitors in the Progenitor Council excluding the First Progenitor Sika Madu and Second Progenitor Saito.

A vampire always holds a rank weaker than his or her sire. For instance, a vampire sired by a Seventh Progenitor would not be able to have a rank greater than a Thirteenth Progenitor or a vampire who is sired by the second progenitor would not be able to have a rank greater than a seventh progenitor.

After that, the common vampire began to explain the laws of their own as Jason listen intently to them with interest shown.

Vampires are forbidden from any meddling with the Seraph of the End. Violation will result in imprisonment for all eternity.

Before the Apocalypse, vampires were forbidden from meddling with human affairs. This law was overturned once the human population became threatened, and vampires rose to save their food supply.

In Sanguinem, vampires are forbidden from drinking blood directly from a human. They may only drink blood directly while on the surface or the battlefield. This is because more vampires tend to drink their prey dry than not. However, laws are determined by the vampire rulers of each city and may vary even within the same country.

Drinking blood from another vampire is taboo but grants immoral pleasure.

Only nobles are permitted to turn a human into a vampire.

Vampires are not allowed to use another vampire's blood to turn a human into a vampire. If they do so, both the sire and the young vampire will be subjected to imprisonment for all eternity.

Then next the vampire explained the punishments for disobeying their laws.

The most severe punishment for a vampire is imprisonment deep underground for all eternity. Since a vampire's brain will continue to regenerate, the prisoner will forever long for blood without any way to fulfill that desire and any ability to die.

Another severe punishment for a powerful vampire is torture by exposure. By exposing the vampire to direct sunlight without a UV-protective armband, the vampire will burst into flames and scream in agony continuously for the duration of their sentence.

Although Jason's attention to the interesting fact about the punishments as he thought to himself in a surprised tone, 'Wait the vampires' brains are regenerating? Does that mean that they are in a constant state of regeneration because they are undead? I mean it's possible considering their body no longer needs metabolism to be active, but the brains are an important muscle in the body to operate everything?'

Jason thought this to himself as he listens furthermore to understand more about the vampire's use in technology and how advanced they were from his own as he holds one of the dead vampires' protective gears to UV lights as he re-engineered it in the process.

Their protective gears as the vampires most commonly wear armbands on their left arms to protect themselves from UV light. They may also wear rings. This allows them to move under sunlight without harm, although they still dislike it.

Then when the vampire explained more about their technology side as Jason listen, he began to think for himself in a curious tone, 'Interesting… so my knowledge of technology is just above their own. They only managed to get the use of modern warfare from my own and a bit on the Danganronpa world side to a degree with the UV bands. But everything else seems to be more on the modern or the old side with them using swords though.'

Nodding his head at that Jason then motions towards the dead vampire's former weapon of the second-class weapon as he spoke to him questioning, "Ok I understand that but what about the materials needed to create your weapons. Your former collogues used different means to get stronger using them but how do they work?"

Then to answer Jason's question the vampire left him surprised as he spoke as if it was common knowledge, "That is simple human. The gears inside the hilt have magic enchanted inside the gear as I was told by simply sacrificing our blood the enchantment inside the weapon gear would activate as the hilt grows vines taking our blood to activate it. That's also why its stronger than most human weapons"

Now it was Jason's turn to be surprised as he next asked wondering how they could use magic with his gears in a very curious tone, "Enchantments? Magic? Tell me what you can about the subject of magic if any at all if you can."

The common vampire for his part shrugs his shoulders as he even he didn't know the whole process as he began to explain the most he can, "Hmm… I'm not sure human all I know about the concept behind it is that they engraved certain words to have an effect for those that have the bloodline to use magic."

Jason for his part was surprised to hear that but then remember that the humans were made to take tests to be able to use magic so he began to speak about if everyone could use it, "Ok so everyone can use magic. But how come not everyone uses it often from their bodies?"

