Chapter 84: Meeting a Character from the Past

Goddess Clan.

The Goddess Clan is one of the five major races in the world of Seven Deadly Sins.

The Goddess Clan and their realm were created by the Supreme Deity, after she was created by Chaos, alongside the Demon King and the Sacred Tree.

3,000 years ago, the Goddess Clan constantly clashed with the Demon Clan. Similar to the latter's Ten Commandments, this clan has their elite unit, the Four Archangels, which even the Ten Commandments must be wary of, according to Monspeet.

Despite often battling, most goddesses acted gentle towards humans and considered killing demons as a way to save them. However, the two legendary clans were largely evenly matched and thus a tentative balance was created.

At some point in time, they broke a treaty with the Demon Clan and even slaughtered many women and children they were holding as prisoners of war.

However, when Meliodas had betrayed his people for his alliance and relationship with the Supreme Deity's daughter Elizabeth and severely crippled their strength by killing two members of the Ten Commandments, the rest of the goddesses seized the opportunity to finally defeat the Demon Clan and instigated the Giant Clan, Fairy Clan and humans against them, starting the Holy War.

As a result, the Demon Clan was ultimately defeated by the Goddess Clan and their allied clans and sealed away in the Coffin of Eternal Darkness for 3,000 years, realizing it was the only way to win after losing their strongest fighter Mael.

Despite their victory, they lost much of their power and the ability to maintain their physical forms to seal the Demon Clan for 3,000 years. The souls of the Goddess Clan came to inhabit within objects, only being able to manifest themselves by taking the body of another being as a vessel.

According to Jelamet, a majority of the goddesses inhabit places called "Sky Palaces", where they lay dormant, as she made use of the gate in the altar to bring the remainder of the Goddess Clan to invade and control Britannia.

An unknown Goddess had taken possession of the Horn of Cernunnos to manipulate Humans and force them to attack Meliodas, but what happened to her after the destruction of the Horn is unknown. Jenna and Zaneri were two Divine Soldiers who simply chose to desert the Divine Militia because they no longer agreed with their peers on the merits of the Holy War and took possession of two human twins to hide from other Goddesses.

Ironically, they took the opportunity to become the Leaders of the first Druids, who worship the Goddess Clan.

In the present day with Hendrickson unleashing the Ten Commandments by incompletely breaking the seal, the Four Archangels "revived" to join the reincarnation of Elizabeth, the Seven Deadly Sins, and the other races against the Demon Clan, now facing a new Holy War.

However, two of them lost their physical bodies again while it was revealed that the Archangel Mael is still alive and turned into one of the Ten Commandments.

After the return of Mael, the leader of the Archangels also loses his physical form at the end of the new Holy War, making Mael possibly the last of the Four Archangels.

Following the defeat of Cath Palug, Orlondi is seen breaking out of the underground bunker in the ruins of Camelot and is seen helping Nanashi bring out the people where most were saved by Nanashi, as it is revealed he is a Goddess but for some reason, there are four scars on his back where his wings used to be and claim it to be an old story as he was now nothing more than a wandering swordsman with no master.

Months after the end of the New Holy War, Mael returned to the Celestial Realm, where several Goddesses appear having recovered their physical forms, and vow to follow Mael in his new mission of protecting the Celestial Realm.

Members of the Goddess Clan appear entirely human other than one pair, or more, of angel-like wings. Some Goddesses have been shown to have more divergent features, like Tarmiel, who possess multiple heads or be as tall as a Giant.

Higher ranking Goddesses are generally distinguished by their multiple pairs of wings. The number of wings and their size are generally indicators of a Goddess' power.

Whenever some Goddesses inhabit a physical vessel or whenever they use their magical powers, their eyes become orange and manifest a triskelion symbol.

The Goddess Clan is an extremely powerful race able to stand on equal ground with the Demon Clan, although it required the cooperation of the fairies, giants, and humans to seal them away after losing their strongest fighter.

Despite their power, they needed physical forms to affect the world by their actions.

According to Ludociel, they aren't actual Gods like the Demon King and the Supreme Deity or the Sacred Tree, despite their massive power. Members of the Goddess Clan share several common abilities:

Ark: An archetypal magic technique of the Goddess Clan that creates light particles, often involving the target in a dazzling sphere of light that breaks apart their body. It mostly counteracts darkness by disintegrating, though it also can cause physical damage.

Purge: A technique that erases "abominable" souls, such as vampires and demons. This technique was passed down to the Druids.

Resurrection: Ban sought out the Goddesses to resurrect Elaine, believing that something like that should be easy for them. One of them said that the resurrection of a single fairy is an easy task.

Tensei no Izanai: Although even Mael, one of the mightiest Goddesses, cannot resurrect the dead, he can use a technique that allows deceased souls to reincarnate in a new life with their memories of their past life intact, rather than resurrect them, the veracity of the statement has to be proven still.

Healing: This is the natural ability that all Goddesses have allowing them to heal any living creature, even Demons if controlled enough, healing any injuries and diseases.

Invigorate: By channeling their healing power through Ark, Goddesses can counteract negative effects, such as severe injuries either caused physical damage or miasma, to even strong poisonous acid. It can also recover health and stamina or clear a mind full of intense negative emotions such as hatred and madness. This power has the opposite effect on Demons when not controlled enough, hurting them and repelling their power.

Tranquilize: By raising both their arms, a Goddess can create a purifying mist strong enough to expel centuries-worth of demonic miasma out of the target.

Breath of Bless: A spell that only a high-ranking Goddess could use. The user gathers light in their palm to create some kind of symbol and blow it over their desired target, with those affected getting a magic power boost.

