Tiziana had accompanied her to Milan's International Airport in Malpensa, and as if they had agreed beforehand, the two women bade farewell soberly, putting off the cries and moans of separation for the time each was one alone. In fact, Lena's total stay in Italy including the weeks spent in Venice and Milan had been two months, a period in which ties of friendship, work and ... love had been born.

Already alone in the departure area of the airport Lena extracted her cell phone and began sending messages to people to whom she was interested in communicating her return to New York, including her parents, her boss Ira Gorkin and some friends. She kept the device and then extracted it again determined to send another message that she had decided not to include in the first batch, but on a second thought change her decision .
