Chapter 49 (B)

“Call Mr Carter’s parents and tell them to come to school immediately.” Mr Dunkin ordered someone on the phone.

I heard him dial another number as now my sobs were quietened. I was still looking at my shaking hands on my lap, sniffling.

“Come to my office, Mr Brown.” My ears perked up and I finally looked up at Mr Dunkin who was putting down the receiver. He met my eyes but his eyes didn’t hold any kind of expression but then his eyes softened.

“Noah, don’t worry. No harm will come your way. You just have to speak up for yourself. I assure you Ryan would not get out of this easily.” He said looking at me. I instantly broke the eye contact and turned my eyes back to my lap.

I heard the door open behind me and I shifted in my position, knowing it was Ryan.

“Come sit, Mr Brown.” Mr Dunkin said. I was waiting for Ryan to sit next to me but it didn’t happen. He sat on the couch at the corner of the room.
