V1: chapter twenty-six: Jaxon's role

Jaxon's POV

"JAXOOONN!" Mia yells. I fell onto the ground. I lost. She lays next to me. "Don't leave me!" She pleads. "I'm sorry." I can barely say out loud.

"You still have the others." I say. "I don't care, I want all of you, especially you." She says and cries even more. "I love you." I say.

"I love you too." She says and kisses me before I close my eyes. Everything is suddenly white. I feel so.. free?

I turn around. I get tears in my eyes and so does she. "Lainie." I say. The rumours were true, when you die you'll meet your mate if they died before you.

Unless you die first, then you'll watch over your mate until they die. I hug her tightly. We kiss each other passionately.

She breaks the kiss. "Do you know why you meet me?" She asks. "Because you died first." I say. She shakes her head. "Because you're my mate." She says.
