Qualifying Rounds
Today was an exciting day because the Qualifying battles of the Ever Grande Conference were starting today. Tyson, Morrison and the gang were at the Pokémon waiting for instructions of the battles. Nurse Joy told the trainers the instructions; the rules for the qualifying rounds was that the 256 trainers had to battle in three matches, all double battles, and only 32 trainers had to win all three to make it to the final rounds. If they lost just one battle they would be out of the tournament.
"Wow, sounds like this will be hard, especially since you can't lose one battle if you want to get to the next round." May commented.
"Yeah, but I'll beat all three of my opponents no matter what." Ashlyn said, confidently.
"That goes double for me." Morrison declared.

It wasn't long until the Qualifying Rounds started. These rounds were being held in the mini stadiums that stood in the inner circle that surrounded the main stadium. The gang and Tyson had watched Morrison's battle which he won with his Growlithe and Gligar and his opponent, Gavin, who had a Marowak and Machamp. So he was able to move onto the next round.

Later that day was Ashlyn's turn to battle and she faced a trainer named Dominick. Morrison was watching this battle with the others. She had won against his Swalot and Tropius with Sumire (Grumpig) and Shula (Torkoal).

It had been a long day for Ashlyn, Morrison and Tyson with the Qualifying Rounds. Tyson also won his first double battle round. But they still had another two battles to go before they could battle in the final battles.

That day was filled with more double battles for the qualifying rounds. The 128 trainers, including Ashlyn, Morrison and Tyson, who made it past the first rounds of the Qualifying rounds, were desperate to get to the final rounds. Ashlyn, Morrison and Tyson defeated their opponents and made it to the third round. So by then there were now 64 trainers left.

The next day, Ashlyn was going against her last opponent; a trainer named Clark. The peculiar thing about Clark was that he conducted his Pokémon in battles like a symphony. Ashlyn called out Warrin (Glalie) and Kazuki (Sceptile) to battle this time. Clark decided right away that he would win this battle because he called out Quilava and Charizard.

"Oh-oh, since Charizard and Quilava are both fire type, Kazuki and Warrin will have the disadvantage because they're a grass and ice type." May said.
"That's true." Brock agreed.
"But I'm sure Ashlyn will know what to do; she always does up against a disadvantage." Alain added.

"Kazuki, use Dragon Breath on Charizard! Warrin, Ice Shard on Quilava!" Kazuki launched his Dragon Breath and Warrin with his Ice Shard.
"Charizard, use Flamethrower! Quilava, Flame Wheel!" Charizard's Flamethrower broke apart Kazuki's Dragon Breath and Quilava stopped Warrin's Ice Shard from hitting with Flame Wheel and then it tackled Warrin.
"Fight Quilava back with Crunch, Warrin," Warrin bit down on Quilava, and of course Quilava received a lot of pain from that.
"Now go in with Headbutt!" Quilava received more damage after Warrin headbutted it.
"Okay, Charizard let's get on with Heatwave! Quilava, move in with Quick Attack!" Clark ordered.
"Warrin, counter that Heatwave with Blizzard! Kazuki, counterattack Quilava with your Quick Attack!" Ashlyn commanded.
Kazuki and Quilava tackled each other with Quick Attack. Then Charizard and Warrin blew Heatwave and Blizzard at each other. The Blizzard and Heatwave attacks collided with each other and caused an explosion.
"Kazuki, Dragon Breath on Quilava!" Kazuki's Dragon Breath hit Quilava and Quilava fainted.
So Clark was only down to one Pokémon, but this didn't ruin his battling spirits.
"Charizard to strike Sceptile with Wing attack!" Charizard's wings glowed a metallic color and it flew straight towards Kazuki.
"Quick, Kazuki Protect!" Kazuki projected a green barrier in front of himself, protecting him from Charizard's Wing Attack.
"Charizard, attack with Flamethrower!" Charizard launched his Flamethrower attack.
"Use Protect Warrin!" Warrin got in front of Kazuki and created his shield to protect Kazuki and himself from the Flamethrower attack.
"Now use Water Pulse!" Warrin fired water pulse and Charizard got hit by the water attack.
"Okay Warrin, Kazuki, let's finish now with Dark Pulse and Bullet Seed!" Warrin fired a Dark Pulse attack and Kazuki fired seeds from his mouth. Charizard got hit by both of them.
After this last hit, Charizard fainted, giving Ashlyn her third win and her right to battle in the final rounds.

A/N: I'm not putting the "Pokémon Caught" list up because Ashlyn isn't catching any Pokémon while she's at the conference. I'll put it up after the conference is over.
