Comfort

The sun wakes me up by shining in my eyes. I groan and roll over. Oliver responds by wrapping his arms around me tighter. Now, I’m stuck. The clock sits behind his shoulder warning me of work. “Oliver,” I whisper in his ear. He doesn’t respond but rolls his head into my chest. I run my hand through his hair and use it to lightly pull his face back. His eyes slowly open and a smile accompanies it. “Morning. You better let go. We have to get ready for work soon.”

“No, I don’t want to get out of bed.” He drops his head back into my chest. I start to argue when he rolls over and lays on top of me. “We’ll just stay here. Snow too dangerous to go to work.” He rumbles into my chest.

“It’s not even snowing anymore dummy.”

“We’re snowed in. What can we do?” His lips rub across my collar bone as he talks. We both seem to notice, and he accompanies it with kisses on my collar.

“How could we tell them that we’re both snowed in? They’d be suspicious.”
