A/N: This is the second part of Explosion and one new character will be introduced who is my friend's oc.
-Hel (supernatural Oc)
The base blew up and I was thrown backward, we had not gotten far enough, as I flew in the air I had shifted and changed where Kumi was, so she didn't get hurt. We hit the ground and the air felt like it was punched out of me, and I passed out.
"-die... Elodie... Elodie!" My eyes flew open to see Cever's face looking down at me with concern, his face turned relived when he realized I was awake. I slowly sat up and rubbed my head as I groaned a bit at the slight pounding of my head.
"Is everyone else, ok?" I asked as I recalled what happened, he chuckled.
"Yes, everyone here is alright with only minor injuries and bruises," he beamed a proud smile as he looked around at the other three that were in our group. Lilly was talking calmly to Kumi and Cever's knight was patching up a small cut on his right arm.
"What about the other team?" His smile faltered.
"I have not seen them," he looked in the direction of where the other team was supposed to come.
"Nica! Are you ok?"
"..."
No reply I felt my heart drop.
I stood up quickly pulling Cever up with me and I looked at him desperately, "we have to go over there to look and see if they're ok!" I was being overwhelmed by guilt and negative thoughts and my breathing was speeding up getting more panicked by the second. Cever gripped both of my shoulders tightly, looking right into my eyes with a hard look.
"Elodie you must not panic as that will not help them," we locked eyes as I looked up and his face was full of hope. I nodded and backed away from him and tried calming my breathing I slowly counted down from ten looking around and grounding me, so I didn't go into a full-blown panic attack. Those don't happen often but enough for me to know what to do and how to deal with them.
Once I was calm enough, I turned towards them with a frown, "alright Cever you and your knight will come with me, Lilly you stay with Kumi we will be back," they all gave nods of agreement and I turned and shifted into wolf form and once I made sure they were ready to follow I raced off as fast as I could.
Aine's POV:
The mission had gone smoothly with us finding Kiroko successfully without anything in our way except two guards which ere easy to take out but once we had started making our way back, with Kiroko slung over Skylar's shoulder as she had stubbornly tried to stand but had collapsed after two steps, Cever's Knight had taken up walking in front of me leading us back the ay we'd come, Nica had become more alert and was looking around with a twitch of her wolf ears.
Then out of nowhere, she picked up her pace and motioned for the rest of us too we did it without asking questions. We had just made it to the doors with one of them being held open by Cever's knight when the whole base blew up. Cever's knight and I were thrown out the door onto the ground. After getting over the shock of the bomb I looked up at the damage with a loud ringing in my ears, it was all I could hear now. Once I realized I couldn't see anyone other than the knight closer to the base I frantically looked around me, no one else.
After the original shock, I started slowly getting my hearing back, and at that moment someone walked out of the fire with two people in their arms. I got up as quickly as I could and stumbled as I walked closer it was Skylar carrying both Kiroko and Nica.
"Skylar! Are you guys, ok?" His face was covered with ash, but he looked angry. The knight had gotten up and stood beside me.
"I'm fine and I blocked most of the blast from Kiroko over here but Nica I'm not sure, why didn't Nica just say something I could've gotten all of us out of there faster." He exclaimed in half-hearted anger I feel he couldn't be mad when she looked to be injured. He walked towards me and gently pushed me with his shoulder to walk further away from the wreckage he gently put the two girls down. He knelt and checked both over and hissed in sympathy looking over both of their wounds.
"Both of them need to get back to camp, their burns could cause major infection if not treated soon," he stood up and looked over at me, "are you alright Aine?" He asked concerned.
I nodded, "I should be fine," I then knelt to see the wounds myself and nodded in agreement with what he said. If they get infections and aren't treated, they'll die, I stood up again. "Skylar, we need to get them over to the meeting spot to see if the others are alright."
As soon as I said that Elodie, in her wolf form, rushed out of the bushes with Cever and the other Knight by his side, the knights and their king reunited in small hugs and whispered praises. Elodie froze seeing Nica on the ground and shifted instantly, rushing over and crumbling down onto her knees, her hands ghosted over her injuries.
She didn't cry but her face held all of her emotions. I could tell two bad things would happen if we came back to camp and Nica died. One, Nica's girlfriend, Hel, would kill us all, and two the whole pack would crumble at the loss of one of their members which takes away one of our strongest groups of fighters.
Cever's POV:
This whole mission was getting out of hand, yes, we saved the two girls from captivity, and yes no one else got captured. But now we had two injured and Elodie the one who we always relied on to lead us was sitting next to one of her closest friends in shock. I had seen Elodie fight on the battlefield many times, both in human form and her glorious wolf form but never have I seen her this shaken up.
We had to leave before the humans realized their plan of killing us hadn't worked, I looked at my knights to whisper, "You two must go back to the meeting squad make sure Lilly and Kumi are safe the rest of us will come soon," they both nodded and took off running in the meetup spots direction.