The Demon Clan refers to this technique as because it is also a brainwashing spell that turns the targets into fanatical zealots loyal to the Goddesses with no regard for their injuries and keeps on fighting until they are broken and dead.

Possession: With the consent of or forming a pact with another being, Goddesses can take their bodies as vessels and use them as their own, being able to use all his/their abilities through their vessel, despite not being so strong that with their original bodies.

However, the vessel especially humans may have difficulty hosting high-ranking Goddesses, leading their bodies to transform. The compatibility between the vessel and the Goddess can affect its overall strength.

Flight: Given the nature of their wings, this allows the Goddesses to fly. The stronger ones even have the strength enough to carry a giant.

Time Regression Spell: A spell that allows one to send the soul of another being towards the past. This spell can be taught to members of other races, mainly the Druids.

Longevity: It is suggested that the Goddesses have the longest lifespan among the five races, as each of the Four Archangels has lived for several thousands of years, even before the loss of their physical forms, longer than any Demon, Fairy, or Giant can live…

I was running at full speed listening to the tavern bartender of the information saying that it takes about a week to reach the place and I'm breaking it at a new record speed leaving a trail of dust in my wake.

Although I'm enjoying my new immortality from the Fountain of Youth because of how much of a regenerative factor it became to me.

Ban's power of immortality is the same one I have since I drank from the same one as I get the bonus effects of me getting it. The healing factor is pretty much great as it heals me instantaneously as well as boosts my other healing-based quirks.

Still, though all the roads around this place are certainly deserving as I was going at a fast-paced speed.

*Clang*

But that was when I hear sounds of fighting as I heard them from afar maybe I should take a look to see what's going on around here. Quickly dashing towards the sound taking a small detour I managed to see a fight between one Angel and three demons.

More specifically the fatty fucks of the Red Demons against…

"Die demon scum!! !!!"

The person cursing the now two Red Demons is Elizabeth the Goddess version at least as I was left honestly left what the fuck am, I am seeing right now.

Elizabeth looks identical to Elizabeth Liones, except for a shorter fringe and with two pairs of wings on her back, the second pair smaller than the first. Her eyes are blue but manifest the symbol of a triskele in both her eyes whenever she uses her powers.

Elizabeth wears a dark maroon tie over a white collared sleeveless dress that exposes her back, and cloth shoes adorned with a ribbon.

As I was left somewhat surprised at this knowing this is drastically different from what I remembered Aiba responded an answer for me inside my head as she spoke, 'Uh… sir it looks like we're at a time where Elizabeth hasn't met her future lover Meliodas. She even got a title called the 'Bloodstained Ellie' as it implies that Elizabeth was once ruthless towards the Demon Clan she slew by her hand before she met Meliodas and fell in love with him.'

Fuck…

That was something I wasn't exactly ready to meet yet honestly seeing the Elizabeth from manga and anime be like the rest till she met Meliodas…

I was not ready for today for this.

Shaking my head, a bit at least I know where she hasn't met the older son of the demon king, yet I might as well help her out because who knows that this might backfire for not helping in the future, but I don't need to be seen.

Using my in stealth mode and using my Nen to hide my presence as I quickly go-ahead to help her out as she was busy dealing with one of the Red Demons seeing that one of them was coming after her from the right.

Rushing over I managed to catch the demon red-handed heh…

*TEAR*

I grip the arm as the demon started to scream as I caught the other two off guard as I ripped the demon's arm as it bleeds but then I used the power as I conjured a salt tornado as a large amount soon made in contact with the two as Elizabeth backed away from the salt.

"ARGG!!"

"GRRAA!"

*Swoosh*

Well, what do you know the demons here are also as affected by using the power of the Seraph in this world as I see that the salt started to transmute them into literal pillars of salt as the demons soon fell apart as salt.

Just like that, the demon fell apart as Elizabeth then begin to observe around the area trying to find me or more specifically the guy responsible for the salt attack, "Hello! Anyone here that caused that! I promise to not attack as I want to thank you for your assistance with those vile demons! Hello…?"

Hmm…

Now how would I go about this dealing with Elizbeth here?

I could have the chance to get the ability of the actual Goddess Clan abilities or I can go away right now to leave her clueless and make sure she can't find me.

The pro for the second one is it's too risky to take her abilities unless I kill her, and I don't want to deal with an actual Goddess right now so it's best to call it quits here and return to my actual goal.

But there is the chance to get the knowledge of the Goddess Clan without her knowing and there doesn't seem to be anyone around to stop me. Plus learning of their brainwashing magic can help me create a countermeasure just in case as that is too good to slip out of my hands…

Fuck this is a hard choice to choose here….

Fuck it even if I hide now, she or someone related to her might come for me I just need to make sure she doesn't connect the dots in the future…

But I can at least let her know that it was me for now since I don't want anyone snooping around so as I went down taking off the armor as the salt tornado soon disappeared as I revealed myself as she thanked me, "Oh! Thank you very much human for the assistance I hope to thank the person help me. Thank you very much."

*Thud*

With that, she flew down right next to my face as I was now standing in front of Elizabeth in the past as she thanks me with a nice tone, "Thanks again for helping me human. I am from the Goddess Clan Elizabeth thanks for the assistance traveler."

Well since she's already this close I might as well get the powers of the Goddess Clan I won't get a better chance than this. Even the others would be warier of my abilities, but I can't be too picky here either.

This might be a once and a lifetime chance that came before me to get it's either I get the ability now or never. Thinking of that I already tried checking my area using the
