I See You

I roll over to face Oliver. He’s been staying over a lot to help me sleep. It does help me feel comfortable enough to sleep, but it’s also nice to wake up to him in the morning. My bed is kind of small, so we sleep closely. He always sleeps so deeply; it makes me envious. Regrettably I wake him up, and we get ready for school. The school day is long, but luckily, we get out early. We only had a half day, so it’s a perfect day for a long car ride.

After school I go over to Mary and Ethan’s house. I’d called Ethan and told him some lie about how I’d gotten accepted into a school. How I wanted to make sure it was going to be a good fit but didn’t have a way to drive there. As I predicted he told me I could borrow his car, and I graciously accepted. Mary is the only one there when I get there. Ethan is still at work. “I’ll be getting back kind of late. So, I’ll text you tomorrow.” She gives me a small nod and squeezes my arm. With a quick hug I leave her standing in the driveway.
