Chapter 7

At Cheryl Chen's family house, as Sophie said that she wasn't going to be a fashion designer anymore but an accountant everyone was shocked and they all went silent and the music stopped.

They were all confused wondering what happened and Cheryl Chen explained that they were all discussing about what they wanted to do in future and she teased Sophie a bit but she never knew that Sophie hasn't been teased before so Sophie got angry and said that she wasn't going to be a fashion designer but an accountant.

Cheryl Chen said that inorder not for Sophie to change her mind later, Sophie must post on her weibo and she must not change her mind unless she is a coward.

Sophie posted it and promised that she wasn't going to change her mind.

After the birthday party, the Zhao family and Sophie were in a SUV going home but nobody talked. Jasmine Zhao was hesitating whether to talk or not but she later kept quiet.

When they got home, Sophie went to her home and slept then came downstairs four hours later.

As Sophie left her room and walked down the stairs, Jasmine Zhao suddenly glanced at her from downstairs.

When their eyes met, Jassy Zhao had an expression that was filled with worry, blame and anger. She appeared to have something to say but instead, she hesitated.

Her best friend Sophie Lu was cherished by her late family from a young age and could not withstand the mockery from Cheryl Chen.

Although Devin Zhao had been in the corporate world for many years and had been through various matters, large or small, he had never frowned and creased his brows but today event made his eyes red because he felt he had disappointed his late friend.

Grace Chen started to cry on her husband shoulder. She sobbed that if she hadn't threatened Cheryl Chen. She wouldn't had hated Sophie to this extend and mocked Sophie in the public.

The married couple looked at each other, their eyes filled with sadness, lament, worry and blame. The couple and Jassy Zhao were blaming themselves.

Jassy Zhao said that Sophie doesn't need to change her childhood dream and also Sophie was very talented when it came to fashion designing.

Jassy Zhao was trying hard to convince Sophie not to change her dreams by showing Sophie some of the trophies and award she won and collected when Sophie participated in a fashion designing competition.

Jassy Zhao continued by saying that Cheryl Chen was jealous of her and that why Cheryl mocked her because she knew that Sophie has a talent in fashion designing and Cheryl knew that she wasn't Sophie competitor when it comes to fashion designing.

Wesley and Aidan Zhao also tried and convinced Sophie. Wesley Zhao said that Cheryl Chen was a jealous person and Sophie doesn't need to change her dream because of someone's mockery. Aidan Zhao added that if Sophie was afraid of what people would say if she changed. Sophie shouldn't be worried that the Zhao family would explain that she and Cheryl were just joking.

Devin Zhao added that they would organize a press conference to explain that Cheryl and Sophie were teasing each other and she wasn't going to change her dream.

The ten year old child Sophie Lu looked petite and small compared to her peers. She had a small doll like face with delicate features.

At this moment, Sophie silence made the Zhao family feel more terrible.

Grace Chen lowered her voice and scolded Sophie “Sophie you don't need to think about it again, don't worry about what other people would say, just focus on your dream. In a bit, my husband and I would call Cheryl Chen and said her to post on her weibo that the two of you were just joking and if that is not enough we will call for a press meeting saying that you and Cheryl were joking.

Sophie shook her head.

She knew that there is no point changing her mind. If she tried to to change her mind, people would see her as a coward and Cheryl Chen and her friends would use that opportunity to mock her everytime they met and that would be a stain in her reputation for the rest of her life.

Sophie told the Zhao family that she wasn't going to change her mind and also she is determined to study accounting since she was going to inherit her family company.

Devin Zhao and Grace Zhao had a shocked expression on their faces. They glanced at each other eyes and knew it will be useless trying to convince since she had that stubborn look that her father has anytime he was determined to get something.

Jassy Zhao tried again to convince Sophie but Devin Zhao interrupted her saying that if Sophie already made up her mind then she should not regret it in future since it's her choice.
