Chapter 5: The truth of the world.

Basic, intermediate, and advanced speed reading, origins, study and applications of magic, spiritual and ancestral magic, elemental, light, dark, temporal and creation magic, intermediate and advanced applications of magic, transformation magics and curses, sorcery, magical creatures, pentagrams, divine magic, magic combination theory and its applications in combat, runes, magical tools, weapons and artifacts, catalyst stones, anti-magic.

These are just some of the books Gin had to read from the moment he accepted Kimino's proposal.

At first, Kimino indicated to Gin the books she had to read, but seeing that she had trouble locating those books in the huge library, after sighing, Kimino instructed the spirits to bring her the books she needed.

Hearing her talk to the spirits, was not very surprising to Gin, since it was Kimino she was talking about, but still, this event was strange even for spirit mages and wizards who made pacts with elder spirits.

Spirits rarely show themselves before other races, except for nymphs who are pacifists, because they were afraid of them due to the violence they commonly brought with them, and even when they do show themselves before some people, these are very proud and sensitive, so it costs quite a lot to converse with them and much more to make a pact, so Kimino's actions in sending as if nothing to a lesser spirit, and receiving approval from them, was something extremely strange and unusual.

«How long must she have been in the library, for the spirits to have such trust and respect for her?»

Those thoughts aside, Gin had separated from Kimino after she had accepted, and since then her location was in the garden where she had awakened on the first day.

The spirits obeyed Kimino's instructions to the letter, and daily they would set Gin aside a new tower of thick books to learn about magic.

Gin thought that reading these books was a waste of time, since although he understood the theory of each of them, he only knew how to use creation magic, and believed that he should focus on improving that area of his magic, but just as he thought that he received another book with a note from Kimino attached to the cover, which read...

"Stop grumbling and just do it."

A clear and concise sentence indicated that Kimino knew what Gin was thinking as if she had already anticipated it.

She spent a long time combining her reading time, with her training and magical practice.

And only a month later she realized that what she was learning from the books was not useless at all.

The understanding of all magics made him understand his own in a better way.

For any person to be able to invoke magic, three factors influence the creation of magic which are, concentration, tranquility, and feeling.

If one of them is missing, the magic is weak or simply disappears, and sometimes magicians are not even able to invoke it.

Training his body and studying helped him to focus on the first factor, the second was achieved through meditation, and the last was due to his determination to move forward, thanks to his family.

Now that he had learned all this he realized that the Golem he had on his shoulder before the attack on his village had disappeared without realizing it because his emotions fluctuated so much during that time.

But now, that would not happen again and he was currently able to create much larger golems, from the size of a person to even a size of over 20 meters tall, although if he got to that maximum, due to his lack of experience he could only control three.

Eventually, again thanks to meditation, he managed to contact Belphegor, who did not talk much, which worried Gin, as he thought he did not like him very much.

However, Kimino explained to Gin that this was because Belphegor was a hermit and was not very used to talk to people, that was the first time he saw in his mind such a powerful demon ashamed.

Still, he managed to master his communication with Belphegor, which meant that he could call him whenever he wanted, although he didn't like to do so, since every time he did, his consciousness split in two or they changed places between them to communicate, which was a strange and unpleasant experience for Gin.

And so 22 months had passed in the blink of an eye.

Both physically and in magical mastery, Gin was superior to any soldier in any realm, according to Kimino, he probably had 25% of the total power of Emperor Clover Terminus, which surprised Gin, as he is known as one of the 10 most powerful in the world.

Gin wanted to know out of curiosity what was the relationship between her and that renowned emperor, but at this moment she had to do something much more important.

The days she spent in the library was sometimes fun, sometimes stressful, sometimes even dangerous, she endured hard training by Kimino, studied day and night, had a strict diet of only edible plants from the main garden of the library, and managed to meet again with Belphegor, all to achieve her first goal.

The time had come to hear the truth about this war, no, the truth about this world, from the mouths of the most powerful and intelligent entities in this place.

—Although it is not a very pleasant story to tell, I think that I, the one who has lived the longest should begin, any objections? —Belphegor spoke politely from Gin's body and then asked cordially to Gin who shook her head from her mind and to Kimino, who closed her eyes as if accepting Belphegor's suggestion and preparing to listen.

They were currently in a spacious room, in a circle that was formed with giant bookshelves that seemed to have no end as they looked up at the ceiling that also couldn't be seen at all, and spiraled around the rest of the room.

Each bookshelf had its long ladder with wheels attached to them, however, the height at which the books were located, made it simpler to use wind magic to lift yourself faster, but since not everyone possessed that magic, Gin supposed it was inevitable to use those ladders, and couldn't help but pity those people in his mind.

This room was called the historical library, which was one of the 4 rooms that made up the chrono-dimensional library not counting the central garden.

The other rooms were the library of names, which was an unrealistically huge place, since in that place there was information on all existing living beings, including plants, humanoid species, beasts, and every human in existence since the beginning of time.

Then there was the library of magic, which was where Gin met Kimino for the first time, where all the data concerning magic is stored, from the origin to its most specific applications.

Then comes the library of the world, where every place on earth that has ever existed is recorded, its inhabitants, its rulers, relationships, economic activities, among other equally relevant data.

And then there is the library they were in, where all the historical data recorded by living beings is stored.

The reason why Gin could never have found what he was looking for in this room, was because no one recorded that event in any journal, document, or book, and the pertinent data about that event was erased from existence, by the gods themselves, as Belphegor and Kimino explained to him, so it would be impossible for this library to have it, except for the subway room of the library that Kimino showed him on one occasion, called the library of heaven and hell, however the entrance to it was forbidden, and not even Kimino was able to break that seal, so it was useless to think of that place as a possibility to obtain that knowledge.

When Kimino showed her the entrance, she could not help biting her right thumbnail in frustration at not being able to enter.

There was a time when she spent all her magic trying to destroy the entrance, and even tried to astral travel and break through the door, but the seal was absolute, whatever the reason was for wanting so desperately to enter that place, she had no choice but to give up.

Still, none of that mattered anymore, since the answer was here...

—Where should I begin, let's see... I think I will start from the origin of everything, but you should know that what you will hear will only be the main parts of what happened, after all, when this event reached its critical point, I was still a pile of miasma waiting to take shape, I only remember fragments, but if I can tell you something I will tell you that the main reason behind this war, was the death of an angel. —Belphegor seemed unsure how to begin the story, he was definitely not a good storyteller, but at least he had given him a hint about the truth.

«An angel, huh?»

Gin didn't know how the hierarchy of heaven worked, nevertheless, he didn't let his ignorance detract from the matter, after all, if a demon from the underworld was killed, it could also be seen as a "casus belli", on the part of the heavens.

But still, for no peace agreement to have been reached all this time, what kind of angel could have caused such a stir in the world as to give rise to a war of these proportions?

—That's right... the trigger for this war was the assassination of the angel Gabriel, the right hand of the Supreme God. —Belphegor reiterated with a serious and melancholic expression on his face.

When Gin heard the name of that angel, he was shocked.

He could not believe that such a kind and powerful entity would be killed, much less by demons who were relatively peaceful beings.

Gin could do nothing but try to process that revelation, and continue listening to the origin of this story.
