AN: This hopefully isn't as angsty as the others and Dakota's (Kota) isn't my oc but a friend Skylar is mine. Also, comments and constructive criticism is definitely welcome as it motivates me to do better and post more. Also even though Skylar is an angel he does not have healing powers even though most do.

Dakota's POV:
I was helping in the kitchen cabin today as Skylar had said they were asking if he could help today. I had excepted as long as he stayed which wasn't a problem because he always helped. I was cutting and peeling vegetables when I heard a loud startling noise from something falling.
"What are you doing? You alright?!" I called from the kitchen.
"Yup I'm all good Kota!" Skylar yelled back from the living room.
Blushing by the nickname I turned back to my task of cutting the vegetables for lunch. I was again startled by a loud crash of Skylar dropping something else, as we were the only ones preparing lunch at the moment, and without noticing sliced all the way down my hand I didn't notice till I faintly smelt blood. I looked down and immediately felt faint as I looked at the wound, I must have jumped doing it accidentally. I grabbed a tea towel to staunch the blood it was gonna stain it but hopefully no one will mind.
"Skylar!" I yelled really feeling the pain in my hand. He ran in within seconds with a concerned look.
"What's wrong!?" He asked then froze looking at my hand. He rushed to me and guided me to sit down on the ground and removed the tea towel halfway, to see to what extent I'd hurt myself, and gasped softly.
"How did this happen?" He asked in a slight panic.
"When you dropped something the sound of it startled me and I was cutting the vegetables," I explained.
It hurt a lot almost overwhelmingly and I had grabbed onto Skylar's shirt trying to distract me from the pain, he wrapped an arm around me while using his other hand to get another tea towel and wrap it around my hand while helping to put more pressure on the wound so it'd stop bleeding.
He propped me against the cabinet and moved my hand to replace his.
"Kota I will have to go get medical supplies for your hand cause I can treat it myself," he let go of me completely, "I'll be right back." I nodded and rested my head back trying to put as much pressure as I could handle.
"Alright, I got a first-aid kit," he knelt down and gently took my hand and tea towels off my injured hand. I hissed in pain and he softly apologized.
A bit later he had disinfected and wrapped my hand in gauze, mumbling apologies and I love you's every time I gasped or groaned in pain. Once finished, he pulls me close to hug me being wary of my wounded hand.
After a few seconds of hugging, he scooped me up, bridal style, and walked with me in his arms out of the Kitchen cabin I couldn't help the blush that appeared on my face.
"Hey we have most of it prepared but there was an accident and we are leaving. I'll be back later to come help!" Skylar yelled off to the nearest person and continued walking to his cabin. As we got inside he placed me gently on the couch and left to go get a blanket.
He came back with a light blue blanket that was my favorite of his as it was incredibly soft, he puts it on me and then plops himself on top of me but makes sure he doesn't accidentally hurt my hand more.
"Hey, Skylar what are you doing?!" I exclaim as he cuddles into me.
He chuckles, "cuddling you," his head moves up to kiss my nose. I could feel heat rush to my face and my blush return. His face suddenly turns serious as he glances at my injured hand, "please don't scare me like that again I thought something worse happened," he looked somber.
I grab the sides of his face and smiled softly at him, "I love you Sky," I softly pull him closer to kiss his lips. He smiles and lays his head back down on my chest, nuzzling his face in it, and gingerly grabbed my uninjured hand. I smiled and lightly placed my other arm over his back and I could feel all tension seep out of his form and he relaxed and eventually, he fell asleep and I found myself dozing off.