The vampire hearing the question then thinks deeply before he tries his best to answer Jason question to the best of his abilities as he could with difficulty, "Although everyone could use it the issue is, they will remain weak to gather magic to use it, so they usually use it in items as the body is too weak to use it freely unless they are demons. But that is all I know since only those in the higher up Progenitors from 1-8 know more as us Common Vampires aren't allowed to know other than what I have said."

Jason for his parts sighs out loud from that as he begins to inspect the weapons as he noticed engravings used for enchantments as he thinks to himself, 'So there was nothing special about the materials they used but rather the enchantments themselves makes them useful? Well, that is a dead-end with their weapons but the enchantments on them do have some value if I know how to decode them?'

Scrunching up his face Jason then comes to another conclusion as the information he got from the vampire in front of him as he thought in an annoyed tone, 'Fuck… if the Progenitors 1-8 are the ones that knew how to use magic then only a rare few can use them. And only the humans have the know-how with their magics with enchantments from the Noble Families in Shibuya. Plus, recalling from the manga they take the test knowing the different language to use magic does make more sense now.'

After that, the vampire then continues to the next part as to how they become demons taking Jason's interest.

A vampire can transform into a demon by dying.

This can seemingly be accomplished by either the vampire being starved of blood until they die and initiate their transformation or injured to the point that they lose a massive amount of blood, and eventually die from starvation, too.

Upon dying, the vampire will begin releasing a massive amount of energy and a death wail - a powerful shriek that only other vampires can hear screamed at an incredibly high or unique frequency.

After the wail, the deceased vampire is to immediately be reborn as a demon, with their overall power being dependent on how powerful they previously were as a vampire.

Hearing this Jason was more interested in their transformation as he thought in a curious tone from the info he gathered, 'Again interesting… so the vampires upon death bed becomes a demon then they released a unique and higher pitch sound frequency. So that is another weakness I can use if they can hear that unique frequency only demons and vampires can hear then taking them out by sound is possible as well.'

Then comes the points about their weakness as Jason summarized what the common vampire said to make it clear with his knowledge.

Pride: They have immense pride and typically underestimate their human opponents or may refuse to work together with vampires of rival factions.

Bloodthirst: Krul Tepes has stated that Mika will become a senseless, raving demon if he does not drink blood, and Ferid Bathory tells him the same thing. Newly turned vampires may be able to survive off of the blood of the one who sired them, but this will only work for a limited period.

Sunlight/UV exposure: Sunlight Exposure to UV light will create a toxin in their bodies, and vampires must wear protective gear to neutralize this effect. Otherwise, they will burst into flame. Even with the protective gear, they disdain the sunlight, but they can tolerate it, as but the single digits Progenitors have resistance to them but not immunity.

Daytime: Without protective gear, vampires are too tired to function during the daytime.

Head destroyed: They can be killed if their heads are destroyed. One normal bullet will not do the job.

Removing the heart: Removing their heart will weaken them and begin to turn them into a demon unless the heart is returned.

Blood drainage from another vampire: If a vampire were to drink any more of another of their kind blood, they might die as blood is their vital source of energy.

Massive blood loss: If they are injured to the point that they lose a massive amount of blood, they eventually die and become a demon.

Once Jason has gotten the information, obtained he was more interested as he came to the conclusions of his knowledge, 'So, this is the facts of the vampire's information I have obtained more so than my world knowledge of them. But all of this wasn't for nothing as these vampires also have additional weaknesses the constant use of their regeneration and unique sound waves of death wails that attracts them. If I could weaponize them then it will surely be useful as well as a unique virus to deal with them as well.'

Shaking his head at that Jason then began to ponder what to do next as the common vampire regained himself again and paled at what he did.

*Swoosh*

*Boom*

Before he could respond Jason quickly got rid of him decapitating the head using his brute strength of punching his head as it burst open like a fruit.

Jason then collects their protective gears and weapons as he places them inside the trunk of the car as he began to continue his search as he talks to himself, "Everything I learned today was valuable but I'm going to need a research lab for the test some things I need to do. But first I have to find the seraph before the JIDA do."

With that Jason begins his search for the Fifth Trumpet the Angel of Destruction.
