Chapter Eight- The Fair

We've been wandering around for almost half an hour and we still haven't found Nikkita and Kean yet. That means half an hour of Jordon's constant whining,Michael's randomness and San's awkward silence.

I have known these guys for less than 2 hours and I already feel like jumping off a cliff. Is this what people normally do? I kind of feel greatful for all those years of being alienated, now that I've got to experience interacting with human beings that aren't my family members. How much more weird can these guys get.

I shouldn't be complaining though because they are helping me look for my siblings who most probably ditched me and went in search of our parents.

"We've been walking for a while now, why don't we just have some fun before it's time for the fair to close and for all of us to go home." Karan says walking up besides me.

"Yeah. I'm sure we might even bump into them. You always find what you are looking for when you're no longer looking for it, at least that's the case with me when I look for matching socks." Diego adds.

I consider their offer and really don't see any problem with having a little harmless fun, "Sure. What do you guys want to do first?"

"How about we go into the haunted house." As soon as San suggests this Michael turns around so fast I'm surprised his head hasn't snapped off.

"How can you guys even think of something like that? Have you no mercy?", he says looking at San in disgust.

"Why? Is little Mikey afraid of the haunted house?" Diego mocks him.

Michael instantly pales and it looks like he is about to pass out any minute. Just before I can offer him words of encouragement and comfort I hear something awfully similar to "Jordi boo." We all turn to see what Michael is looking at and when the rest of the guys see what it is or rather who it is they all turn pale too.

As the short blonde approaches us it is confirmed that I indeed did hear correctly and I come to a conclusion that her voice sounds as if she has inhaled multiple helium filled balloons. It's high pitched and annoying and if I'm not mistaken I can catch a little of venom in her tone and the deadly look in her eyes gives away her intentions.

Jordon is the first to run into the haunted house and the rest of them follow him one by one. San pulls me by the sleeve as my feet are glued to the ground, it seems to be doing that a lot lately, and we make a run for it. Diego throws a bunch of notes at the boy standing by the door and we all run in.

"Who was that?" I ask once I've caught my breath and we are in the safety of the haunted house.

"That is Jordan's crazy-obsessed ex girlfriend." Karan says panting.

She sure looked crazy angry, I wonder what Jordon did to her to make her so enraged, well besides them not dating anymore.

"Let's just enjoy the haunted house, yeah?" Jordon rushes over his shoulder as he speed walks straight into a spider web.

He then proceeds to let out a high pitched scream and throw his hands into the air entangling himself even more.

After we finally managed to get Jordon out of the spider web, which involved a lot of him moving and entangling himself more and me slapping him on the back of his head for not noticing it in the first place, we continue moving down the path.

Michael can't seem to stop passing gas, Karan is basically clinging onto my arm because he is so scared and Diego screams every time he hears a noise.

You would never have guessed they were the ones who suggested we go into the haunted house, I guess that unpleasant encounter with Jordon's ex, whose name I've come to know is Meghan, has all of them shook. She didn't seem that intimidating, sure she looked as if she could have killed someone but she seemed like the type that wouldn't really hurt a fly, but then again I'm not the best in terms of people skills.

San is fortunately the only normal one that wasn't affected by the haunted house and angry ex. He just continues walking ahead of us with his hands in his hoodie looking bored to death. I don't blame him though, the supposed scariest things weren't even that scary at all. No matter how many fake spiders and snakes or fat clowns that came my way I didn't feel the least bit scared. I guess when you've watched as many horror movies as I have you become immune to these petty things.

Just when I thought I was going to either cry or rip out my hair because of how predictable this whole thing was, a tiny figure runs straight up to San and body slams him. He falls backwards with a loud thud taking the person along with him.

A lot of screams and curse words can be heard and the figure with fimiliar golden blonde hair sits on top of San hitting his chest and tugging at his hair. It's too dark in here to make out who this anonymous body slamer is but once the lights are switched on and the staff come running in to break up what ever the heck is happening in here, I'm not surprised to see that it is Meghan strangling San.

Once she realizes that she's trying to kill the wrong boy she quickly jumps off him and tries to make a run for it. Just as she's about to successfully escape though, the guards catch her and drag her off to Who Knows Where. We all rush over to a purple San's side and try to help him up. It takes a while but after we've been refunded due to the 'inconvenience' and San manages to walk a bit on his own we set out to find our next ride.

"Jassy, there you are! We have been looking all over for you." Is what I hear as we walk past the the Ferris wheel line.

I turn to find the owner of the voice is Nikkita with a creepy smile on her face as she and Kean are in the front of the line for the death trap ride. Confusion is evident on her face as she looks behind me and sees the boys. I then realize that in a normal social situation it is important to introduce the guys to my siblings, so I do just that.

"How did you guys meet?" Kean says once the greetings and names have been exchanged.

"Well Jordon actually bumped into her, literally. And since she's a natural people's person..." yeah right, " ...we all just kind of hit it off." Karan explains.

Well he can totally exaggerate things a bit. Me? A people's person? What a joke! I can't stand people. But I won't tell them that. Who am I to crush their dreams.

Then it's as if a light bulb goes off in Nikkita's head because she doesn't waste time in asking the boys to join us on the Ferris wheel and in less than a heart beat they all say yes. They all obviously force me to join them against my will and ignore all my protests and threats.

Next thing I know I'm being buckled in next to Michael and then the wheel starts turning. I close my eyes the minute our cart leaves the ground and I don't dare open it until Michael speaks.

"It's okay now Jass, you can open your eyes. I'm here with you." He says touching my hand lightly.

The contact makes me flinch and my eyes immediately open. He stares back at me completely confused and shocked, after some time his facial features soften and he smiles at me.

"You don't have to be afraid of me. I will never harm you in any way. And I'll always be here for you to talk to if you ever need to vent.", he says assuming he knows why I don't like people touching me.

"Thank you.", I say forcing a smile back at him.

" You're welcome. It's what friends are for after all.", he says taking me by surprise.

I've just met them, certainly it takes a little more than surviving a haunted house and a mad ex to make you friends with someone.

I look down and I suddenly feel dizzy. We are so high up. This is all too much to process in one night. My head feels as if it's spinning and I feel really nauseous.

When I feel the bile rising up I quickly lean over to the right side of the cart and empty out all the contents of my stomach.

I honestly don't know whether it was the fact that I ate too fast and too much or if it's the height thing or the fact that someone considers me as their friend but whatever it is, it just made me puke on a bunch or random adults and their kids. That was really disgusting.

I turn to Michael, feeling really embarrassed, ready to apologize and see the look of disgust on his face. But when I turn I see him smiling at me trying his best not to laugh, the look on my face however was most probably priceless as he seems to burst out laughing. I soon join him and we both laugh like a bunch of lunatics uncontrollably.

"That was so sick!" He says as soon as we've calmed down. I smile at him and he returns the gesture. Maybe hanging out with these guys isn't as bad as I initially thought after all.
