Ty and Raylay shared expressions of dropped jaws and lifted eyebrows. Raylay opened his mouth, but emitted no words or sounds. Relda studied their faces and their body languages.
"Come on with me now," Aks said into the silence. "I can't leave you in here with my machines."
Raylay kept his lips pressed together. Back they went, through the hall, into the port where some of the uppity creatures still gathered. There were fewer creatures there when Relda and the crew returned from the office wing.
Relda kept the band clenched in her fist. This one would not slip through her fingers the way the medallion had. She kept her eyes averted the entire trip back to the landing bay.
"You alright, pal?" Raylay asked.
She could feel his eyes on her head.
"Fine," she lied.
He activated the door, revealing the landing bay.
"Come on, Princess," he called to her.
She shoved the band deeper into her pocket, and in large steps, pushed her way into the transport.