"Elodie we must leave for camp before the humans decide to come to finish us off," I walked over to her and had put a hand on her shoulder, "not that we wouldn't fight but we must go back to camp." Elodie didn't move at first but after a few seconds she nodded once and stood up.
"Skylar, can you take both of them back with you to camp?" She asked, turning to look at him. He looked skeptical but nodded and gently took the girls hands in his, he closed his eyes then he was gone.
I stood there in slight shock I had never seen him teleport or whatever it was called even though I knew he was an angel it was amazing. After he disappeared Elodie turned to the rest of us and shifted into her wolf form then motioned for us to get onto her back. Aine got on without a second thought, I hesitated before getting on behind Aine. Elodie paused probably making sure we wouldn't fall off then took off in at a run towards where the others were waiting.
She seemed to be running quite fast towards the meeting spot it was much faster than my horse has ever gone, and I wondered if she could go faster or if this was the fastest, she could go. I was so lost in thoughts that when I looked up Aine had gotten off and was looking at me expectantly. I shook the thoughts away and slid off Elodie's back and walked back towards the horses we had tied hidden in the trees.
We had brought six horses knowing someone would've had to share as we only had so many at camp but with one of the girls back at camp already all was well.
"Where's Kiroko?!" The one we rescued, Kumi yelled. Aine was trying to reassure her that her girlfriend was going to be ok and was already back at camp, Kumi didn't believe her one bit. I looked over at Elodie and she hadn't shifted back to human form and was paying no mind to Kumi's yelling she looked like she was waiting for everyone to be ready.
Lilly and my two knights were already untying the horses and had started to bring them out into the open to mount them. Aine had continued to try and comfort Kumi, but it had no effect and after a while, Elodie had picked her up gently by her clothes and had put her on a horse and motioning for us to get going as I could tell she was getting impatient.
The rest of us mounted our steeds and we started riding with Elodie leading the way back to camp. It was a day away from where our camp was but with the pace that Elodie had set we were bound to get there faster if our horses didn't give out before getting there.
Skylar's POV:
Teleporting with my angelic powers with three people including myself had not been the best idea but the look on Elodie's face said it was the only way to get them both here at Camp before their injuries got worse.
We ended up teleporting to right in the middle of the campground startling quite a few campers as they all paused not knowing fully what to do when Jamie Hunt, who helped in the med tent, came rushing up to us and looked over the two girls and seeing the burns she yelled over her shoulder.
"Someone tell Dawn we're coming with injured campers!" Someone rushed away and a few others came forward to help pick the two up. I slowly stood up but swayed feeling lightheaded at the extensive amount of energy it took, Jamie came to my side to steady me, and as others took the two girls, she guided me to the med tent.
Once inside Jamie led me to one of the cots set up and tried laying me down, I could faintly see both Kiroko and Nica being put down in separate cots with Dawn and the others helping her were rushing all around and treating them. A few seconds later Nico rushed into the med tent with the other werewolves not far behind all with concerned and angry looks on their faces.
"What happened?!" Nico shouted out in anger and concern, I had sat up a bit and leaned up against some pillows that Jamie had provided after not being able to get me to lay down. I could see him starting to lose control and Hook who was right beside him seemed to notice too and he put a hand on his shoulder.
"Nico get a hold of yourself or we'll have to go outside," Hook threatened and Nico calmed down enough to not look on the verge of his wolf form.
"Guys please stand back you will be in the way," Dawn sternly reprimanded them and they all backed away and were all standing nervously.
"Want more info go to Skyler he came with them," Jamie came up behind them and they all wiped around to look at me and if someone tells you four werewolf stares aren't scary, they lied. They came closer and surrounded the cot I was in, and they all looked at me expectantly wanting me to tell them.
"Well, ok the mission was going good we got both out, but they had planted a bomb and it blew up on the three of us everyone else was outside by the time it blew. But Kiroko I was carrying her, so she was blocked from most of it, but Nica was behind me, so she got the most of it then I pulled them out. Then after Elodie found us again she told me to teleport them both here and now I have a pounding headache." They looked at me for a bit, processing, and after a while, they all nodded and backed out of my space.
"Ok, so the others are still on their way back?" Hook asked. I nodded and slowly got up from the cot and left the med tent looking for my boyfriend. I walked all the way to my cabin to find Kota curled up into one of his favorite blankets of mine. I smiled softly at the display and slowly snuck up from behind the couch with a smirk.
"Kotaaa~ I'm back," I said in a singsong voice, and he jumped off the couch in surprise.
"Sky, don't do that!" He cried out with indignation, and he pulled the blanket closer to himself and I wrapped him in a hug.
"I'm sorry love," I chuckled, and he huffed, "come on I just got back let's cuddle." I kissed the side of his head and he finally melted into my embrace, and I picked him up and we went to my room to snuggle.
