Chapter 3

"Captain Sharks! We have to go now! The bandit is escaping!"

"We can't! The car engine won't start!"

"Alec! Elena! Come on inside! I've baked cookies for both of you!"

"Cookies!" They both scream while sprinting into the house.

Alec take one and put it whole inside his mouth.

"Miss Clark, you made the best cookies!" he say with a smile on his face.

"Of course she does! It's my mom!"

"Whatever Elena. Bleh!" He say sticking his tounge out to her.

"That's rude Alec!"

As she were about to hit him, her mother block her hand.

"Don't hit Alec, Elena"

"But he stick his tounge out on me!"

"And you did that a lot to him too you know"

Elena look at Alec with anger in her eyes meanwhile Alec look at her with satisfaction.

Her mother stand up for him and what more, he got to eat delicious cookie straight from the oven!

When they were having their time, someone call Alec's name. Alec couldn't hear it because they were still arguing about him sticking his tounge to Elena.

It were until Miss Clark sees two grown up man, running towards her house.

"Maurice and Jacob? Why are they running towards here?"

"Alec! Alec!" Maurice scream as loud as he could.

Alec turn his head around and see two men gasping on the lawn.

One has very beautiful brown hair with dark eyes, it were Maurice.

He then look at the other guy, he has blonde hair and light brown eyes, that's Jacob.

He look at them in confusion.

"Alec, do you have your dad's phone number?" Maurice speak up.

"Yes I do have my dad's phone number. I always keep them in my pocket"

"Give it to me"

"Why?"

" I say give it to me!"

Alec take a piece of paper out from his pocket and about to give it to him. When Maurice were about to reach it, Miss Clark take it from Alec's hand forcefully.

"Clara!"

"What were you planning to do?"

"Give it to me!"

"Maurice! Answer me!"

Actually, Miss Clara Clark won't give it to Maurice because she knows that he secretly loves Alec's mother, Zoey Hunter.

She's afraid that Maurice will call Edwin with bad intentions.

"Clara give it to me.. please..Zoey..Zoey's in danger!"

"Zoey? What's wrong with her?"

"Her house is on fire!"

Clara couldn't believe what she just hear, she immediately turn his head to the right to check on Alec.

Alec stand there, couldn't believe his ears either.

"W..what did you say?..my mom.."

"Hurry up Clara! Give me his number!"

Clara immediately pass the piece of paper to Maurice. He take out his phone and starts to dial his number.

-hello?

-• Edwin! You have to come home now!

-is this Maurice? Why did you ask me to come back home early?

-• your wife is in danger! Your house in on fire!

- what did you say?

-• I said your house is on fire!

Maurice hang up on the call and ask Carla to take Alec to his house. Without wasting anytime, all of them including Mr. Nolen Clark goes to his house.

Once they all arrive, the house is already licked by fire.

"MOM!!"

"Have you called 911 yet" Clara ask maurice in a worried tone.

It's all written on his face, he didn't call the ambulance yet! The first thing that he did was called Edwin!

Carla could not believe him. She immediately pull out her phone and call 911.

While they all were panicking, a screech sound of a car tyre can be heard. It was Edwin.

Without hesitation, he come out from the car and run straight into the house.

"Edwin! No!" Mr. Nolen scream.

"DAD!!" Alec were trying to follow him into the house but Clara stop him.

"Alec stay here ,okay? We have to wait for the firefighters to come and save your mom okay" she says hugging him.

His tears began flooding down his cheeks.

About thirty minutes later, the firefighters team have arrives to the location. It takes them about fourty five minutes for the team to take out the fire.

The team were a little late because the first person that Maurice call was Edwin, not the firefighters. Because of that, the only thing that left of the house were the frames.

After the fire got takes out, the house immediately collapse to the ground making a loud voice.

Alec couldn't believe his eyes. He starts to scream at the top of his lungs.

He lift his feet of the ground and dash his way to the house. One of the firefighters stop him.

The one who were hugging him now is the chief of the team, Henry Maggard. He then commands to the others to search through the house.

"Boy, what's your name?"

No answer given. The only thing that could be heard were his sobbing. Henry pats his head gently as he says

"Don't worry everything is going to be alright.."

"But mommy and daddy.."

"Shhh..don't think about anything for now. Relax.."

"Chief ! We need you here!" One of his team speak up.

"You go to your aunty, okay?"

Without talking back, he goes straight to Carla.

"It's okay Alec, everything is going to be alright okay?"

Comfort Clara to Alec, kissing his forehead.

"Which one of you is the closest to boy?"

"Me! Me! It's me!" Say Maurice.

"I don't believe you" say Henry.

"You! The woman! Come here you seem to be close enough with the boy"

Clara then proceeds to walk to Henry.

They talk a little and then, Henry ask if Clara could follow him into the house. Because she were scared, she ask the chief if she could bring his husband too, Nolen Clark.

Henry agrees. The three of them walk into the house leaving Maurice, Jacob, Alec and Elena behind.

Elena take a quick glance at Alec. There's no sign of him to stop crying. The crowds there starts to feel bad towards him.

"Alec don't cry" comfort her.

"You have me! You can come and live with me!" No reply.

Because Alec were crying, Elena couldn't help but to cry too.

"Ughh..these damn kids" spouts Maurice from his mouth.

After a little while, Clara and Nolen can be seen walking out from the house. Clara were walking towards Alec with her vision facing towards the ground.

When he reaches to Alec, she kneel down and hug him as hard as she could.

When she were hugging Alec, he could feel warm tears flowing from her eyes to his neck.

"Th.. they're gone.."

Alec couldn't believe his ears.
